Finally ive been searching for such a video like this one for a while i just got my 6 speed home and i refuse to go to the r180 hubs since i also just bought new rims :D
Legacy h6 wagon has huge brakes I have to run 17s to clear them I put them on mine front and rear 11.6 front 11.5 rear rotors and vented% my car is 2,000lbs 85rx turbo sedan with the 06 gd swap and you can only run 5x100 or get custom hubs to fit the xt6 rear hubs with 5x114.3 pattern. I just rock the gold 5x100s and rally on
9:17 I'd recommend cleaning them up entirely in a bucket of mineral spirits. That axle grease is almost certainly old enough to have been superseded. You'll want to replace it with 28395AG030
Good one! I just got my first Impreza. It was abandoned. But I found the owner and bought it off him. I think the diff bearing is bad. So working out replacing it and perhaps swapping in a slip diff version. Still working out the R160/R180 differences
Removing the outer doj is a pain don’t get discouraged I use a wood block with a hole in it and a bigger hammer and it comes off. But I have ruined one or 2 because the circlip was siezed
I was just looking into this conversion for one of my projects. Thanks for filming this type of content. The lack of certain Subaru content is motivating me to do the same.

Zip tie works well actually. I use an old feeler gauge and wrap it around like a ring compressor

If you don’t have gloves then be prepared to wear the grease for a week or more
