- Blonde goes to the Dark side;)!!!! As I sat down and Consulted with my client... To her it was important to transition to a more Low Maintenance Color.. She was ready for a Change.. She wanted to go back to her Natural Color! We did a pretty dang good job on Matching it!! For a All over Application.. I LOVE using Redken Color Gels.. It glides onto the hair shaft So Smooth, Silky and Jelly!! * COLORS USED* For Fillers 5NW-7NW-7GB For the End Result More dominate Tone I used 6NA&6N using 10 Volume.. My Client Specifially Requested to have NO WARMTH to her hair.. She likes as much ash as possible!!! I then did a Olaplex Treatment to Keep her hair from fading as much along with as much health as possible!! Hope this video helped you!!!! Please Subscribe

You did an amazing job! I personally think she looks better as a brunette,her eyes and skin tone just looks much healthier. I love learning about color mixing,my sister is a stylist and she teaches me as she colors my hair also. Thumbs up,love it!

Her roots don't match the dye..I don't think she's a natural brunette. She's more like a dark blonde.
IMO her color is like a dark blonde. Her roots seem to match the color exactly.

But hair colour levels go from 2-10, sometimes 1-10 depending on the brand. there is no level that exists above a 10.
If a colour chart contains colours that are above a 10 i.e 11/12, the reason the number is higher is to indicate it is a highlift colour.

I WISH I had seen this video before I tried to dye my own hair brown ... But luckily I had it fixed by professionals (and I now own a bottle of olaplex to save my broken hair). :) LOVE this result, I wish you lived near me!!

i usually love your videos! this is my personal opinion she looks great either way , however her brunette hair kinda looks washed out with a slight tint of like a ashy green color... this is exactly why alot of ppl with dyed blonde hair are scared to go to the salon to transform color from blonde to brunette. .. I've seen so many you tube videos stating this!! even hair stylist say that this happens! including my last hair stylist ,which is why she no longer is my stylist! hope she still happy !!! if so more power to her!!
i think she would have looked better with a golden brunette color because she seems to have warm skin tones, but if she likes it, that is all that matters. It seems like it needs some shine.

I tried to do this to myself once not knowing the concept of needing to fill the base colors first, the result: gray/green (zombie poop) it was really bad!

Great video and very helpful I actually used this formula for a double process blonde that wanted to go back to brunette. I haven’t really worked too much with Redken color gels but I have worked with shades EQ. My clients hair came out absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the video great job!!😀

This was the perfect ending to a terrific day! I love watching your videos :) I admit to being a box-dyehard for awhile when I was brunette and wanting to go darker and having to deal with that nasty reverse line of demarcation. Blech, never again. I'm currently a blonde riding the unnatural color train, but if/when I decide to go back to my darker hair, I'll know what to do for next time. ^_^

For those commenting on green cast, remember level 7/6 Ash are typically produced from a green base. Bottom line- the outcome is exactly as the client requested. I personally would be thrilled for this outcome as a client!

She's not a natural brunette, she's a dark ash blonde. You can tell not only from the roots but from her colouring. Very, very few brunettes have that rosy skin tone and blue eyes.
I have dark hair and light eyes naturally. Almost everyone in my family is the same. We have a few red heads and some have green eyes.

Even if you’re going ash you must put the orange back in FIRST...half 8orange base with half clear for filler...process...rinse...dry...then apply your ash and neutral over it...7ash with 7neutral...because of porosity, the result should be a level 6👍

Girl, you went about this all wrong. No, I'm not a dresser, but I've been through it. Her hair is GREEN! I don't mean to be a bother but if my hair looked like this I'd scream! You should have filled it with a Gold spray filler, and then formulated the brown. Shame on you for telling people to leave the hair with a greenish tinge! Shame! Shame!

You should really consider trying Logics Colorcremes it is a conditioning gel cream color that gives the colorist ultimate control and creativity in the formulation and mixing. All the colors are pure tone so you can really show off your expertise. They're at Saloncentric and near the Matrix color.

Hi mandie! I would love some advice from you. I got my dark brown hair bleached ombre at a salon and the ends came out beautiful sandy blonde but in between my roots and the ends (the middle) came out pretty orange toned. What color dye would you recommend if i wanted to change the orange to a light ashy brown? Thanks in advance!
I know I'm two years late for comments on this video but what about a root stretch??? Her root growth wouldn't of been a problem and she could of kept the blonde, meaning low maintenance, lovely light mid and ends and dark happy roots, love the video :)
a few questions: 1) I have virgin hair, it is naturally dark blonde. probably level 7 or 6. my hair also has natural warm orangey undertones. do I have to fill? and 2) where should I apply color first? I'm not sure if I will get "hot roots" (?) because all of my hair is virgin hair...I want to go a medium chocolatey brunette if that matters.
No you dont need to fill ... just simple buy a dye and do it
I just buy a orange box hair dye and then the brown dye I want. I dye my hair red first, then brown.

V. Aminah Townsend that's technically correct. IMO, it doesn't make sense mixing all the colors like in this video. The idea is you layer the colors - that's how color theory really works - fill with red, then you dye again with the ash or neutral.

Do you use the red filler first and let it dry and then put your brown over it while it's still on the hair ;or should you wash out the red filler 1st and then follow the red filled areas with brown, or should you mix the red filler w/ the brown and apply it all together?

Hated to hear how I'm looking trashy when my natural colour comes in. I'm a natural 7 dyed to a level 4. I first tried going pale blonde but didn't like it. I love being brunette. I do my roots every other weekend, but the lengths fade to red every two months or so, then I redye with 5 ash 20 vol, which looks 4 on my porous hair. I use 4 neutral on my roots, which have not previously been colour stripped like the rest. Complicated! I'd like the topside of my hair to be lighter, especially to mimic summer sun lightening, but not sure how to accomplish that. Any ideas? Bleach the crown out? What does brown hair naturally do in the summer? This is my first summer not being a blonde...

I'm a level 9 blonde and want to add warmth too; This formula is perfect because it's a one step fill/color I was thinking about weaving out the hair that will be warm, using this formulation but I wanted caramel honey highlights in-between... what would I use to achieve that for the caramel/honey? Thnx in advance!!
