This game is the GOAT, and so was the 1998 world cup .. sorry but games and sport arent nowhere near as cool and exciting as they used to be, nothing is, movies, music etc .. maybe im getting old.. but nobody will look back in 25 years at the fifa 2021 intro with a tear in their eye.. this is straight up a time portal, take me back any day.. if you werent here, you missed out on one hell of an era, the 90's were undoubtably the best time of our lives.

From alex kidd, rainbow islands, and psycho fox, over kawasaki superbikes and grandslam tennis that I played with my mother, to France 98. I am 38 now, and I ponder a lot about life and time, ever since but lately even more. You really nailed it with the time portal comparison. Nothing is more a time portal than video games that one played as a kid. Those unfamiliar feelings deep inside that can't be recreated nowadays. Those blurry memories. Those chain reactions in one's memory when you see something that has been forgotten for decades. A time portal. That's what describes it best, thank you. My current fear is that our life is not tangible at all. We have been 5 years old, 12 years old, 18 years old. We knew time flies. We knew we get older. But now we ARE 35, 40, 45. Soon we wake up at 60 or 70. As nothing has ever happend, but still everything is in our memory. I know that's what it is, but it feels so unreal. It feels as if somebody else lived my life when I was a kid. And in 40 years, it will have been my whole life. Imagine being remembered about those video games when you are 80. How could one cope with these emotions. And in fact, it's in the blink of an eye.

No matter it was a war in my country (Bosnia) and my city (Sarajevo) But, that music, those movies, that games - Sega, Game Boy, Super Nintendo and PS1..... And sports of course...... Trust me...... Those analog years were pretty much better. Now in these decades and Years..... We can only expect Armageddon or some much worse catastrophy. The 90s were the years of hope for a world peace. But unfortenatly, evil spirits from Balkans, from Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo, Somalia in Africa, spreads all over the world and many suffers a lot.......
Good or semi-decent title; honestly, after years of mediocre EA Sports and Konami monopolies I am truly ready for Sega or Atari to come knocking with their own Futbol or Soccer video game titles.

I was waiting the entire day my grandfather to coming back from work because i want him to watch the incredible goal i scored, and because you can't save your goal i stop playing for like 2 or 3 hours waiting for him, and when he came back, he take a look 1 sec, say "hmm hmm nice" and doesn't care more 😂 its a good memory to me, love this game in my childhood 😊

The nostalgia on this!! My first ever World Cup and after watching it I played this game every day all summer. The soundtrack was brilliant and Tubthumping is one of my favourite songs still. Had fun playing classic World Cups and loved the training mode with blatant fouls too 😂
Bought a flat at 20 years old (47 now) and within weeks bought a copy of this game.... my flat was basically a base camp for my gaming mates for 4 years... we even made up our own tournaments to this game, along with spreadsheets and customised yearly player stats / phrases / nicknames... every mate that was there at that time will remember this game...❤
Easily my favorite soccer/football game, after 2002 World Cup. I played it endlessly. Funny how at that age and in that time, the graphics and the entire presentation was so cool...and now...really you wonder how the hell anyone could play something like this. :D Good times, it's always more fun when you're young.

I actually requested FIFA 98 back in the day for my Dad to get me as a gift for my Birthday, but instead he got me World Cup 98 but I'm glad he did because from what I've seen it runs better than the original game.
