At the very end of the video you’ll see the MX-69s end up not working. I was able to figure out why! The camera doesn’t have enough clearance to be on the inside without some space between the MX-69 parts.
Can you recommend a tool list as well? I havent done any sort of electronics work. (Plug and play PC build and worked on cars, never touched electrical)Might be a good quick video to make on going through all the tools you use to build your unit with links as well as a showcase of what you get per kit with a link to your website.
Just started printing the gen 4 tubes. I have a Chromebook that's a pain in the ass for opening .3mf files, but I was able to upload the files to onshape and then download the individual files. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can get all the hardware off your site and the electronics off Amazon. I think I'm going to try casting the mx69 tubes in aluminum after I print them in polycast filament. I'm so fuckin jazzed to finally have the opportunity for some head mounted nvg's. Youre a brilliant madman to come up with this dude
How different is the wiring for the analog version, and is there somewhere I could get info on doing that? Total beginner to wiring electronics so anything helps.
So hear me out, I want to make it as afordable and simple as possible, so where can i get the housing that was broken, because i dont want to make MX-69 coz its just unnececary work for me, i will run only digital, adn its simpler to just not open everything and solider that much....
Vaseline is fine. All your trying to do is keep the oring lubed until it's installed. This guy is an aircraft mechanic who gets all the expired stuff for free. If this was something that had regular movement you would want a grease other than Vaseline for longevity. But as an installation lube it's fine.
@@zachsmith6928 I would still worry that Vaseline would shrink or dry out the o rings over time.. krytox is the right thing to use here why not use the intended lubricant?
@@matthewravo125 Your not wrong but, your missing your mark if you think people who are trying to build a $500 set of night vision are going to spend $25-50 on a tube of Krytox. Most cheap o rings your going to get are nitrite which most manufacturers actually recommend using Petroleum grease (vasiline is cheap and everyone already has it.)
Don't do this project!! I'm fairly decent with tech stuff and my build never worked, both analog and digital. I ran into a few snags where I emailed him directly for help. He responded a few times then didn't respond after a few follow up questions. DON'T DO IT!

Yeah dude, I felt the frustration on that! Glad you figured it out!!
I have one question, would it be possible to use the fma bridge housing at all, to house the solderings etc?
So how did you go about fixing the space problem?
@@Opinion123-no-walls slight tweaks in the Mx-69.2 and a complete redesign in the mx69.3
Printing the setup as we speak 💪 thank you for all the hard work you put in to all this bro. Cant wait to get these running
Awesome stream, thanks again for uploading this!!!*** happy to say I just ordered the kit!!! Can’t wait! 😊

Any chance your gonna bring back the aluminum mx69 housings? Looked all over your site and cant find them
Not for a while, I’m a very low budget webstore so I have to prioritize what I keep in stock

I think I explained in the first 2 minutes that’s they’re exactly the same housing
Is there any way I can pay you to build the Pvs69 for me?
Could you flatten two edges of the cone washer to allow you to grab a hold of them with a crecent wrench or pliers? Not super important but might help
Definitely could and if I remember correctly one member of the community made such a part
What is the website that you can order the kit from and the plans?
So can you use mx 10160 for the housing you build?
Can you use the v-760 displays? And can you have them digital?
Will the aluminum digital tubes be available for purchase if I want to build one of these my self?
The aluminum pieces for the tubes*
Potentially yes! They are quite a bit more expensive than MJF parts though
