Check out the bolt length thread engagement into the diff. GM bolts called out don't give enough thread engagement. I put in longer grade 8 bolts to match original GM thread engagement.
We include longer flange bolts now with the diff mount.
Great video. I know this is older video but looking to buy this diff mount. One question I had is if I change diff mount will I need to change engine and trans mounts also due to diff mount being stronger?
Negative. We keep some rubber in both mounts just to keep things slightly compliant. Lots of people run just one or three other and have never reported an issue. In fact if you're gonna run just one, I actually recommend the diff mount since the installation is much easier, and the performance benefit is more easily felt on track.
Ty for response. I was gonna do all of them but motor and trans mounts still okay so just wanted to upgrade the diff mount first. Does amt sell a trans mount? I like your motor mounts so when I upgrade motor mounts will go with amt.

@@bman20233 The diff mount is the trans mount in this case. The diff is bolted to the trans so people use those two terms in regards to mounts interchangeably.
I just realized there was only one mount for diff and trans. Last car had both diff, trans and motor mounts. Thanks for clearing that up
Love the video man. What can I do about my c5 since it's a 97 model with the EBCM in the rear (in front of the diff)?
Hmm, not certain. Does it not have the same mount as all the other C5s? If it does then I don't see why this won't work. However if you order one and it doesn't work, I'll happily refund you.
My C5 has what looks like an ABS pump blocking this procedure. Does this car have an ABS delete? Where can I get an ABS delete kit??

Do you think a trans/diff cooler is necessary for a mostly street car that sees an HPDE 1-2 times per year? Or is money better spent elsewhere, like an EOC or your alignment shim kit.
I agree with Bob!! Honestly I don't think you need a trans cooler until you get a transmission over temp alarm! I started getting faster faster and eventually would get that alarm really quick, at which point I said "well, I guess it's time for a cooler!"
Seat time most important mod. If you do only 1-2 events per year, on street tires, you probably wont get the Transmission Over temp alarm., because you won't develop the skill to go faster. If you do, either slow down, or step up. It's all fun.

Hey Mark, what are your thoughts on the G-Speed Billet Mounts vs your Mount? Concerned a completely solid mount will cause excess stress on the differential case. Thoughts?
Excess stress on the differential is indeed my concern with a totally solid mount. That plus a lot of unnecessary noise and vibration.
