This was a really nice nostalgic walk down memory lane. I started following your channel during the lockdown and your videos really kept me sane during those months. I remember most places you showed here in this video. I remember that resort you stayed in with the delightful travelers. I remember the grocery trips and the cooking with the sinigang. You actually introduced me to that.I remember how empty everything was. It’s nice to see El Nido busy again and it’s very nice to see both of you back. Enjoy your time there Carol and Chris. Lots of memories there in El Nido during your lockdown days..hope you can go back as well to the island where you visited two years ago kayaking from coron to that island and back...with a little rainshower while you were swimming with a lovely dog on the island. 😊
I hope you guys stay longer in the Philippines coz we cannot get enough of your travel content. You can easily extend your visa for another 3 months or more up to 3 years without leaving the country.

Hi Carol and Cris, I was amazed you both liked "sinigang" dish. Foreigners love this dish in any vlogs posted, they just eat sinigang tourists from Korea, Japanese, Americans, Kastila's, Europeans, Canadian or wherever they are. Second is "adobo"! NIce staying again in the Phlippines!

Although its not cheap the island resorts are worth staying. We stayed at Cauayan beach island resort in 2018 and it was awesome. They had a speedboat for us and the crew cooked our lunch and there were a lot of food and drinks. The island hoping was great since we traveled faster and visited more islands than the regular banca boat tours. They also have a spa and we enjoyed the couples massage there. Our villa was on the beach and they also had a nice pool, bar and restaurant.

el nido looks great. tropical beaches are my favorite destinations. your videos are wonderful.
Back in the days of the lockdowns, every travel vlogger had to modify their content, and some simply stopped uploading. I went into depression when wife left me along with our son because of untrue stupid gossips. Then out of nowhere comes a very rare, unusual and very uncommon pandemic, and for the first time in my entire life, I was all alone, I felt all alone, and so went into much much deeper deppression. I was suicidal, and I knew that it wes just a matter of time for me.
But your vlogs back then were somehow the only content that still sparked interest in me to watch or just to even do anything. So thank you for deciding to stay and continue vlogging because to me, it was light at the end of a very long tunnel. I'm still alive today, my son chose to live with me, and i'm no longer depressed.
That's great Keith that you got through such a hard period of your life, also great that we helped out a lot during that time :D We have been told quite a few times that it helped many people during that dark period so its always nice to hear and keeps us motivated. Once again we are very happy you got through it!

18:39 That's the disadvantage of western-design boats. They're not designed for typhoon-prone shallow tropical seas. They can not be beached, because they're deep-hulled. The bangkas on the other hand, actually get pulled unto land when there's a typhoon, where they are safer. They're also more in danger of coral reefs, in comparison to bangkas which just glide on top of very shallow reefs.
It’s so strange that during the days of lockdown we wanted to escape, then here we are a year or so on that we are returning o the place we wanted to escape from, I’m now walking my dogs everyday in the place I used during lockdown and I experience a nice sense of peace doing that, who would of believed….

Amazing guys! I personally didn't get the bug for El Nido when I was there a few years back, but your videos from there, including your ones from Covid, have really had me questioning whether I was missing what was right in front of me, so I'l be back in a few months for take 2 😀
The first time we went we didn't like it because we stayed right in the center of el nido town and mainly just did island hopping and left. So all we saw was busy chaos pretty much but since we were there during the lockdown we were able to discover many gems and now know many places that are pretty much empty e.t.c
@@JumpingPlaces Yea that's essentially the experience I had too. Got a little tiring battling against the tricycles in the centre but was way nicer venturing out to Nacpan etc. Looking forward to being back now, and in the Philippines in general tbh and putting some of your recommendations to good use!

I also used to do the groceries during the start of pandemic and transportation is not allowed unless it is private use, walking early in the morning to avoid the extreme heat then lining up since there is only limit of people that can go inside a grocery store, then lining up again to go inside the market then I will all complete it all at noon, walking again while carrying all those you have bought, looking back at those times we do really have persevered. Good to see you have come back to the place where you have stayed during those difficult times.
