Thank you for this, didn't know double eye needles existed, just wondering whether they would work on an old Bernina with fancy stitches, I love the variegated thread.
Bought my first double eye needle today - a bit leery at first - have a janome 6500 and didnt want to break my favorite toy ! So thank you for the video - now onward !!
Thank you for this information. There's. very little available on double eye needles. I needed to see how to thread the machine. This was very clear and easy to understand.
Thank you I have learnt something new. Only became aware when this showed up on my Amazon search for needles. Most enquiries direct me to twin needle so it seems that not many people know of double eyed needles; there is so little info on it. I would be happy for your feedback:1. Can I use this needle in a Brother Sewing Machine. 2. Also do they come in different sizes? I imagine it would give a fantastic topstitch. 3. Do the threads tangle at all?
I think they come in just the one size and require a certain weight of thread. It states on the packet. I love playing about with different needles. Have fun sewing and thanks for your comment.
Thanks for the information on the double eye needle, never heard of them until today. And I will be getting me some. Can't wait to try them. Happy sewing.
That was smashing! Thank you so much for posting this tutorial, I really enjoyed it. The needle is something I've never seen. I really liked it with the varigated thread too.
Thank you for this video! Very helpful! I have been basic sewing for years, but beginning to branch out now that I have more time! Keep the videos coming!
You're going to have so much fun playing around and experiencing different things. I've been quilting for a while and now got back into garment making again. Thank you sonmuch for your comment. Cassie.
No, I have manual machines (not computerized). One is a vintage New Home from the 80's. I also have a Janome Harmony 1017, and a Singer Heavy Duty 4322. All are low shank and use snap-on feet so they can and do share presser feet.I guess I could use a satin stitch foot and choose a decorative stitch using the variegated threads. I also need to get a lightweight thread and a couple wing needles.😊
Hi Cassie, just yesterday, in one video I saw one demo on sewing with Triple neecle, just like Twin needle. Do you too, have it? I am so excited to tonyry with Triple needle also Schemetz brand & Universal brand. But, i have been lookung for it in Amazon & Flipkart. Its not shown at all. In that video, it was used with Bernina sewing machine. Then, I browsed Bernina website. It was mentioned, they deal in accessories of Husqvama, Paff including Singer. Then, if it is for Singer sewing machine, then , I guessed, it may work with brother sewing machine also. What's your opinion on this.?.
@@FaodailCreationThanks! i looked a bit online. Have you found them? I'm thinking of fabric Land I'm in the Toronto area I think I will have to do more research 🧐

Thank you... I wasnt sure what the double eye needle did (even though I've got one!) . Is it right that metallic threads need to be in an upright position, like you have here, rather than sideways, to make it run better? I've heard several differing opinions. Thank you again!!
@@FaodailCreationI thought so as I've had a bit of tangling and breaking with it on the side. I've been wondering about getting one of those spool stands, so I think you've clinched it! I love your videos
@@vivlee3840 some colors appear to be worse than others with the holographic thread. Either that or the store has had them too long and they have become dry and can snap.
The polyester thread looks like it is not threaded how one normally would thread with one thread needle, so question is, when threading did you leave the polyester thread loose and the holographic thread tucked behind the thread catch above the needle?
Hi Tess, thanks for your comment. I threaded the needle in the same way as with one needle. I also think you might be right that one thread should have been tucked behind the thread catch number 6 on the babylock and the other loose. If any probably best tucking the holographic. Sorry about that and thanks for the suggestion.
The colour of the thread varies, it doesnt change. Its not colour changing tnread its variegated thread. You can mix them up, but dont conflate the two.
I tried the double eye last night with fushia in the top eye and brown in the bottom eye. With a straight stitch I really could only see the fushia thread. Maybe I’ll try a decorative stitch.
Debbie Reed I covered the leaver and I can't remember now which video it was. It's for when your quilting instead of pressing the accelerator foot you use your knee.
Your video is the closest I've some to seeing how the double needle is threaded, but the video cuts off the top of the machine as you were threading the holographic thread, so I could not really see it. Is it being threaded in exactly the same manner as the first thread? (and in the same slots?) How does it not bind up? I sure hope you come back and answer this, the internet is BARREN (including RUclips) of any information on the double-eyed needles, save for you and a 28 second "stitching" video that shows nothing else. PLEASE help me! 😂

I tried the double eye needle last night. Seems like whatever color is put in the top eye ends up being more visible than the bottom color.
Thank you very interesting
Thank you for your comment
A first for me. I've never saw a double eye needle. Still wondering how the hook picks up both threads ...
Oh it can't, you have to thread manually
I can’t get it to sew with both threads ,, what thread should I have in the bobbin?
Oh really, all I had in the bobbin was regular poly thread.
Can we quilt with this needle?
No I personally would do that.
What presser foot did you use and is it low shank snap-on foot?
I think I used the regular j foot for this do you have a soprano?

So I have tried the double eye Faodall, but its not picking up the top thread in the bobbin - just the bottom thread ? Need your help please ! Thanks
When you threaded the needle was the needle and pressure foot up?

It is better to have them upright, they unravel better as they sew. They have a tendency to twist so having them on a separate stand is also better.

One thread goes into the lower hole and the other into the upper hole. The needle basically give the affect of variegated thread
