    my note while listening
    Some people choose to have a walk in a green open space such as in the countryside which helps to relax and destress, especially for people suffering from mental health issues (clinical depression). Getting close and connecting to nature is like a tonic for us to feel more positive and be healthier.
    Today’s topic is about ecotherapy which is a formal
    type of treatment involving outdoor activities in nature.
    According to Patricia Hasbach, a clinical psychotherapist, she thinks ecotheraphy as a powerful tool to get people to develop their relationships with natural world without any medication. However, it’s not panacea which can erase grief and pain completely.
    From the view of Birgitta Gateesleben, a environmental psychologist, she explains biophilia is basically the way we’re innate to respond to the green space and nature. To be specific, our negative feelings are replaced by positive emotions in the natural environment.

    I agree that connecting with nature can help to relax and de-stress. If I feel down in the dumps, I go outside and have a long walk until I’m tired, or ride a bike in the countryside. My mother does gardening and she always says that, if I felt deadly upset and depressed, I should go to the garden and work. In the evening you wouldn’t have grim thoughts, you just would be extreme tired) nature is a working tool to calm down.

    Hello to both of you , Hi Everyone
    Once again, I can't help thinking how much English is similar to French. Look at :
    Tonic = Tonique
    Horticulture = Horticulture
    Panacea = Panacée
    Therapeutic = Thérapeutique
    Innate = Inné
    Thanks. Cousins 🙂

    • @bbclearningenglish
      @bbclearningenglish  5 лет назад +5

      Hi Cousin! Yes, we do share a common foundation it seems. It's really convenient when we want to learn one another's languages, for sure!
      Thanks for sharing the French with us so that we can learn as well! 👍

      French is also similar to Hindi. Hindi is a language which is widely spoken in India. For example, Tu = Tu; Savon = Saboon; Nom = Naam; Ananas = Ananas (Pineapple)

      @nawarnawar5822 5 лет назад +1

      Hi. Though English and French share so many words that are almost the same , but both languages come from different origins or roots.
      The English language is part of Germanic languages, but the French language is part of Romance languages
      The structure and word order are different.

    • @brigittesaint-pe2604
      @brigittesaint-pe2604 5 лет назад +1

      @@nawarnawar5822 Hello
      The Duke of Normandy invaded Great Britain in 1066 and was crowned King of England. The French language therefore became very important in this country and left an indelible mark.
      So, English has latin roots too, not only german roots. The vocabulary is very similar to the French vocabulary . Only the structure of the sentences is different and their conception of Time. The perfect present and their different futures are a bit complicated for the French.

    ecotherapy is an alternative medical method which we leave the hectic lifestyle in the city and connect to natural environment. It has proven to be tonic and help us de-stress.
    Biophilia is a innate tendency towards nature. We can start with doing arts in forests or wander around parks
