- Classic Game Room reviews DUCATI WORLD RACING CHALLENGE for the Sega Dreamcast from 2001. Heres one of the most forgettable Sega Dreamcast driving games out there, Ducati World. While the game is certainly dated by todays standards it also pales in comparison to some of the really good racing games on Dreamcast like Ferrari F355 Challenge, Sega GT and Test Drive LeMans. Its not all bad though, Ducati World does have a fine selection of new and classic Ducati motorcycles to choose from, a small variety of courses and some halfway playable gameplay. The fact is the driving in this game feels nothing at all like driving. At no point does it feel like the bike has contact with the road, leaning from one side to the other is awkward and not terribly well done and the music is terrible beyond imagination. The Moto GP series blows this to pieces. Players do get a behind the bike view, first person cockpit view and crashes where your rider slides down the road and explodes into flames. Well, not the flame part. That would be awesome! This CGR review of Ducati World Racing Challenge has gameplay from Ducati World on Sega Dreamcast showing this bike racing game in action. Only for really hardcore Ducati motorcycle fans wanting a motorcycle racing game with their brand on it.
"Whoah he's sliding the wrong way!!"
7 years later and I still love that line.
but do you still love that line 10 years later?
Haha whoah I do, I have no freaking idea why I find that so funny, but I watch this review literally only for this line. Man CGR was the tits.
I was a teen and actually completed every single licence test in this game, for the playstation port. Impossible, I know, but I did! Took me few years.
I would say the race tracks aren't terrible but the controls do need a middle ground and some of the music, like the menu music was done well, I actually kinda liked the bike sounds.
5/10 By today's standards It's a frustrating game with a steep learning curve that somehow kinda rewards you..
Also the menu layout was kinda horriffic in terms of UX because so many block menus you could forget which one was needed to go to where. For example, not knowing anything about bikes and buying the cheapest bike for the group but having no idea which group an Mh900e belongs to. Did it even exist in the used car listings?
Graphically on the Playstation the hilly textures look bad but everything else wasn't too bad, I like the way it looked over the dreamcast but some occasional fluctuation in framerate can kill your vibes.
My nostaliga gives this game a 7/10 and it was the first bike game i played but today... I'd give 7/10 to vanishing point, and this ducatti world game gets 5/10 only true masters of the self will conquer it. Go in expecting small niceties but mainly steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep learning curve. Also, for what it's worth I did feel the bike physics were on the realistic side more so than arcade, but there were a few flaws, some "jumps" in the track would send your bike epicly sideways, the crashing is always hilarious and always at speed. Good sense of speed this game.
haha, idk why but when u entered your name in as "AAAAAAAAAAA.." it made me laugh outloud in my keyboarding class :P
It amazes me that you can put out so many good videos in such little time....You must really love doing reviews...thank you and keep it up....PS. post more vectrex reviews...I just purchased one on ebay a few months ago and love it....
i'm so sad that channel died, so just rewatching old reviews in 2019. good bye, old friend
Lucky you His uploading again
OMG, I still have this game for the original PlayStation. I liked it a lot. Thanks for the review.
I actually like the music that begins these reviews - there's something catchy about it.
Another great review. You review a nice batch of different games both old and newer.
"Whoah he's sliding the wrong way!!" I love that line it makes me laugh so hard.
Powerstone 2 and Shemnue were my favourite dreamcast games :)
Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing is the Dreamcast's best motorcycle game and F355 Challenge is its best overall racer. 4 Wheel Thunder, Daytona USA, F1 World Grand Prix II, Hydro Thunder, Metropolis Street Racer, Test Drive Le Mans, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2, and Vanishing Point are also great.
o god i forgot about that game i use to love playing that game on dreamcast love it.
You should review Motorhead for PSone!
Awesome review by the way!
the guy who made that game room jingle is a genius
MOAR DREMACAST REVIEWS!!! Thanks Mark. :)
i remember playing this on my old pentium computer, i still have the game
Tourist Trophy for the ps2 is my favorite motorcycle game. Its made by Polyphony (sp?) same people who made GT and the game should be pretty cheap now. Its basically GT with motorcycles. You need to get you license in that game too though.
Don't forget about Star Wars BattleFront 2. That had whole levels dedicated to Ewok slaughter. Slashing threw Those poor furballs with Darth Vader is a blast.
i got this game on ps1!
lot of fun in this game!
especialy in multiplayer mode xD
I can remember having this on one of my old Playstations... I think I swapped it with my friend for one of the Army Men games. It was pretty good though never really liked it as much as Gran Turismo but managed to wipe away a goood few hours on it.
This looks like a game I'd get just for collection and play for like five minutes, unless I really wanna bike it, which doesn't happen as often as you'd think.
that flashing is normal in a lot of games after a wreck or something. it is to make it so the other players go through you the first few sec after to make it not cause trouble after being put on the track again. some games just kinda make you see through instead of flashing though.
Nice review!
I happen to love time trials AND license tests. That's why Gran Turismo is my favorite game franchise lol
I didn't but I won't hold it against you.
I remember playing this for the playstation when i was a kid, i remember the game being fun but there was a reason why i played GT2 way more then this.
I love this game!!!
Gran turismo has the license thing 2, and you love that series.
I rented this game on Playstation 2? A billion years ago. It was meh. Glad to see I wasn't wrong.
return of the jedi my favorite original stawars movie.oh and im not a racing game fan only destruction derby 1 and 2 and twisted metal black thats as close as get to racing games
thank you very much
Nice one!
i just watched the the old review or sea-man the other day hilarious
lol i think this is the first time i hear mark talkign so bad about a game xD
The good old game without damn glamour
I can't believe Ducati approved this...
i love ducati world :)
i luv Ducati! 5/5
this is good
don't know. there are a lot of good racing games on dreamcast. i wouldn't mind having any of these. Metropolis Street Racer, F355 Challenge : Passione Rossa, Vanishing Point, Rally 2, hydro thunder, Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation2, Test Drive V-Rally, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2, sega gt
very well done ;D
You know what would be amazing? Being able to play PS2 games on a Dreamcast.
Wishful thinking I know, but it would be awesome to have anti-ailiasing on PS2 games. That and being able to play TDU on the Dreamcast. Only in my dreams I suppose..
this is a really good game, very realistic bike handling if you are using the rider view..
3rd person view however, takes away the feel for it... very useless.
4 Wheel Thunder, Daytona USA, Demolition Racer, F1 World Grand Prix II, Looney Tunes Space Race, Re-Volt, San Francisco Rush 2049, Speed Devils, Wacky Races.
My favorite motocycle game is Road Rash for the PSone. I think it was released for 3DO too.
Talking about Ducati, the graphics look good, but the gameplay probably suck, considering the video (never played it).
Anyway... i would prefer Hang On on my
master system than this one! :)
Yeah, Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing is fun, and DC exclusive. It's the sequel to Redline Racer on the PC actually, which was also good. Both are way better games than this... arcade-style too, not sim. I much prefer arcade-style racing games.
Review DOWNHILL DOMONATION, It's Awesome, it's the best
yes. this game is made by same company that makes project Gotham racing. i been trying to find it.
If you have not played Metropolis Street Racer, then you really ought to have a look at that on the Dreamcast.
So fun tho i had this on the PS1 was epic
It's a Dreamcast game, but with the amount of clipping and draw-in, you would think it was an early Saturn game.
"Ferrari F355 challenge took this game, handed it its own ass, and then fed it to Seaman"
dont ever be deceived by this game
there are MANY...i mean MANY great dc games with EXCELLENT graphics
Test Drive Le Mans is by far the best racing game on Dreamcast, actually. >(
a bad dreamcast game?! never would've imagined that...
yeah in your dreams cause even though i hate the PS2 it can't be done, cause the Dreamcast had a GD ROM drive and the PS2 has a DVD drive lol. Also the CPU and GPU architectures are very different. It is possiable to play PS1 games on a DreamCast however using Bleemcast Paks, but not all the games work, and you need a gamepad converter.
hey ballons, the motorcycles of the sky
This game happened two years ago
Ducati stunt bike would have been
a more fun title.
You should get Beetle Adventure Racing for N64
i know he left like 8 years ago but what ever happened to that other guy that did this show?
This looks ok -_- but not one i'm going to look for if i see it i'll probably get it.
I wish that he reviews all the Crash games. But he doesn't review on requests.
Pop up in 2001 good work programmers -.-
Oh, and the best racing game on Dreamcast is Rush 2049. It's also my favorite racing game ever, actually. :) (amazing on both N64 and DC! Okay but messed up in too many ways in Midway Arcade Treasures 3...) Arcade-style futuristic racing at its finest!
ATTENTION ALL RUclipsRS
Mr. Black will be returning to his original channel
i wasnt aware there was an N46
Anyone notice that the textures don't line up when they first pop-in on screen? ;) You can really see it at 3:28.
you should review Exitebike 64 on the N46
yeah get it mark, sb2
i loved fighting force
dreamcast had some wonderful racing game but only ONE semi decent motorbike game (suzuki racing). Sad. ;)
i play this on ps1 epic game
NO your're not. The view system takes long to update on youtube.
Mark, you know that there's like 3 Tokyo Xtreme Racer games for the PS2, don't you?
that kilometer is plain disturbing
are you insane
most entertaining dreamcast game. for a short while...
I have this game for Playstation and I just play the same level and see how high I can fling myself at 4:00.
Do a review of Spirit of Speed:1937 next. It's even worse than this game.
yo pplz YOU SHOULD DO GRAN TURISMO 1 ON PS1 DATS A CLASSIC
no its the 2nd or 3rd
lol i used to play this and listen to blink 182
good memories
well not the game blink 182
AAAAAAAAAAAA XD I always do that too
IIRC, Dave moved.
he already did
no he did frogger 4 atari 5200
We should get SeaMan???? Really...? I thought you hated that game.
wtf?
wall rides?
XP
There is another motor cycle racing game on the Dreamcast that is better than this one: Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing. Also a bit dated but about 50 times better than this dull lump of a game.
Is it bad. :D
@ugforthewin I think MTV Sports Skateboarding has it beat
way did you stop making videos about your dog stela
i was making fun of some other person genius
Heheh. Tk421 ^^
Also, this looks very.. Average..
Suzuki Allstar is a way better motorcycle game on the Dreamcast.
crazy taxi?
2 words tourist trophy
lol i did think rthat the dreamcast had better graphics
ewok massacre aewsome

He has... Rofl
If you put your name in as valentino rossi..you'll feel better about the game...then you get to play it over trying to beat the times set by the great Valentino Rossi....no? ...i'll get my coat
Easily the worst game on the Dreamcast! :P
