Liquid is doing a perfect impersonation of Miller here. This is how Miller behaves and you can see it in Metal Gear 2. This shows Kaz really came a long way since the events of Phantom Pain. And he genuinely cares for and loves Solid Snake.
We often give advice that we don’t truly adhere to ourselves. It’s a blindspot that we all have in some form or another. No one has ever been completely immune to having our own forms of cognitive dissonance.
i love how master miller's advice is almost always stuff thats directly applicable to the player, or directly applicable to snake's mental health, but never anything applicable to snake's success on the in-universe mission
Miller is a personal emotional support. It's similar in MG2 as well. He's friendly and loving to Snake and he's the one who gives the ultimate advice to Snake in the end on makeshift weapons which is how he burns and kills Big Boss.
