    Please Note: Roger Moore is the fourth actor to play James Bond, not counting Barry Nelson in the original 1954 TV adaptation of Casino Royale; and George Reeves was the first actor to play Superman in a full-length feature film, not counting Kirk Alyn in the Atom Man. Vs. Superman serials.

      Please note: When you start the James Bond count with Sean Connery, Roger Moore was the SECOND actor to play James Bond. This was on July 17th, 1964 in an episode of Mainly Millicent. If you only count the official movies, then Moore is third, not the fourth or later.

    Shame on you for saying Johnny Depp has plenty of haters! He does not! In case you haven't checked, the overwhelming majority LOVE him. He stood up for all mankind against some heinous accusations and came out a winner! Many of us felt like he was going to bat for all the men who have been wrongly accused. All good wishes, Johnny!

      @Wolfie713 8 месяцев назад

      Even if you are right about "the overwhelming majority" loving him, that doesn't mean that he doesn't have plenty of haters. The word "plenty" doesn't mean majority, nor does it mean any percentage of a group. Less than 1% of the world population could hate him, but he could still have plenty of haters. Did you know that Depp is indirectly responsible for the murder of a girl? It's true.

    George Reeves wasn't the first actor to portray Superman. The first actor was Bud Collyer who voiced the Man of the Steel on the radio from 1940 - 1951. Collyer also voiced the character in the 1941 animated shorts produced by Max Fleischer; and would later voice the character again in the 1960s Superman/Batman cartoons produced by Filmation. The first actor to portray the DC Comics character in live-action was Kirk Alyn for the film serials SUPERMAN (1948) and ATOM MAN vs. SUPERMAN (1950). Actor, George Reeves would take over the role for the live-action film SUPERMAN AND THE MOLE MEN (1951). Reeves would continued to portray the character the following year on TV in "The Adventures of Superman" for five seasons, making him the first actor to portray Superman on television; as well as the first to portray the character in both film and television.

I have consulted several dictionaries and etymology resources (online and books) and the only "alternative" pronunciation I can find is in the language of its origin, Spanish with a place-name root in Basque, of "Javier" (Hav-ee-air), but no origin that suggests pronouncing the letter "X" and then the rest of the word. Please clarify.
      Side note: there are "X-rays," but note the hyphen: it was the name that their discoverer, Wilhelm Röntgen -- or "Roentgen" in English, a misspelling so English speakers won't, ironically, mispronounce his name! -- gave to them because they were "unknown." The Marvel people may have gone in whole hog on the mispronunciation of the professor's name in the movies because they thought audiences were too stupid to make the connection -- he's the leader of the "X-Men," of course. Again, though, note the hyphen in the "team name," so it IS pronounced as a letter there. He, however, is Professor Xavier ("Zay-vyer').

    Ridiculous actors who imagine they are a gift to acting and should not be seen as a body of work. Acting is not an intellectual exercise. While Moore otherwise had many years playing bond before actually getting the part. Had the longest run and did save the films from being grim.

      Daniel Craig has played James Bond for the longest period of time. Moore has made more movies them Craig.

      @Number6_ 8 месяцев назад

      @@killum109 that is nonsense. The only time your playing is when you are making a film. Otherwise Craig is someone else or unemployed. More films is more time in character. Moore was also the saint for years 1st. Craig was more like the Fleming character.

      Didnt Moore get offered the Bond part before Connery but chose to have a regular income from a TV series The Saint than an unknown quantity in just a one or three movie deal?

    of course it sucked, but it didn't take itself seriously...unlike the others which did...and shouldn't have.

    Jessica alba is just not a good actress her death scene was just so corny she rolled her eyes to the back of her head; someone should have told her that never happens

      Did you not listen to the video, or listen and just choose to ignore it? She said that she tried it quite differently (realistically), and the director, who sounds like a real jerk in this version of the story, told her to die "prettier." For all you or I know, the rolling back of her eyes was his idea. I'm not saying that her performance was worthy of an Oscar, or that "Silver Surfer" was a good movie, but let's lay that at the feet of the director, Tim Story, and not blame Jessica Alba.

      Got to say it was the idea that sucked. The Mtchell-Hedges skull and story behind its discovery was found to be fake years ago. every crystal skull was found to have been made in Europe, most probably Germany in the late 19th century. even the one they had on display at the British Museum was labelled as a late 19th century fraud.
      Come on Stealberg and Lucas, you mean you couldn't come up with a better script, idea? or are you just so damn rich and lazy you just dont care anymore.
      Must be the latter because it shows. Your movies once were good. Now they just suck I mean they really suck the sweat off a dead mans balls 💀🤮🤮
