I started on a Demon playthrough going for a sort of noble demon story, but when I swapped to Legend late-game, the game began alluding to the idea that you've literally earned the ability the ability to twist fate like a pretzel. Almost any time you run into a villain-of-the-week after that, they start smack-talking about how you're now powerless. And after a few good swipes, they start having a panic attack. Bonus points for me having 3 levels in Hellknight to grab Fearsomeness in combination with Cornugon Smash and Dreadful Carnage, making me a -proverbial- force of terror.

Honestly "ok" in theory but was completely stupid and the only real lore breaking thing in this game...a normie would stand 0 chance against a Demon Lord end of story lmfao...cute but just no. Its still the weakest of all options (I have over 1200 hours of gameplay mythic paths are still stronger) but your still way too strong for "losing your mythic power"...its bs.

Dmitry really captured the themes of every mythic path very well Angel - Majestic, holy and orderly, perfect for the lawful good heavens Aeons - I can feel a hint of somber and acceptance from the theme, I wonder why? Demon - Well its a doom theme, what else I need to say? Lich - Evil yet I feel a hint a majestic power, a theme befitting a Lord of the death Swarm that walks - pure sinister and evil Devil - Evil but orderly, just like hell. Itself Gold Dragon - Possibly one of the more epic themes, which befit a dragon Mythic legend - this is probably my favorite, its mundane but its epic, perfectly encapsulates the sheer determination and grit of a mortal legend, irori would be proud Azata - The beautiful flute, do I need to say more?
and trickster- A piece that incorperates a kind of semi-sinister yet silly whimsical magesty that screams "i am going to do something stupid and /or hilarious and you cannot stop me."

I made a Cavalier gendarme + 2 handed fighter in my legend run. I turned off the music during Deskari encounter an put this instead. I one-shoted him in a critical charge. Truuly a legend.

I was so happy when I learned about the Legend path, because it just fit so perfectly with the background I created for my character and the roleplay I was making. I didn't care that I was a full caster and the Legend path benefits mostly melee, since your CL won't go above 28, but I didn't care. I was able to tell such a cool story and have my pc have such a cool character arc that I wasn't expecting to be able to make. I just love this, I love how the game hypes you up with the mythic powers, giving you powers that no other mortal has ever dreamed of achieving, but then it gives you the option of refusing such powers. I love this rp of "fuck divinity, I am a mortal and I want to remain a mortal".

This is mundane? This is literally the most bombastic and epic out of all the Mythic paths, the only Mythic Path themes that even come close to how epic The Legend theme is probably The Demon and Gold Dragon mythic path themes.
Because of the picture, I was picturing in my head the wardstones lighting up one after another, circling the Worldwound. I wonder what it's like for those who've been there from the very beginning and witnessed it. Those who've known passing triumphs but also so many defeats.
The best Legend Dialogue comes during the height of Nenio's quest. Spoilers Below. . . . . . . When you convince Areshkagal that *she* is nothing but a grain of sand, being just a Chad enough to turn her entire game against her. Best dialogue in the game for me.

There is something extra badass about going Lich and then dropping it for Legend, becoming the literal Godlike peak omega mortal that can cast lvl10 spells
...This is one of the most epic tracks in gaming history, IMO. Seriously. It's really hard to think of any other game that manages to reach *this* level of epicness. The only other that comes to mind is the music of the last mission in Mass Effect 2. Thank you for this, Dmitry. Your work is marvelous!

I honestly don't like how they implemented the legend system. It would've been way cooler if we get to make the choice early on (i.e. your first first mythic rank) so there is some sort of progression instead of just an massive exp dump in the late game so the MC reaches level 40. Just increase the exp amount gained while adventuring or something so you get to experience climbing your way to the pinnacle of a mortal instead of an arbitrary choice to reject divine power which for some reason results in you getting stronger somehow? I feel like legend should be a goal you work towards grind/farming instead of a free exp boost.
@@AlacrityTW yeah when I hit act 5 and saw that’s when I could be legend I realized I was level 18 so clearly it was going to flood me with levels and that sounds like a chore to deal with.
The peak performance of going "Lol no" to the entire universe and rejecting godly powers. Although, personally, Legend is more OP than all the other mythic paths simply because the minmax potential of being level 40 beats superpowers any day

If you know the entire story, you will find that that path is... just no. Great theme, don't get me wrong, but... The paths' intro quest is, I guess you could say torture?
@@crepooscul There are some massive story spoilers for that, so I will be writing it much further down so it's hidden from a cursory glance. What gives the Commander their mythic power is what remains of Areelu Voresh's child's soul being mystically stitched to their own, forming a soul amalgam. To become a Legend, you rip their soul from your own, piece by piece, causing the soul agony beyond anything that can be physically manifested. Then after that, you fight the fragment you cast off and destroy it. And while all this goes on, the soul is desperately trying to stay alive, desperately asking WHY you are doing this, why are you hurting them, torturing them. Over and over and over, and as you move along the path, the soul gets more and more desperate and is clearly in more and more pain. In the end, you kill the soul of Areelu's child, which has had no say in its part in all of this. A soul, destroyed in such a fashion, suffers True Death. In short, that soul has no afterlife, no hope for a final judgment, no nothing, only oblivion.
I wonder if this is intentional or not, but there is a very interesting parallel between Mater of My own Fate and Mythic Power starting from 0:45 and I wonder if it intentional. Throughout the Mythic power track the overpowering horns are one of the key aspects, they are followed by a melody and choir that can feel both powerful/majestic but also partially sinister at times...but as a contrast here similar horns come in and instead they are very pure and triumphant with the focus being less on grandiose power and more on pure determination itself.
I read up on all the endings and I'm pretty sure this is the game's true "good" story and ending, with you taking back control of your own life and meeting the demons on your own terms. Also BAB.
I think that is entirely dependent on your roleplay and very much not something you should assert as being the ultimate "good" path of the game. If anything Angel is clearly the defaul path for the story. And I would argue that the Secret Ending cannot be canonical due to lore outside the game, but I would definitely say nearly any path that isnt Swarm or Lich is equally possible.
I went down this path because the aeon told me that I'm too emotional and merciful, unfit to be a judge. Fuck the elitist gods and deities Golarion is under my protection now.

For me, it was my companions, especially Greybor, who spoke of how I was spiraling into further chaos and madness with my Trickster powers. The words were something akin to "When I met you, you were an extravagant and artsy person, but now madness is slowly consuming you."
Probably the strongest mythic path if you're good at combining different classes. You can stack AC and immunities up the wazoo yet still have enough BAB to hit every swing.
Legit going with Oracle into Sorcerer, you can get CHA to AC and Saves, immunities and resisatances out the wazoo, and so much more. It's fucking awesome.
Given the amount of things you can do with an additional 20 levels, including additional HP, and Hit Dice and all the Feat synergies that got with that, Legend truly is crazy-powerful - particularly for Martial classes. Kudos to the game's dialogue actually alluding to this fact as well, since everybody seems to fall over themselves once they see this in action.
@@InfinityZwei There is no PVP, but the allusion that something is "OP" is that there's something to compare it to. Legend is not OP compared to Lich or Angel because they're that strong.
@@Grim67894 Somebody doesn't get /sarcasm. :D Furthermore, this whole "My dad can beat up your dad" argument is pretty moot since I never compared Legend to anybody else, just the game's existing content that the build is running against with particular build synergies (Martial classes in particular). Not only did I not pick this fight, it's also just dumb to keep perpetuating it because the pro-Dad v Dad argument has *only one side* trying to justify their epeens. :)
Excellent song. Definitively one of my favorites in game. Although for me this song fits for final battle against Khomrammzadehs army (tactical mod) blocking way to Treshold fortrest (yes I know that he is out of way, but still it fits that his large army would guard Treshold) . Just imagine your hero having speech before assembled army (something about everyone in crusader army is a legend of its own) and then charging to abysall hordes.
That's one thing Pillars of Eternity did better. The Watcher rarely fought with an army, but, when he did, he really spent time on the theatrics, cheering his men into glorious victory.
I just finished my very first playthrough. Just a humble, Kitsune Sword Saint Legend, carrying an Arcane-enhanced Elven Curved Blade Finnean, and finished Areelu in 2 turns basically solo (my companions were not able to scratch her, thank Desna for Dimension Strike!). I hoped to retire from this crusade business, but I don't remember the game letting me select so before (the ending slides implied that I could have done so, I even let Queen Galfrey strip my position away at the end of act 3! Serioisly, I just want my boi, Masamune to retire after all that lol). Still, I was very satisfied with this game apart from the tedious quest with our millenia-old, encyclopedia-writing scientist. I can't wait until my next playthrough. Perhaps a bard embracing the path of the Azata (probably what everyone does lol).
It's funny how ppl say that this is the chad path and stuff like that, giving godly powers for this. The funny part is that this is actually the strongest path, so you give up 'godly' powers to actually become a god LOL. No matter what you say and twist, nothing is stronger than lvl 40 character... NOTHING!

Well i played this build : demon hunter 2 scaled fist (for AC) 1 aldori defender 12 aldori Swordlord 7 and trickster 10. I run to 99 AC in fight, with 300-400 damage on crit (+60 on attacks with 13+ crit). I am pretty sure i can duel a level 40 (and trickster give a free 20 level of wizard and some like a bard, with +10d6 of sneack attacks too). But... I don't know trickster is a troll master and i don't like this story. So i rerun a new one for play a legend with this amazing song ^^

Well, i theorycraft mine for my new run, because i want to master my own fate with this powerfull theme. (I do again a aldori but i wish to know if all duellist feats works well with him).

I feel so sorry for those angels who made the sacrifice and went into the ward stone. Areelu might’ve wrought great evil by creating the world wound, but she was right about one thing: Iomadae wasn’t the goddess of wisdom. These ward stones were of her creation, and every one of them reminds me of her incapability of either leading Golarion towards the truth/removal of the worldwound, or pushing back the demons and returning the mortal world to its original state. Golarion doesn’t need a glorified fence which, by the way, has been corrupted and failing and shouldn’t be put there in the first place. What Golarion need is a truly victorious crusade to rid the demons and the world wound. So I removed them and released the angels who are now trapped within, returning them to their home plane to heal. They are our allies and we should work together, not take their sacrifice for granted and have them as slaves. We might start low without them, but the crusaders and civilians of Golarion will show Iomedae and the demon lords just how resilient and valiant we are in this upcoming fifth crusade.
The funny thing about this path is that you basically become a super killing machine that surpasses any mythic path if multiclassed correctly. You basically instantly get + 20 levels when you break free of the mythic powers, which, in turn means that mythic powers only slowed you down. I want to beat this game another one time to get that secret ending but I feel that lorewise it's just a downgrade. Using the power that was a product of so many deaths and suffering to ascend is just wrong. Test of the Starstone for my lv 40 would be a piece of cake after Pathfinder 2 adventures.

if you have a save game at the end of act 4 use it. trickster into legend is the most overpowered combo in the game. other mythic paths can't even compete
went from a human sylvan trickster rogue on the trickster path to a legend getting into a vanguard slayer build...so many sneak attacks!!!! Sylvan trickster had all my hexes then used the slayer path to get things like blinding critical, dispelling strike and more that I missed on the original rogue path. Was aiming for a guy who skirted the magic power line without actually crossing it and it worked quite well I think. Even in unfair mode I say ditch the powers, embrace your mortality and show all these deities what you can really do :D
For those who want to have the power, you shall pay the price. Accepting the mythic power, you must give up part of your humanity. However, those who choose this road value humanity more than anything else. Thus, you are not the myth, but a legend.

The power given to you, cleansed and pure, so you could form it after your own very will pushed you beyond being a pawn, not even playing the game anymore - that's why that goddess told you to give it up.

I was so happy when I learned about the Legend path, because it just fit so perfectly with the background I created for my character and the roleplay I was making.
I didn't care that I was a full caster and the Legend path benefits mostly melee, since your CL won't go above 28, but I didn't care. I was able to tell such a cool story and have my pc have such a cool character arc that I wasn't expecting to be able to make.
I just love this, I love how the game hypes you up with the mythic powers, giving you powers that no other mortal has ever dreamed of achieving, but then it gives you the option of refusing such powers. I love this rp of "fuck divinity, I am a mortal and I want to remain a mortal".

This is mundane? This is literally the most bombastic and epic out of all the Mythic paths, the only Mythic Path themes that even come close to how epic The Legend theme is probably The Demon and Gold Dragon mythic path themes.

When you convince Areshkagal that *she* is nothing but a grain of sand, being just a Chad enough to turn her entire game against her. Best dialogue in the game for me.
You can do it as a non-Legend, too, you just need to refuse to answer the pillars' questions all the four times while running around the dungeon.

...This is one of the most epic tracks in gaming history, IMO. Seriously.
It's really hard to think of any other game that manages to reach *this* level of epicness. The only other that comes to mind is the music of the last mission in Mass Effect 2.

I honestly don't like how they implemented the legend system. It would've been way cooler if we get to make the choice early on (i.e. your first first mythic rank) so there is some sort of progression instead of just an massive exp dump in the late game so the MC reaches level 40. Just increase the exp amount gained while adventuring or something so you get to experience climbing your way to the pinnacle of a mortal instead of an arbitrary choice to reject divine power which for some reason results in you getting stronger somehow? I feel like legend should be a goal you work towards grind/farming instead of a free exp boost.
@@AlacrityTW yeah when I hit act 5 and saw that’s when I could be legend I realized I was level 18 so clearly it was going to flood me with levels and that sounds like a chore to deal with.
Main reason I didn't like the legend path is that I had to spend like 10min to level up from 18 -> 38...😅
Being lv 40 elf do feel like you are a deity you live for long time and this crusade only the beginning.
The peak performance of going "Lol no" to the entire universe and rejecting godly powers.
Although, personally, Legend is more OP than all the other mythic paths simply because the minmax potential of being level 40 beats superpowers any day
I think that all the mythic path soundtracks are awesome in their own right, but this is the most powerful. You can't go wrong with trumpets.

@@crepooscul There are some massive story spoilers for that, so I will be writing it much further down so it's hidden from a cursory glance.
What gives the Commander their mythic power is what remains of Areelu Voresh's child's soul being mystically stitched to their own, forming a soul amalgam.
To become a Legend, you rip their soul from your own, piece by piece, causing the soul agony beyond anything that can be physically manifested. Then after that, you fight the fragment you cast off and destroy it.
And while all this goes on, the soul is desperately trying to stay alive, desperately asking WHY you are doing this, why are you hurting them, torturing them.
Over and over and over, and as you move along the path, the soul gets more and more desperate and is clearly in more and more pain.
In the end, you kill the soul of Areelu's child, which has had no say in its part in all of this. A soul, destroyed in such a fashion, suffers True Death. In short, that soul has no afterlife, no hope for a final judgment, no nothing, only oblivion.
I wonder if this is intentional or not, but there is a very interesting parallel between Mater of My own Fate and Mythic Power starting from 0:45 and I wonder if it intentional. Throughout the Mythic power track the overpowering horns are one of the key aspects, they are followed by a melody and choir that can feel both powerful/majestic but also partially sinister at times...but as a contrast here similar horns come in and instead they are very pure and triumphant with the focus being less on grandiose power and more on pure determination itself.
Well of course. Your mythic powers comes with strings. Thus the sinister notes. But you are now the master of your own fate!

I read up on all the endings and I'm pretty sure this is the game's true "good" story and ending, with you taking back control of your own life and meeting the demons on your own terms. Also BAB.

Maybe not remember kingmaker secret ending and this game secret ending.
I think that is entirely dependent on your roleplay and very much not something you should assert as being the ultimate "good" path of the game.
If anything Angel is clearly the defaul path for the story.
And I would argue that the Secret Ending cannot be canonical due to lore outside the game, but I would definitely say nearly any path that isnt Swarm or Lich is equally possible.
I went down this path because the aeon told me that I'm too emotional and merciful, unfit to be a judge. Fuck the elitist gods and deities Golarion is under my protection now.

This theme is convincing me to switch to legend from trickster when I can.

For me, it was my companions, especially Greybor, who spoke of how I was spiraling into further chaos and madness with my Trickster powers. The words were something akin to "When I met you, you were an extravagant and artsy person, but now madness is slowly consuming you."

Theoretically, this also grants you passage to the Starstone Trial to become a God by your own efforts.
Probably the strongest mythic path if you're good at combining different classes.
You can stack AC and immunities up the wazoo yet still have enough BAB to hit every swing.
Legit going with Oracle into Sorcerer, you can get CHA to AC and Saves, immunities and resisatances out the wazoo, and so much more. It's fucking awesome.
This one is the truly OP path, a real GOD mode path.
Given the amount of things you can do with an additional 20 levels, including additional HP, and Hit Dice and all the Feat synergies that got with that, Legend truly is crazy-powerful - particularly for Martial classes. Kudos to the game's dialogue actually alluding to this fact as well, since everybody seems to fall over themselves once they see this in action.

Furthermore, this whole "My dad can beat up your dad" argument is pretty moot since I never compared Legend to anybody else, just the game's existing content that the build is running against with particular build synergies (Martial classes in particular). Not only did I not pick this fight, it's also just dumb to keep perpetuating it because the pro-Dad v Dad argument has *only one side* trying to justify their epeens. :)

Excellent song. Definitively one of my favorites in game. Although for me this song fits for final battle against Khomrammzadehs army (tactical mod) blocking way to Treshold fortrest (yes I know that he is out of way, but still it fits that his large army would guard Treshold) . Just imagine your hero having speech before assembled army (something about everyone in crusader army is a legend of its own) and then charging to abysall hordes.
That's one thing Pillars of Eternity did better. The Watcher rarely fought with an army, but, when he did, he really spent time on the theatrics, cheering his men into glorious victory.
I made gold dragon on my first play. But after listening to this one, I want to go legend so badly for my next run.
I just finished my very first playthrough. Just a humble, Kitsune Sword Saint Legend, carrying an Arcane-enhanced Elven Curved Blade Finnean, and finished Areelu in 2 turns basically solo (my companions were not able to scratch her, thank Desna for Dimension Strike!).
I hoped to retire from this crusade business, but I don't remember the game letting me select so before (the ending slides implied that I could have done so, I even let Queen Galfrey strip my position away at the end of act 3! Serioisly, I just want my boi, Masamune to retire after all that lol). Still, I was very satisfied with this game apart from the tedious quest with our millenia-old, encyclopedia-writing scientist. I can't wait until my next playthrough. Perhaps a bard embracing the path of the Azata (probably what everyone does lol).

It's funny how ppl say that this is the chad path and stuff like that, giving godly powers for this. The funny part is that this is actually the strongest path, so you give up 'godly' powers to actually become a god LOL. No matter what you say and twist, nothing is stronger than lvl 40 character... NOTHING!

Well i played this build : demon hunter 2 scaled fist (for AC) 1 aldori defender 12 aldori Swordlord 7 and trickster 10. I run to 99 AC in fight, with 300-400 damage on crit (+60 on attacks with 13+ crit). I am pretty sure i can duel a level 40 (and trickster give a free 20 level of wizard and some like a bard, with +10d6 of sneack attacks too).
But... I don't know trickster is a troll master and i don't like this story. So i rerun a new one for play a legend with this amazing song ^^

I feel so sorry for those angels who made the sacrifice and went into the ward stone. Areelu might’ve wrought great evil by creating the world wound, but she was right about one thing: Iomadae wasn’t the goddess of wisdom. These ward stones were of her creation, and every one of them reminds me of her incapability of either leading Golarion towards the truth/removal of the worldwound, or pushing back the demons and returning the mortal world to its original state. Golarion doesn’t need a glorified fence which, by the way, has been corrupted and failing and shouldn’t be put there in the first place. What Golarion need is a truly victorious crusade to rid the demons and the world wound. So I removed them and released the angels who are now trapped within, returning them to their home plane to heal. They are our allies and we should work together, not take their sacrifice for granted and have them as slaves. We might start low without them, but the crusaders and civilians of Golarion will show Iomedae and the demon lords just how resilient and valiant we are in this upcoming fifth crusade.
The Azata may have been the writer's pet, but if quality is any indication than Legend was yours. What a perfect sound track for the perfect path.
The funny thing about this path is that you basically become a super killing machine that surpasses any mythic path if multiclassed correctly. You basically instantly get + 20 levels when you break free of the mythic powers, which, in turn means that mythic powers only slowed you down.
I want to beat this game another one time to get that secret ending but I feel that lorewise it's just a downgrade. Using the power that was a product of so many deaths and suffering to ascend is just wrong. Test of the Starstone for my lv 40 would be a piece of cake after Pathfinder 2 adventures.
For martials, maybe. Casters are better off with the MPs.

if you have a save game at the end of act 4 use it. trickster into legend is the most overpowered combo in the game. other mythic paths can't even compete

went from a human sylvan trickster rogue on the trickster path to a legend getting into a vanguard slayer build...so many sneak attacks!!!! Sylvan trickster had all my hexes then used the slayer path to get things like blinding critical, dispelling strike and more that I missed on the original rogue path. Was aiming for a guy who skirted the magic power line without actually crossing it and it worked quite well I think. Even in unfair mode I say ditch the powers, embrace your mortality and show all these deities what you can really do :D

The power given to you, cleansed and pure, so you could form it after your own very will pushed you beyond being a pawn, not even playing the game anymore - that's why that goddess told you to give it up.
