I was in high school when India won world cup in 1983. Those days Kapil was everybody's hero and I guess even now. I watched cricket only to see him bowl and bat. The man is a legend. I stand in awe even after so many years. There is nobody in the entire goddamn world of cricket that matches Kapil Dev in the way he played, carried himself, motivated the country and won games...nobody period. I respect other cricketers for their talents. But Kapil is the LEGEND.

There was no need to bring out religions here. When Azhar went out to bat nobody even thought about his religious identity. He was the batsmen and captain of India. Its only after these 20 years, we are seeing unnecessary references to religion in fields such as sports.

It’s because of people like Rajdeep who like to see everyone in the lights of religion, caste, creed etc. The idea of nation first and identifying everyone as an Indian just doesn’t appeal to their existence.
