Most German fans hate the term „Die Mannschaft“ for the national team because it is a public relation term created by the former pr manager.

The German media told fans that they could choose their own nickname. The message obviously didn't get through abroad. And that's a good thing!

The thing is since 2006 under Jürgen Klinsmann Germany had a coach that was the assistant coach under the former coach. The assistant coach would carry on as the head coach after the head coach left.. Jogi löw was assistant coach of jürgen Klinsmann. Hansi flick was assistant coach of Jogi löw. but the old but gold players were no more. so i think the system was outdated. Nagelsmann is a break free from this. he brought in new players and implemented a new system so i am confident that this time it will work out.

Despite their disappointing performances in recent major tournaments, Germany are a team that cannot be slept upon for the EUROs as they have to be taken seriously as contenders. Since winning the World Cup, Germany have had little to no success in the last couple of major tournaments which is why they don’t have the same chances to win the EUROs such as France and England. The tournament will be played at their own home and that’s obviously a massive factor for them and given the fact that their squad consists of serial winners experienced players and rising stars, I could see them going all the way and Julian Nagelsmann is expected to lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation or he could go with a back 3 or 5.
One of the biggest strengths that they have in their team is the quality of their midfield. Toni Kroos has had an immediate impact since his return to the national team as both he and Ilkay Gundogan will have massive influence on the way that the team sets up with their ability to dictate the tempo of the game distribution and how good both of them are at passing the ball from deep. Having the right balance in your midfield gives you a foundation for how your team is going to play. Playing alongside them in as the 2 number 10s is Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz who are exciting players to watch and their ability on the ball creativity technique and dribbling makes them a team that can go on the front foot they’ll be able to create spaces and openings for their teammates. Leroy Sane can also provide an ex factor for them out wide. At the back, their defense is rock solid, Antonio Rudiger is going into this tournament off of the best season of his career where he was vital to Real Madrid’s success and defensive record, Jonathan Tah was one of the best CBs in the world last season as he was key to Leverkusen going undefeated in the Bundesliga and while it was a surprise that Mats Hummels was left out of the squad following his excellent performances during Borussia Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final, overall they have a strong enough defense to cause opposing attackers problems and that’s key to winning major trophies. Joshua Kimmich is a great option to have as a right back even if he’s been a midfielder in recent years. It’s true that they’re missing a world class striker through the middle, Kai Havertz is going into this tournament in his best form since his Bayer Leverkusen days and he’s expected to start through the middle in this tournament, Niklas Fullkrug has a great record for the national team and he can chip in with some goals off the bench and even though they don’t really have a reliable goalscorer through their ranks, if Germany are able to play great football work as a team get the balance right particularly in midfield and defend well in the latter stages of the tournament, it’s possible that they can win the EUROs.

It’s not necessarily our home court advantage which is nice to have. Germany won the 2014 World Cup on South American soil.
It’s more that the fact that we have home court advantage doesn’t allow our team to disappoint since we produce the players/quality needed to win any major tournament and the fact that the systematic germanic approach to such tournaments combined with the preparation time simply doesn’t allow for a disappointment.
Also gnabry and sane aren’t included in the squad and on the bench in the case of sane. We have Musiala and Wirtz who’re simply ridiculously good as wingers.

Its really common to translate "Fußball" into soccer for German speaker.
If we talk about football here, we mean amaerican football. Everything else is just confusing. Cause we can just use the German word "Fußball" talking about soccer/football in everyday conversations.
      I hope thats understandable...

@@mrsalomon3727 it might just be that I'm not the slightest bit interested in American football, but if I hear a German say Football while speaking English I think about Fußball. Football only means Americans football when talking in German.
