  • Hello once again!
    This trip was a long time coming! My first ever 200 miler was Portsmouth to Plymouth, a long time ago. I'm going back, and really enjoyed this trip. I tried to take it a bit easier but you can only take it so easy over there, it is hilly...
    I tried something different filming wise, hope you're all well and enjoy watching. See you next time, andy

    Chapeau Andy, great ride and great video. Good vibes as you seemed to enjoy that. A fellow cyclist once said to me "chase the miles not the speed you will enjoy it more" thats the feeling I got watching your video 😁 well done 👏👏👏🚴‍♂️😎👍

    I just did the lands end 100 last weekend basically, follows the coast line from Marazion to Lands end, up to Portreath then across the peninsula to St Ruan it’s a stunning place to cycle and yes super hilly. The route through Sennen up the B3306 through Morvah was breathtaking. The steepest hill was definitely heading out of Mousehole another quintessential Cornish fishing village. Great video Andy glad to see you getting your mojo back 🙂

    Ahah! Glad you got that cream tea in the end! I was just thinking before you actually said it that this adventure must’ve been good for the soul. Almost needed? I dunno, get the vibes from you that you missed being out there whilst you were recovering - really happy to see you back at it. Love the format btw mate, great watching.

    Great video Andy. Very cinematic and atmospheric. Dartmoor is definitely one of my favourite places too. Hired a Morgan for me and my wife’s 30th anniversary and drove around the national park. Magical! Just got to muster the energy to ride my bike there next!

    Excellent film Andy. Enjoyed the ‘B-roll’ footage and did feel for you having to double up some of those climbs to film them. Suffering for your art 😬. I’m Exeter based and think you missed the Quay and it’s many coffee options…next time. The county (and Cornwall) has many great climbs…I just ride slower and tell myself I’m having fun…which I usually am. 4.31 in the soundtrack was very ‘Good the Bad and the Ugly’ style. Brilliant. Thanks mate.

    Great video Andy 👍. Cornwall, defo need to take the climbing legs for that place, maybe a spare set 😀. Often been told it’s the hardest part of LEJOG due to the climbs. And Somerset Levels, right on my doorstep, it’s a lovely place but has a downside…. Is great at making us lazy cyclists due to its pan flat nature. Glad you enjoyed your trip, great to see it 😊👍👍

    Just a tip. You don't need to point the camera at yourself every time you are speaking. You can give a commentary. We know what you look like. Would prefer to see your surroundings or what ever you are talking about rather than you. "Point the bloody camera at it!!!" Your videos would flow a lot better if you did this.

  • @arturduarte113

    Thanks for another great video. I'd like to ask about the wheels you use on your bike, I believe they're the DT Swiss ER1600 (?) - are you happy with them overall, and hv they got the son dynamo hub power source to charge lights/gadgets?
    On another of your videos you mentioned an old wheel set damaged in a pot hole - what wheels were/are they ? If you don't mind me asking.
    I ride very long distances myself, all day rides frequently. I've got a set of all road/gravel alloy wheels, they're ok, but a little heavy. So I'm thinking of buying a better set - just looking for opinions to help me make a decision on what to go for. Spoilt for choice but prices a little too high for my budget. Hence requires a thorough search. Thank you. 👍🚵‍♂️

    • @andycultracycling
      @andycultracycling  5 дней назад +1

      Hey, on my Mason I have the ER1600 with Son28 dynamo. The one that broke was E1800 and that hit a very nasty pot hole while chainganging at 2am so not the smartest idea. I like these wheels b ut I'll probably just try to get a slightly lighter setup for next year. That said, it isn't going to save a lot, this ER1600 is way worth the money and easy to service. I can pull the freehub apart on the road easy if any issues
