    Japan can play in the semiconductor industry anytime.They have the money and technology.

    according to John Mearsheimer's theory, the economy might can transfer/translate it into the military might. But my question is: why did the U.S. force Japan to sign the 'Plaza Accord' so aggressively, as Japan has 0 military might because there are large U.S. troops deployed inside the Japan.

    It boggles the mind as to why the word "insurance" is used .. Insurance denotes a sure thing .. why people pay for it in the first place .. The two Japanese efforts discussed certainly do not suggest guaranteed success at all .. Not exactly wild goose chases, but certainly not insured to succeed.
