That's a beautiful box. I wish I could find something like that. You did a good job on it. I hope you get settled in your new home. I look forward to a New Home Tour, that is if you plan to do something like that.
Not sure about a new home tour just yet but me and Ben did film a tour of our last house before we moved out which will probably go up in the next week or two
for the loose hinge screws : Red devil wood filler (or equivalent in your country), using a real screwdriver (it will be easier) remove one metal strap at a time, fill the oversize hole with the wood filler (it smells, be careful), let dry, pilot drill the filled hole with a smaller sized drill than the screw, clean then lightly oil the metal strap hole and screw head (no squeeks!), reinstall the strap. repeat with all straps. the screws should be tight but just enough to let the trays move. You can also try wood glue and wood toothpicks to rebuild the holes if you can't find the Red devil wood filler. Nice cabinet!
Brilliant sewing box, the colour came up well with the oil. Love the black top, is it a lace? Jonathan Creek, well he always seemed to be taken in the wrong way. But what about the ventriloquist dummy he had made with 12 extra feet, but got a 12 foot dummy.
Thanks I'm glad you think it came out well :) And honestly no idea what the top is. Some kind of synthetic stretch mesh thing I got for a dollar on a charity shop clearance rack years ago but it's so comfy! And haha classic Jonathan Creek!
Looks great. I have one in a lighter coloured wood. The wobbliness is a bit annoying- I haven't found a solution yet. I'm not sure that they are Victorian though? Mine is 1960s era for sure.
I love your sewing boxes! And the Victorian one looks amazing with its pink walls and rose bottoms ❤ it’s at least double the size of most of the sewing boxes I’ve seen in that style❣️
@Annabelle & Bens Antics I think your other one looks more 1950's ? But that's just a hunch ?! My mom had a cedar chest that looked similar, and pretty sure she would have got it in the 1950's ?!
@@m.maclellan7147 it wouldn't surprise me, it belonged to somone who died and the family didn't exactly know when she got it just that it had always been there lol
Thats a beautiful mini restoration. Looks great. And such a pretty way to be practical!
Thank you very much!

It looks so good. I love how you picked a fabric that matched the feel of the box. It's lovely to see the box have a new life. Good job!
Yes! Thank you! And I'm so glad you think the fabric matches it to. Weird as I'm really not a pink person but just couldn't resist with this one!

Mine got dated as it was donated with a bunch of other Victorian era stuff I believe, I haven't got it all with me but my modern one is 1960's ish
