Fibreglassing, Fuel Polishing and Checking Into Luperon!! (S2 E13 Barefoot Sail and Dive)

- This week's episode of Barefoot Sail and Dive we continue with some fibreglassing work! Davy has filled up that massive hole in the side of the boat and it is ready for painting!
When we did our crossing from Puerto Rico to Luperon we had a few issues with our fuel tank so we had a couple come on board with their fuel polishing equipment!
Nothing huge was found in the tank but maybe we have fixed the problem!!
And FINALLY we get to check into the country! Thank you Dominican Republic for giving us safe harbour until we were able to check in!
It is a fantastic feeling to be allowed to go into town!

The boat repair looks fantastic Davy! Good to hear that you are able to get out and about in town. 29 days being isolated had to be very difficult for the two of you. It was nice to see you both still upbeat about the whole ordeal. Thank you for the update. Stay safe!

Nice glass work on the hull, maybe if possible you can get enough epoxy & glass to rebuild the port side cabin roof, take care.
We should have enough on board for that but we have another big project coming up too!
Nice repair, hey no gelcoat required! Way to hard to make nice as a pos application. I would just paint with quality paint and way better UV durability and matchability as you do the other repair jobs ! FYI ' Hatteras power yacht ' were painted with Imron paint for years ( after completely finishing the boat!)

Yes we are considering a different type of paint compared to gel coat. But we will most likely do that when we have finished all the repairs on the top side! Still lots to go! Lol

We like Luperón so far. We love the fact that it is a hurricane hole. Especially during the current pandemic we are very lucky to be somewhere safe!

Good to see the lock down is slowly lifting ! , what’s the plan with the mast / sails ? Is that on the near distant horizon 😬
We are not sure just yet! Lots of other projects we are planning to do first.
Now that we are checked in we may look around and see if there are any masts here!
