Nice topic to discuss..... Besides of learning new words so as to increase vocabulary, it also explains nice terms used informally, like "Minefield" for instance...... Now, concerning the topic, I agree that texting rather than talking can become a real issue when you need to express emotions especially, which is something that texting can't express fully. In my case I tried to use the cell phone just a few times throughout the day, especially on public transportation.
Thank you so much for all these videos you're making and uploading, especially now during this worldwide pandemic. I know that U.K. has begun to apply a vaccine, but it doesn't mean that it is over, we all still need to take measures as long as this situation continues in our respectives countries. Sincerely, I Hope to visit your country when all this situation comes to an end, and drinks some pints there.
Take care yourselves. Greetings and hugs from Santiago, Chile.

    1. Generation Z like to talk with thumbs rather than voice.
    2. When we are texting people, we have no idea about the people's intonation in text. But here in Indonesia, we usually add more duplicate vocal letters in text to emphasis intonation.
    3. I have an intention is to marry her. Insyaallah.
    4. There are lots of phrases we can use to talk in English.
    5. In this pandemic situation, meeting people online is better than meeting people in person.
    6. Someone will get annoyed if you text him without a good manner such as just typing "p p p p" like some of Indonesians do.
    7. Due to UU ITE, you have to tread on mines in social media if you are Indonesian netizen.

Forfunately, texting message on my cell phone is not as usually as the others would. Texting appears to be one of the most popular instant activities in our life and we would usually message someone on phone most of the time instead of getting hold of somebody. Usually, we communicate with the others through emails, letters and whatsapp. However, a sword has two faces. One of the biggest disadvantages is that people are becoming less and less people's person because we got less and less chances for face~to~face communication. Sometimes, we might be afraid of having presentation in front of someone because we are kinda petrified to communicating with the others.

    • @snehachauhan21_17
      @snehachauhan21_17 4 года назад

Indeed, now we are so used to it that whenever we get chance to communicate with others we just refuse bcoz of the nervousness or being afraid .
Anyways do you find any advantage in texing ?

It is a big problem. A few years ago I had a bad habit of texting somebody or just scrolling feedback even if I talked with my friends face to face. One day I was walking with my friend and she quarrelled with me because I was silent and just texted with my other friends. After that, I decided that I should get rid of this habit. I think that people should pay more attention to their interlocutors and people which you are texting with at that moment can wait.

    practice:
Intonation is lost in texting, so there can be some misunderstanding.
We should avoid misunderstanding the intention of the people on the other side of the screen.
    I prefer communication in person.

I disagree with the two points this video is trying to make:
    1. people don't express themselves in writing as they do in speech. Intonation is only one way to convey emotions (do you read literature at all?). It is not lost but rather replaced. Teenagers might not understand it at first, but after a couple of misunderstandings they will adapt, as we all have.
    2. Contrary to a live spoken message, a text message or a recorded spoken message benefits from permanent storage: the recipient of the message doesn't need to be available at the time you are writing/recording, which means that you can respond at any time. This automatically gives priority to communication channels which don't benefit from permanent storage such as face to face communication.
