Your dry sense of humor is the best, Berina! 😂 "When I learned we weren't going to get off the boat at Bird Island, I smiled." I mean, yes, *of course* what with all the wild animals lurking behind every tree! As scared as you were of the water though, it's really impressive you went on that long boat ride at all! 👏👏👏 It's wonderful you were able to enjoy this day and the beauty of nature despite your fears. Thank you so much for sharing the experience with us. Such beautiful scenery! The clouds as you first set out, the evening lighting at the end... I really felt like I was on the boat ride with you, and I love seeing another part of the world this way. Also, it sounds like you overcame your fears about the boat very well by the end of this trip. That's fantastic, Berina! The world just expanded for you! ❤
I have a fear of many things Kim. Sometimes people deliver news without checking if there are kids around. I discovered that kids do not receive news the same way we do. I was only 7 when I heard my teachers discussing that a little boy had lost his life in a pool. I have been afraid of water since then. Trees too. I see many trees as places wild animals hide, apparently there are people who walk on bird island. We plan to get off the boat next time, I hope it will be safe. Thank you for the wonderful compliment, it was not an easy ride though. The experienced drivers helped us much and their patience was amazing.❤💙💙 That is right, I am learning that the world is very big and kinder.
@@OliveCityOasis The pleasure is all mine. You have been with me on this slow journey of YT for quite some time. I appreciate your support very much and I always wish you the best. Thank you again.💕💕
@@berinanaturethirst What a horrible experience for you as a child. I'm so glad for you that you're willing to face your fears and are learning to overcome them. It's wonderful you have such an encouraging partner, too. Assuming Bird Island *is* a safe place to hike (do some research to know the facts!), then yes, it would be amazing for you to walk there, *if* you feel ready for it. No rush necessary, right? Little by little, step by step, you're making real progress!
Fantastic video, Berina! ❤ Watched it while working outside on the ducks' pen, so I need to watch it again to give it my full attention. But as always, beautiful scenery, great adventure, and wonderful videography and editing! 👏👏👏
I am so glad you enjoyed watching this. I appreciate that. I am discovering many beautiful places. Thank you so much. Much love from Kenya. ❤️❤️❤️💙💙I wish you well.
Oh Professor Berina, you have done it again! I finally had some time to sit down in front ot the TV and view a wonderful adventure on Lake Victoria and what an adventure it was. Being from the Great Lakes I have been on the water many times and take it for granted. It was so interesting to see your reactions to this new excursion onto the big water. I am impressed that you were able to overcome your apprehnsions and enjoy a spectacular day. It was a treat to see the islands from the water. I cant believe that the trip took six hours. Wow! That is a long time to be on the water. I was wondreing is you felt "seasick" at any time but you answered that question in the video. Bird Island is an apt name. Oh my, look at all those birds. Too many to count. Any guess at what species they were? The waters looked gererally calm for such a large lake. That makes the voyage much more enjoyable, too. So happy that the boat "captains" were very knowledgeable and you felt comfortable with them in charge of your life. That makes a difference too. The fact that Ken brought the rain coats didn't hurt either. LOL I did enjoy the music and as always your voiceover was so informative and calming. As Olive City Permaculture said in her comment , your sense of humor is the best. And then, low and behold, I see that you have shouted out What's up With Richard. Thank you, but I am the one that should thank you and Ken for sharing your homeland with me and your RUclips community. 💯❤
Hello Richard! That is true, I have never thought water could be good adventure. You are right, we take this things for granted. I still feel like I would still be scared if I went on the ride again. There are many Islands on the Lake, it would take a long time to visit all of them, but I like walking, so I will visit as many as I can. Bird Island was the climax of the journey, I hope next time we will do it in detail.Yes I felt seasick, but Ken told me to look at the horizon.😂😂😂😂 I was more scared than seasick though. I was amazed to know that birds can own an Island. The bird's name is Cormorant. The waters were very kind to us, until we had to pay for our lateness. I did not know Lake Victoria's waves would be that high, and just passing under the water, it was mysterious. True, the young captains were very good. The rain almost spoilt our adventure, but we were very lucky. Thank you so much for watching, I know anyone who does sets some time aside for that. Thank you so so so much for your support. About the shout out, the pleasure is all mine. Thank you again.🙏🙏 I wish you the best.
