    This is so accurate, specially when my provider said "you will just have to wait it out" . Which made me sad 😢. Well it's been 8 months, I now have facial movement, but with synkinesis , and I've seen 2 physical therapist, and yes they both just printed me facial exercises from Google. But after watching a few of your videos , and trying of some of the massages, I felt a major difference in my face muscles. I am looking forward to more information, and considering a consultation with you. Thank you, doctor!

    My rubbish doctors in Canada could not tell if I had Ramsey hunt or Bell’s palsy. They only gave me steroids and no antibiotics. I remember I had red dots in my ear and I could not hear or taste properly. I had acupuncture with moving needles and Ayurvedic medicines, which helped alot . Things started to improve after 6 months. The Canadian doctors were rubbish. It’s now been 1.5 years, I’m 95% back to normal but my eye is tight when I smile. Maybe that’s syneisis But you cannot tell. All I can say is just try try try, don’t rely on GPs. This was a very horrible experience for me, but thank you for you videos, they helped me alot in that bad time. I am also vegetarian and I think I lacked B12, I feel taking a lot of B12 has helped too. Thank you once again, it’s was a very tough time for me.

      well antibiotics don't help with that, antivirals might be what you meant. what you are describing sounds like synkinesis. have you done facial rehab? performed targeted stretching? been coached in neuromuscular retraining activities to decrease the effect of your synkinesis? that is where I would start...

      I'm in Canada too and I have had nothing but disappointing experience after another. Nobody and I mean NOBODY in the medical field in my province can help or direct me to a specialist. I simply cannot believe there are no facial specialists that exist in this field. Last doctor told me to see a neurologist. Nope. Don't plan to. I'm done.

    I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy for over 10 years ago. It has greatly improved with exercises, but now I know it is called synkinese. I want my smile back. Are their special exercises that I can do or is there no hope of correcting this problem. If it can be corrected who do I see to help me. Thank you

    • @ButheauPhysiotherapy
      @ButheauPhysiotherapy  7 месяцев назад +2

      No special "Exercises"...what you need to work on depends on your presentation, which is unique... stretching what is tight, and retraining movement after more movement is allowed from stretching

    I heard you say electric stimulation is not a good thing for bells or ramsay hunt . My acupuncturist is doing electroacupuncture… is that a good thing to do or would you stick to basic acupuncture? 2nd time with facial paralysis this year so i would really like to know ? Thank you

    I got Bells Palsy over 5+ years ago. I never got proper treatment for it. 5+ years later i still have Synkinesis. I'd say my face is about 85-90% normal. Do you think it's too late to improve to get it closer to 100?

    • @ButheauPhysiotherapy
      @ButheauPhysiotherapy  3 месяца назад +1

      no it is not. I have seen people improve several decades after the onset of their facial palsy.

    Hi doctor , i just noticed I have synkinesis and it become worse every hour 💔 , plz tell me should I continue physical therapy (tens ) , i am 4 months diagnosed balls palsy

    • @ButheauPhysiotherapy
      @ButheauPhysiotherapy  7 месяцев назад

      TENS is not physical therapy, it is for pain , not muscular contraction....and the use of electrical stimulation is a contraindication with synkinesis. It is making your synkinesis worse.
