Honestly I think it could’ve been higher by the juries at the last moment. I didn’t saw it qualifying and I thought the music wasn’t it but as it advanced I guess it could’ve get a higher spot
I can absolutely see how this can be understood as generic and copied from other years performances. There is an audience for this song, especially for people who quickly get caught up in the voice and catch on the problems touched with the lyrics. The problem is that he has no good stage performance, and this needs to be fixed at Eurovision or Latvia might not qualify again because if we just look at the song and his vocals, it is really good and one of the better ballads this year. More or less same performers with same Eurovision song "formula" (designed to please more broad audience) always running for this, if not participating with their songs then playing judges or presenting... :D Probably same people voting as well... I'm a grown up and I find this boring and unimaginative. It's very 90s Eurovision ballad. Passé doesn't even start...
