TRIP REPORT | To Mallorca with German Tourists! | CONDOR Boeing 757 | Dusseldorf to Mallorca

- Condor Trip Report flying from Dusseldorf to Palma de Mallorca onboard one of the Condor Boeing 757 on a lovely summer early morning.
A comfortable flight from Dusseldorf to Mallorca onboard the Condor Boeing 757. There are not many 757 flying in Europa nowadays and Condor is the only operator of the longest variant of this classic plane: the Boeing 757-300W.
We arrived early at Dusseldorf airport. Based on our last experience 2 years ago at this same time, I didn't want to risk another 2h in a queue. Surprisingly, this time everything went super smooth. No delays at all at the controls. The lines for check-in luggage, however, were still there. But not as long as I remembered them.
We finished boarding ahead of the scheduled time of departure but due to a slot, we departed slightly late. That turned out to be great, as we departed with the Sunrise. It's amazing how the Boeing 757 climbs. It's known for being overpowered and today, during the initial climb, we could see it perfectly.
We flew southbound towards Luxembourg, Nancy, Geneva, and Marseille and we entered the Mediterranean Sea. From Marseille, we flew in direct course towards Mallorca. Due to the high volume of traffic arriving at that moment to Palma, we had to make a very long approach over the island that offered us some very nice views.

The Condor livery or even the whole plane with this kind of livery is called “Ringelsocke” by us Germans. In English it translates to “striped socks”.

The Boeing 757 is something I'd like to fly in the future. Hopefully I'll be able to do it. By the way, great video ad always!
I would advice you to not portpone it too much... I guess they will be retired within the next few years. In the US, however, looks like Delta and United will keep them slightly more.

Great report sir, regarding European 757 operators here in the UK we have Jet2 still thankfully operating the 757s. As for the new Condor Colour scheme, personally it's horrible. The old colour was far more pleasing and classy, the new version makes Condor look like a cheap outfit and the cost to keep the many different versions of this must be a crazy management idea as it's so impracticable.
I dont know how I could forgot about the Jet2 B757s... I was really tired last week, and I guess that"s why I also forgot to talk about how overpowered the B757 is. 🫠
It`s my beloved homeairport and - yes - the situation at the airport has vastly improved! The remaining problems are not limited to Düsseldorf but to German passengers in general: They are mostly not reading or disregarding information, not listening to announcements, bringing oversized and/or too many cabin-baggage, not following/understanding even the easiest boarding procedures and therefore leading to an mostly very slow boarding process 😵💫! But - as always - great video 🙂!

In past years, we traveled by Condor from San José, Costa Rica to Frankfurt with some frequency. And always on their unbeatable Boeing B757s by the way.

Can't understand people who complain about the upcoming A321XLR. Those people would probably complain even harder if they would have to fly long distance on an even smaller private jet, like a Gulfstream.
I really enjoy flying on the Boeing 757! Especially in front of the engines! The sound is just amazing!
I love Condor. You get what you are paying for. A normal holiday airline. Service etc is in general very consistent with Condor. Only thing i observed is that they more and more rely on chartered planes/airlines for service and that is a threat to the consistency i mentioned.

True, the thing is that the demand is so big that they don't have enough planes to operate al what they want, so they need to lease other companies to do it for them.
It’s because of re development of the whole Condor medium and long distance fleet from Boeing 767 to Airbus a330neo and because the 767 retirement the have not enough planes the same in future with Medium fleet B757,A320.A321 to A320neo and A321neo

El 757 un excelente avión, volé varias veces en ese modelo, la comodidad era insuperable, llegué a volar la ruta CDMX- Mexicali y Mexicali-CDMX con la desaparecida Mexicana de Aviación. Cometió un gran error Boeing al dejar de producirlo con este modelo muy bien pudo darle batalla a Airbus (A321XLR), claro que actualizando la versión del 757.
Un B757MAX sería ideal para competir con el A321NeoXLR... pero claro, es muy fácil predecir el pasado 😅😅

Es de hace unas semanas, un mes ya, tal vez.
Una pena que los 757 dejaran de producirse y sin embargo siguieran evolucionando los 737. Es algo que nunca entenderé.

A toro pasado es fácil verlo... pero lo cierto es que el momento de parar su producción fue sin duda la decisión acertada...
Visto desde aquí, un Boeing 757 MAX habría sido perfecto para competir con el A321NeoXLR.

He volado varias veces con el 757-300 de DE tanto hacia Mallorca quanto hacia Grecia..Es bestial y lo adoro..Tambien el 757-200 de Jet2..Para mi la nueva pintura es horrible, pero no se puede hacer nada sobre eso..Estas seguro de que ese avion tiene 262 asientos porque el sitio de Condor dice 275

Me too. I got there with an Condor A320 started from Nuremberg. But the final approach to Mallorca was quite windy but the pilots handled it well.

The new livery of Condor? To me it looks like a highway maintenance vehicle or a really slender traffic cone. Your breakfast looked somewhat decent, kind of, almost. People clapping after landing....I never understood that. Just tell the pilot "Hey great job of not crashing".
Clapping after landing is so common among German tourists......😝!
Based on my experience flying, in general people dont clap for that reason, but because they ate happy to be at their destination. It usually happens on holiday destinations flights.

You said that the initial climb of the boeing 757 is extreme and that you will talk about it on later ,in vain you Didn't with respect !?
B757 however well they are painted are getting old now and it seemed in the video to be so much more noisy than an A321 or especially a Neo.
