I discovered the real Truth behind Ghost Villages in Uttarakhand

- Ghost villages are not something we should be scared of, instead it's a place we should care about.
The story covered in this video is just a glimpse of what people face in the ghost villages. For us the hills are a representation of seclusion and tranquillity, and the phenomena of migration is seen as a simple villager leaving their idyllic home for a city full of people and pollution. But what we fail to see that villages are communities and work only as communities. If even a third of the village is gone, it becomes difficult for the rest to stay back and put the pieces back together.
Major Gorki Chandola and his family has revived their ancestral village (Rawat gaon) which turned into Ghost village in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Many people tried doing the same but it's really difficult considering the topography of hilly areas in Uttarakhand.
I really hope to meet the Major soon and share his courageous story with all of you!

I am from uttarakhand...a proud rongpa and gadwali .....Tho ghost villages are not much here (in my district) but the numbers are terrifying because we are losing our culture....thanks to desi culture and hindi being imposed on us and also the shitty governments which fail to make laws like landlaw and making gadwali/kumaoni etc a state language....I would like to say to my fellow people-

Mi ta Rudraprayag ku cho, takh bhi palayan hoyu par jyada dikkat ni cha abhi.
Abhi to sabse jyada jaruri hai ki yeh bewkoof sarkar wale bhu kanoon implement kare jaldi se jaldi. Aur yeh paper leak ko roke. Jo log Uttarakhand se bahar rehte hai ya pahado mein nhi rehte woh log apne ancestoral village aur gharo ka renovation karwaye. Aur saal mein 2-3 baar wapas aaye.

It's true. I just visited pauri garhwal. It's too beautiful. People left their villages for employment to other places. We can do farming of kiwi, oranges and dragon fruit in pauri garhwal as these fruits are citric and monkeys don't like them. We will also planing to do farming of these fruits

Hello Shweta, I am from Uttarakhand, as uncle told you that people are migrating from villages of Uttarakhand, it is true and whenever I see or hear in any video that people are migrating from villages of Uttarakhand , so I feel sad, recently I talked to my family members in my village, they said that the village has become very empty and there is a lot of peace, now there is nothing like before, so it was feeling bad. Hearing that in the village where once many people used to live together. Today they have become deserted but I am forced to live like this, I myself stay away from my village because I have nothing to do, so how can I stay there, I was thinking something like this for many days that again the same environment What to do to make or what to do from the village!
Visit KULDHARA village in Rajasthan, specially Amavasya night, will be interesting.

Govt should handover these towns to trekking companies and they should use these villages for tourist stays and trekkers adventure stays.which generate huge revenue and villages will be saved.also use as destination wedding spots.

@@Shiv_Ki_Pujaran , visit himachal pradesh. Uttrakhand has nothing. If you want to see traditions and dresses then, visit himachal pradesh and Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Rest of the Uttrakhands dresses are made for special occasions. And if you want to see religion in very different form then visit Uttrakhand.
Uttrakhand lost most of its culture because of migration. Traditional homes are becoming rare or they are left abandoned. While there is good number of traditional homes present in himachal pradesh.
If you want to taste food then visit village areas of both states. Some villages have open "stay homes" in their villages for tourists. And many tourists used to come there from gujrat, Maharashtra, Bengal, Rajasthan, delhi.
I don't know much about himachal but I would recommend, if come Uttarakhand. Must visit Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, Bageshvar, almora district of Uttrakhand.

Reason for ghost villages is only and only lack of basic facilities and employment opportunities.
Employment kaha se ayega jab system se hi nhi ladna hai logo ko. Bass punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun bhaagte raho aur emplyment ki ummid rakho. Aise mein jo bache hue pariwar hai unpar bhi government investment nhi karna chahegi. Uttrakhand ke log sochte hai bahar jaa kar unhe sab milega. Ulta unke yaha UP, Bihar se log aakar acha earn kar rahe hai aur land purchase kar rahe hai. Himachal ko hi dekh lo waha se koi migration nhi hota. Sarkaro ko dosh dene se pahle sabko pahle khud se sawal karna chahiye.

1 politician - uttrakhand ko alag state bahut late bnaya jab LPG reform aa gaye the or productive population migrate kr gai
2. Local people - log jada preference dene lg gaye hai bahar k traditional and culture ko jise vo khud k place ki value kam kr rahe hai, investment la nhi pa rahe hai structure development ho nhi Raha hai
Actually humare yahan development bahut late hain and pahad ki life easy nahi hai. I think jiski wajah se logo ko migrate karna pada.

The real reason of migration is unemployment, lack of health facilities, not have gud education but still people live their so have to appreciate that. Agricultural facilities not available so farmer that is the main reason for why people not farming their.
