It’s very hard to judge a place in 3 days. The great thing about PV is the more you explore the more you love it

I agree we went back a few times. I love more than my wife does. It’s not the Baja by any stretch of the imagination. BUT the Baja is not real Mexico in my opinion. I really like PVR. We have lived in Queretaro for 2 years. The center of Mexico is so much cheaper, cleaner, and just feels more at home. To be honest the Baja and PVR hasn’t touched my heart like the center of Mexico has.

Thanks for the video!!! I really enjoyed it. I agree I would like to live in a real Mexican neighborhood (not a big Expat area). I do like to be in the middle of activity and people. I currently live in New Orleans, so I like some crazy. I was hoping PV would work for my wife and I. We would be looking for something middle class like. Keep looking, I look forward to what you find. Not super rich or poor.

Love your video. Even though I'm Canadian I feel the same way about expats. I do not like crowds and enjoy quieter places to visit. I will be visiting PV but will be staying in Nuevo. I feel I can get my share of touristy people and then escape from them lol. I love the Mexican lifestyle and it is a great place to enjoy the warmth, no shovels there. Keep making videos as they are informative. Cheers

I am mexican and I don't understand what do you mean about " Mexican life style" could you describe it? Regards.

    • @bigskyblessing
      @bigskyblessing  9 месяцев назад

@@gustavoperez5480 absolutely, I will give a few examples. I can’t count how many times people have said Cancun and the resorts are just not real Mexico. When you go in a place and everything is in English everyone is speaking to you in English and the menu is catered to nothing but Typical Canadian or USA meals. The bill comes with dollars listed next to pesos. That’s one example. A gated community with a majority of expats is by far not your typical Mexican neighborhood. I know we are talking PVR but The Cabo airport is 100% geared towards people from the states or Canada. One bottle of water is over $10 USD (190 pesos) the same bottle at my airport in Queretaro is $1.50 USD. A real Mexican Airport or establishment is not going to be charging that for water. In a real Mexican neighborhood my wife and I can go eat a meal and have a drink for much less than they charge for the bottle of water.
I guess the best way to sum up what I mean. A real Mexican neighborhood has very few if any foreigners. It’s gear all towards locals and local traditions and food. It’s much more affordable and in my opinion much cleaner and safer most the time.
I hope that makes sense. We just don’t like being in an area that is geared towards expats. I know we are weird especially me i know I am hahaha.
      Thanks for watching!

@@bigskyblessing you are not weird, you just follow what you mind and heart tell you to follow, that's the issue. A happy man is a step forward to a happy world and you seem to have found such happiness in this country , what else you can ask? It seems you have found everything you were looking for here in Mexico. Hats off to you gentleman, and I wish you the best.

I'd love too explain. In my experience a "Mexican life style" is a lot more relaxed and family orientated with an easy going and relaxed life style. Don't get me wrong, things can happen in life, but overall very nice people I hope this helps. :)

For me ( if someone is interested to read my comment over there ) not choosing to live at Puerto Vallarta are because of two reasons.
First One: weather, i cannot stand hot weather, Puerto Vallarta ( and surroundings ) generally is brutally hot and brutally humid most part of the year.
Second one: job opportunities, economy at Puerto Vallarta is based on tourism and services mostly and many of those kind of jobs are temporary not chance to get social security and get into pension system. Puerto Vallarta doesn't offer jobs like industry or manufacturing products.
Living at Guadalajara ( the second largest city of México ) in my case offers more jobs opportunities and we have mild weather wich is very comfortable. Besides unlike these nice and gentle couple who owns this excellent RUclips channel, i love to live in a big city like Guadalajara, i am the kind of guy who enjoys noise, pollution, car jams, being hurry up going and comming from one place to another. 😂
    Regards to all of you.

Thank you so much for the offer and who knows we may be reaching out. Maybe someone watching this video sees this comment that is in need. That’s an excellent deal! Especially for that area. We are more than likely keeping our place in Queretaro and getting a place in the Baja. We love the Baja and the fact we can bring our car from the US down is a huge plus. However, PVR is an amazing area and I love the travel options from there. We will keep this in mind. I sincerely appreciate your comment and offer!

@@Johnny_Vivento yes just not wanting to import a vehicle down and the Baja is the only place that don’t require that. You can come and go as you please without any importation. My temporary residency is almost up so will be a permanent soon and plan to become a citizen. It would be a pain once that happens anywhere other than the Baja.

Thanks for watching that means a lot. Thank God you’re retired from LEO haha. It’s not the same world it used to be. We have not experienced a Sept in the Baja but from what we are told by the locals that Sept is still scorching hot, humid, and is prime hurricane season. If you’re retired I would strongly recommend waiting until November to come down to the Baja. I know we won’t be there in September.

@@bigskyblessing Thank you for the informative video.Yes retired over twenty years ago and times sure have changed.
Now why we are thinking september is a good time to visit.
We will be leasing from september to December and figured if we start the lease on the off season we would be more likely to get better lease term.
We can experience both seasons and have more time to look around with a six month lease.
If you guys are in town during that time it would be a pleasure to meet up, maybe for lunch.
