Having your "feral" kids running around, so cool. But having your son help you and work together? OMG there is hope for America. Teach them young to work, love and have a good time doing it together. VERY, Very impressive. This video is all I know about you and your family. It is "Good Enough" lol Thank you! Because of this video it "Peenched" a good time out of my day. YOU ARE A GOOD DAD!!!

A good addition to the homestead. As Sam said, it will keep honest people honest. How do you open the gate from the house if a wanted visitor arrives? I enjoy watching you teach your children life skills. My husband was a Jack of all trades and a master of none. He passed on that knowledge to our son just as you are doing. Your children are receiving love, encouragement and respect. Thanks for sharing your life.

We bought several extra remotes from ebay and have them in the cars and inside the home. The remotes work to open the gate from the house too -- just point and click! :) Plus we got a keypad from the person we bought it from and all our family know the code to get into the property if needed. :)
I learned a lot from my father, too. He was a DIYer by force though, not choice like we are. :) Lack of money makes one learn all sorts of things to get it fixed at home! But I do have many fond memories of working on things with my (now gone) father and it makes me happy to think my boys will have the same memories of me.

I remember so many times he'd put safety gear on me before we built whatever. Telling me to watch my fingers. Oh my gosh you sent me backwards remembering my childhood!!! The bad , your going to need back in the control box . Mine has never been sealed , box has been free of condensate every time I opened it . I have more desire to seal control arm , it has had condensation every time it has been opened . My FM500 is nearly 20 years old , putting new motor in as a maintenance soon . My wife loves it ,so it is a high priority for me . May God bless your family

A friend of mine who run a home business next door to me in the UK, often had large parcels delivered, he was quite embarrassed about how many times I took parcels in for him (although it did not bother me) when he was out/away so he had a very large delivery box secured to the ground on his property for the delivery people to use when he was not home, how it worked was he left a snap lock type padlock (open) inside the empty box which the delivery people could use to lock the box up after placing the delivery inside the box, this worked very well for him and saved his worrying about me.

As a former mail carrier, the best postal patron's idea was a large mailbox on a wagon wheel laying on it's side flat and a huge metal box right next to it to fit in large parcels because they received a lot of them. They had two sets of them laying on top of the wagon wheel 180° apart and I assume because they had a small business. The wheel was anchored on a big `ol tree stump and was able easily to spin completely around. If they hadn't picked up the mail from the previos day all I had to do was spin the wheel for both the other empty mail box and large parcel box.
It was a win-win for the both of us.

They've gotten better since this new mailbox was added, but will still ding any large-ish packages as undeliverable and we have to go pick them up. Several times they're not even large and would have fit in the box fine.

Sam, great involving your son, good job. It is easier if you put dry concrete mix in the hole and tamp it, then add some water. Usually there’s enough moisture in the soil that you don’t even have to add moisture to get the concrete to harden. Plus the bottom hinge is upside down. The bottom hinge is supposed to point down so no one can just pick up the gate off of the hinges and get in your property. I really enjoy your channel keep up the good work.

Ahhhh.....we too have a love-hate relationship with our post person's vehicle. (I think she likes hitting our box with her side mirror) We'd put up a new box and 6 months later the lid is swinging by one pin. The hubs put the box back from the road another few feet. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months. The gate looks great and will keep "feral" vehicles from straying in. Watching you with your son reminded me of me and my pop. He taught me about setting fence posts, driving the tractor, and keeping things level and plumb...skills that last a lifetime. :)

My brother uses "Good Enough for Government Work" quite a bit. Also, your comment about the storage tote growing wild on your property also reminded me of him. Very similar humor.
I put up a pretty abused gate (but free to me) a few years ago after fencing in the back yard for the dogs. Well, the free gate had been driven over and was mashed and rusted. It is now to the point of falling apart, so I'm going to have to get another gate to replace it. The one I would like to get is galvanized with fencing already on it, but runs ~$200 currently. Just not sure if I will pull the trigger.
