Haha! Well, I'm not sure about others, I think once authors start churning out books, they're typically in with an agent, at which point there's a copy editor, and other people involved in the "machine" - but for the little guys, it's one way to get the story ready for public consumption, you know? And yeah, trusting people. I have heard stories about "beta readers" stealing what was sent, and publishing it as their own, so caution out there! If you decide to go the Beta Reader route, you best shoot me a message, sir, I'd be happy to help you out!
