From my experience in school, most students are night owls. I'm the opposite. I love waking up at the crack of dawn and commuting as early as possible. Early in the morning, the landscapes are amazing. In my country, nights are a bit dangerous and you're prone to be robbed and suffer chronic injuries. I'd better live in peace.

Yes, it seems to us that lots of students like to stay up late. But... we're not sure if that's because they're night owls or just because they have left their homework until the last minute! 😂😂😂

I'm a medical student, and although I know that a night owl has more risks of chronic diseases than an early bird, I still am a night owl. Because I have to learn a big knowledge from medical university, I don't have time and I can't wake up in the early morning. It seems to be so fun when a doctor advises patients don't sleep too late, the doctor does it oppositely.

But now, I have changed my routine. I sleep at 11 pm and wake up at 6.am. Then, I ride a bike for 30 minutes, eat breakfast and enjoy a cup of coffee. I decided to avoid anything prone to my life. Several years ago, I was an early bird. I woke up early in the morning to exercise and go running. At that time, my health was extremely good, both mental and physical. However, I am gradually addicted to social media, like TikTok and Facebook, so I almost stay up late every single day. I realized that I was deteriorating in health. I frequently have headaches and become sedentary and stagnant in my leisure pursuits than I used to. Now I am endevouring myself to break my bad habits and lead a healthy and balanced life.

Even though staying up late is prone to some chronic diseases, I still think I can do my work more effectively and creatively at late nights. It may sound a bit ironic, but it works for me !
Besides, I reckon that being a night owl or an early bird may not be as considerable as assuring that you have adequate 7-8 hours of sleeping for a day. For those whose jobs require to work at night such as flight attendants or doctors, their biological clock must be flexible.

I’m usually a morning person since it brings me a lot of energy and a positive mind during the day. However, I can turn into a night owl when it is getting close to the final assignments. Staying up late helps me finalise the deadline better due to the cramped feeling and the high anxiety level that pushes me to work on the research and course concepts faster. Moreover, the quietness from midnight to early morning is a golden time for me to have my best focus. But I have to admit it’s not a strategy I would recommend to anyone. And I am still working on balancing my timetable to become an entire early bird, so that I don't have to constantly stay up late at night to the next morning.

Interesting and this is something that has been confirmed in many studies.
Being a night owl is not good because human body works with a biological clock that make us morning people.
Staying up late at night is something that make you more prone to have chronic life-threating conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
Thanks BBC. These kind of reviews are amazing!

I'm used to be an 'early bird to catch a train from Lucern to Zurich for work and gone to bed early at 9:30. After 26 years long working, I got a heart disease which doctors have been unable to find out. I have do not smoked nor have I drunk either. I have been very active guy since I was a child. Sometimes, I doubt about scientific research.

I'd like to sleep early. But plan is pretty easier than acting. Right now it's 2:51PM in Korea. I should get a sleep. and unfortunately it's so hard to get a sleep when I decide to do it.
I think late nights is prone to break routine of the day. Usually people have their own routine in a day, which is usually decided by society. From the past, people get up early because of the sun, which was the only light in the world. And until now, society follow this rules. So, the point is that late nights is harmful.

I am a night owl these days but want to try to be a early riser after watching this video.
Although I don't have any chronic disease, it is really important to go all out for my health :)
In spite of being prone to failure of sleeping early, let me try again from today
    Great ! BBC :)

I'm usually a morning person since it brings me a lot of energy and a positive mind during the day. But I have to admit it's not a strategy I would recommend to anyone. Than u

Yes, I stay up late these days because I got depressed. I became a Night Owl. However, I get up early in the morning. Sometimes, I can't even sleep for 5 hours at night. So, I am prone to get chronic diseases than others do.Anyway, I hope I will be okay soon.

As a Night Owl type of person, it feels like staying up all night is staking my current health for my future goal which is highly related to my future comforts..
But when it becomes habitual, when it comes to having my own time for focusing, it is so hard to change it, for sure...
