As usual, I was wrong about the room color. It’s a lovely, warm, and inviting color and perfect for the era of the chateau. I love Philip’s sense of self-deprecating humor. His mother is precious, as are the granddaughters. All in all, a perfect family gathered together with family and friends. I can feel the love 💗 Merry Christmas Everyone 🥰

@@lindap8101 My point - that makes two of us. The wainscot is special enough to stand alone and in white like the door would supply the missing continuity. Again, I think they'll redecorate this room before they do any of the others.

I absolutely love the burnt coral color of the walls. It is a beautiful departure from all of the green.

I like the colour but now you have a stencil of the original hand painted wall pattern I’d return the frieze to the wall panels in a mix of white and gold.

I love your furniture style. It's very simple, yet elegant. It's not overly styled, or understyled. It fits into rooms and it allows for the beautiful walls of the chateau to speak for itself. Sometimes people add too many patterns or busy furniture, but here it works and it lets people focus on the smaller details instead of overwhelming them with distracting ones

I've honestly been wondering (for a few days now) if you made it, congratulations! Having had to rush an attic remodel with visiting family earlier this year, I feel your guys' pain. Enjoy the sighs of relief and congratulate yourselves on a job well done!
I just made zelten with my brother and sister. My mother who passed in 2011 taught us. She grew up in Innsbruck Austria. We also make knodel with brotchen and rouladen with beef onion and pickles. We make peffernuss cookies, hazelnut moons and vanilla crescent. All things my mother taught us.
Phillip’s mother is lovely. The girls are so cute. Ziggy is perfect.

Phillip said the table was 40. Euros including delivery. Anna said, can't go wrong, the table cost 20. Euros.???!!! Oh well in the scheme of things, it is irrelevant, I guess!

I love that you took the time to cover the mural with wallpaper to protect it for the future, even when you were pressed for time. I am not particularly fond of that salmon colour, I prefer more calming colours (dare I say, like green?) but the final look was altogether very nice and christmassy! Good work! I agree; I think the colour is not quite right, I think it should be deeper or a different colour. But as always skill, quality and execution is top notch.

I have never followed renovation projects on the internet yet this is so much more than restoration. The kindness and respect this couple shows one another is inspiring- especially during the course of such an enormous project.

Terracotta shade creates a balanced ensamble with both the overall interior muted tones and the exterior of château (brick details on the facade, pots). The color choice vibes airy and contemporary approach as it wouldn't be with fairly darker burgundy. Peaceful Holidays!

Fantastic choice for a monochrome scheme, so unexpected and vibrant, love it! That dark table baroque style table was a super find, and all the room needed was family and some lovely decorations from the garden to look warm and very festive!

I agree! I think the kids with the grandmother making the gingerbread houses was my favorite part. I loved seeing Philip's mom. She seemed so sweet and nurturing. Anna hugging her made me feel like they had such a sweet relationship. And I just couldn't help but remember decorating a gingerbread house with my nephew and how he got icing everywhere just like the girls! Such a great video!

I’m shocked at what you were able to accomplish at the level of quality and beauty you achieved. It’s breathtaking!!
I just watched videos of all of your rooms today and I realized why I am not really 100% fond of this room (even if it is very tasteful- don’t get me wrong, I love your style, your taste is incredible and admirable). The color is brave- it is daring but does suit the château. The golden mirror is beautiful and your decoration is as beautiful as ever. I realized it is the chimney. In all other rooms it is a beautiful marble or stone chimney what brings in a different texture and optic. Or even if the chimney is painted like in the blue room. It is not a white chimney- and in the blue room there is this beautiful gold detail at the chimney. I think this very white chimney doesn’t really suit to the orange color (also the white windows and ceiling are very „hard“ to the orange). And one side of the room should have big paintings or a mural to be not too monotonous. In your guest rooms where the room is completely painted in one color (even the paneling) the wallpaper makes it work and that’s why the rooms look so beautiful. Or in the evening salon that the paneling has a different color than the wall makes it work too. All in one color and no mural, ancient big picture, tapestry or different colored paneling is somehow plain and unbalanced. But I think this first renovation has a lot of potential but tbh I would work further on the room.

So glad y'all were able to complete the dining room renovation in time for Christmas! Looks lovely. I think there is too much orange in the room. Anna should make a stencil of the old wall paper pattern she traced and paint the design with a lighter paint color on the walls. This would make a nice contrast effect on the walls to break up the solid color. Anna is very talented with art and could easily do this. Merry Christmas!

Anna, what inspiration are you pulling from when choosing wall colors? Is it historical colors that guide you, colors in nature or colors that just work in your color story for the home. Its fun to see your use of color throughout the home. I love learning why people choose the colors they do for their homes, as it can be a big decision!
