Do you mean the architecture itself? That’s a fair comment and I really appreciate the engagement, but there is a lot of soul here. A lot people getting together and enjoying themselves. This place is packed multiple days and nights a week with live music and people eating and drinking and kids running around everywhere. I get what you mean though, sometimes planned developments like this go up fast and there’s an element of it that doesn’t feel truly organic

There are many planned communities that are soulless...but there are many that arent. Ive seem many like this on the west coast, and if theyre done correct and made in order that its a social and community hub intentionally, people will come and it will work. It's that most developers are too lazy to go the extra step to do this with their money over quality of life edict.
This looks wonderful... in a video. In reality, Florida is absolutely awful. The weather and the heat are unbereable. We have 106 degrees in May!!!!! I have been living in South FL for 25 years and the climate change is a tangible reality. Every year gets worse and worse. I am planning to move out asap before the most horrible hurricane season arrives. These wonderful builders should be building new communities up north, not in FL. Did they see what happened in Fort Myers last year???

Not sure where you can find it actually. I grew up in town and my father was in the construction industry and he would regularly purchase shell and gravel for jobs. I’ll reply with a link if I come across anything.
I would say the median age is in the 40’s. There are a lot of young families with kids, some couples who are recently engaged, and some retirees or snowbirds. It’s a pretty good mix there. Lots of kids though.
Another no fences allowed development in Lakewood Ranch? My biggest issue with LR and why we moved out of LR. Having a dog and no fence is just not practical or fun.

A field manager for Neal Homes told me a big reason for this was because of the narrow lot lines. If a fence split that space between homes these big zero turn mowers could not get to the back and they want them to mow all the backyards quickly. fwiw, we were in Indigo and liked it very much, except for the no fence regulations.
All of the lots look like they are very small. Also, if someone is going to spend millions on a home, I think they might want a gate or two instead of the general public strolling past their house 24/7/365
Yeah lots are relatively small. The most expensive neighborhoods in Sarasota along the coast are also not gated. Harbor acres has homes between $5M and $30M and there is no gate. Same with Bird Key, and Lido Key, so there is definitely a precedent. Thanks for watching!

I love coastal cities and there are plenty amazing ones that offer things that waterside can’t, but the point of the video (aside from explaining the area to prospective buyers) was to show how careful planning and development can create something from nothing and offer a great place to live. Waterside was such a huge disappointment after seeing the architecture and design of the neighborhood and homes in Rosemary, Seaside and Alys on 30A. For all that money invested in Waterside, the developers could have made it soo much nicer and unique.
I’m not going to lie I was on the phone the other night around midnight standing along the walk bridge and a gator did float right up next to me. There shouldn’t be too many there given the amount of noise and boat activity in the future but yes, they’re there. I definitely won’t be swimming in the lakes lol.
@@michaelheller_KW Well, they're already pumping water out of the streets in parts of Miami. You also have Republican politicians who refuse to address climate change or even acknowledge it exists. They're too busy fighting their culture war nonsense.

When looking at maps of phosphate mining in Florida, it looks to be well east of Myakka state park in Sarasota and well east of Verna Bethany in Manatee County.
Florida should add more tropical trees and make their cities like covered tropical paradise 🥭
