English is my native language but I’m in my second year of medicine in Cuba. I wasn’t understanding the concept in Spanish and this video definitely cleared it up for me. Big up yourself 👏🏽
Please can somebody answer, I had just started uni and this has been explained. I understand what is going on here but not why it is done. Because in this example A and B agglutinated which suggest type AB blood right, but if we then get this as a blood bag and give it to the person who must be type AB and transfuse it-if it agglutinated in the lab then it will agglutinate in the person. So although A and B agglutinated as it has an A and B antigen to tell us type AB why are we giving them this blood wouldn't this cause an immune reaction and least to death
The aim is to detect what blood group the person has. We don't know what antigens are on the patients red blood cells so we use known antibodies (anti-a,b,d) to work this out. A+B cause agglutination suggesting that the person has AB blood. But you need to remember that AB blood DOES NOT have anti-a and anti-b antibodies. So there will be no immune reaction when transfused. ☺

If there is no visual appearance on A and B then it is considered as O right?
Yes
nice
Thanks
Helpfull
Glad to hear that
I want your advise. Your videos are so so informative i also have 2 laboratories how i made videos on different test of lab.
Good
Thanks
Can use the same principle of the ABO indirect blood grouping for Rh factor? And why?
How would you determine the person who has the O blood type?
No change in antisera A or B
Blood grouping with forward

nice background music
so if it has A antigen does it mean the blood type is A ??
Yes or AB you need to check the what the B plate does, if it agglutinates there is a B antigen too-but you are right

why need normal saline suspension!what happens when use only blood drop w/o normal saline ?
Love from Pakistan
Can you inform me about the software used to create this video?
What is the purpose of adding normal saline
To prepare Cell suspension of RBC, also it helps in comparing as Control to differentiate agglutination
Sample is RBC or fresh blood?
what is RBC?
