  • Just add loudspeakers, run the YPAO room correction and you’re set. After reading the 149 pages thick manual, the term Swiss Army receiver popped up. If this product can’t satisfy your stereo receiver feature needs, you have a serious problem!

I use the R-N803 with Klipsch RP-600M & 2 Monitor Audio Radius 10" had to have it compact and with a radio for my employer's work station at a large wash facility. You probably already know this, but for the benefit of everyone reading: don't blow 4k on a new amplifier before upgrading your speakers. You can get Kef R3 for half that and I bet the R-N803 can drive them exceptionally well.

    • @drazenbabich

      @@MartinRomero For the wash facility, I don’t believe the delta will be significant and upgrade worthy. But agree with you, R-N 803 combined with better speakers than the pedestrian Klipsch would yield much better end result than the receiver upgrade.

Priced as direct competitor to the Maranz 40n, but the Rotel doesn't have any app integration, so it looks like Roon subscription is the only way to play one's library files on the S14. Thanks for an excellent review. A long time Yamaha user, this is a product that might have appealed to me if it weren't for the MusicCast app which I do not get along with at all as it currently is. I replaced the Yamaha net receiver in the main listening space with a NAD device which is powered by BluOS and which offers a much better experience. I still have a Yamaha net receiver system in the office which is used almost daily, but I'll not be aspiring to high end Yamaha net streamer products again unfortunately unless they can do what BluOS does at the very least. I'll mention DIRAC as well, its a game changer but basically MusicCast is a deal breaker for me, its awful. A great shame.

    Dear Hans, thank you very much for the work you put into your reviews and videos. I am in the market for a new stereo amp - including streaming in an Apple contaminated realm, DAB(+) and HDMI ARC, this is why i was following the R-N2000A since the announcement, and it checks all my boxes. However, it also checks the high price box, although i understand, that the price is fair for what you get. But since i like a decent audio setup but would not call myself an audiophile i also looked into alternatives and found the Advance Paris A7 that seems to have a similar feature set, missing YAPO of course. I also understand that the R-N2000A is superior to the A7 but here's my question if i may be so bold, since you reviewed both. How much better is the R-N2000A or would the A7 be good enough for a listener like me from your perspective? As a side note, I currently own an old pair of Infinity Reference 81 II and will upgrade these after our 2 years old is not representing a danger to more expensive speakers, which will probably never cross the 10k€ (the pair) border upwards. Thank you for your time ans answer in advance

    Beste Hans, thanks for all your great videos i really like them a lot so keep it up. I have a question about two features to tweak a hifi system and you both reviewed in the past. It’s about the Isoacoustics Gaia’s and Dirac. I recently was in Tilburg at the hifishow, there Isoacoustics did there a/b demo with the Gaia’s under there speakers, and i must say it was not a little but a huge difference between with and without the Gaia. But as you also know, you can tweak and tweak in a hifi set up for as long as you reached the bottom of your wallet. So here is my question, can i achieve the same results as the Gaia’s deliver by doing a good Dirac room measurement?
    Thanks for your thoughts about this in advance, regards Danny.

    Dear Hans.
    I am looking for non-Naim all-in-one solution form my second system. My first is Naim Supernait 1 with streamer, Pro Ject turntable and Spendor 2/3 R2 speakers. I would like to simplify things with all-in-one solution and probably another pair of Spendors and possibility to retain the fullness of the Naim sound. No thin and bright sounding equipment. I came across two channel Yamaha R-N2000a network receiver which thick all my boxes.
    Do you have any insight on how this Yamaha would sound comapring to my Naim Supernait?
    Best regards.

    Well Hans, you hit this review out of the ball park again as usual. Excellent full coverage review. I've been waiting for this product for a few months. But I do have an issue. To me, the chassis looks identical to the A-S1200 & 2000 Yamaha Integrated Amps. This R-N2000, with all of it's features comes in at near the same weight as the A-S1200 & 2200. My question is, what am I missing with the new R-N2000 vs the A-S1200 & 2200 in the way of quality parts and the audio quality as a result? My Priority will be ultimate sound quality for my money. My shopping choice thus far are the A-S2200 with the Bluesound Node for the digital stuff. What would you recommend? Many thanks again Hans. You are the best! Cheers from Toronto Canada.

    Nice review, I wondering how this receiver(Yamaha rn 2000) will work with KEF LS50 meta when compared to Naim Uniti Atom?? I am worry Yamaha will be too sharp, bright or fatiguing for KEF LS50 meta and that can be hard to listening music for longer time of period. If anybody got some suggestions or expiriance please share. thx

      if it sounds too sharp, I think it will be rather the KEFs than the Yamaha.

    I would like this but it's incredibly expensive in my country (New Zealand) when compared to other amps which have similar prices in most other countries. Eg the Technics SU-G700 M2 is $4400 in Australia, $5000 in New Zealand. The Yamaha R-N2000a is $5000 in Australia, $8000 in New Zealand. I guess I'll be buying the Technics or the Marantz Model 40n. I could fly over there, buy one and bring it back and still save money.

      Sorry to hear. But carrying a 22 kg receiver on the plane isn't easy nor cheap either.

    • @dunnersfella
      @dunnersfella Год назад

      The Technics you mention is 70W @ 8ohms... but only measuring at 1kHz not the full 20Hz-20kHz. The Yamaha is 90W @ 8ohms 20Hz-20kHz, so the power ratings of the two amps simply do not match up. On a similar note, nor does the connectivity or streaming, The Yamaha offers Tidal Connect / Spotify Connect / DLNA / Airplay 2 / Bluetooth etc etc.. The Technics does not. The Technics also doesn't offer HDMI ARC.
      Sure there are VU meters, but they're not comparable to anyone other than the person trying to sell you the Technics.

    • @dunnersfella
      @dunnersfella Год назад

      Also, 12kg for the Technics and 22kg for the Yamaha. Weight is not everything for a stereo integrated amplifier, but it's an indicator...

    • @stevexc222
      @stevexc222 Год назад +1

      @@dunnersfella MusicCast does not support Tidal Connect, you have to use Tidal from within the MusicCast app and it sucks. I have Yamaha gear and would like to stick with it but as mentioned the price does not stack up in my country. I'll listen to these amps but I suspect the Yamaha may not be able to justify it's huge price difference in New Zealand, especially considering it does not have such a huge price difference elsewhere.

    • @sv1201
      @sv1201 Год назад

      @@stevexc222 I would get Yamaha 1200 or 2200 if they are more affordable in your country and a separate DAC/streamer that supports the feature you need.
