Zimmerman's performance is always beautiful no matter what you listen to. His piano sound is really art. The deep, serious sound goes so well with Schubert. It's such a beautiful performance.
This is a truly magisterial performance and, I think, the best one ever of Schubert’s Impromptu no. 4, op 90. As I watch and hear Zimerman, I feel that this is the reference for comparison to other performances and interpretations.
Just a shade too genteel and refined in interpretation for my taste, but I think he nonetheless comes closer to the spirit in which the piece should be played than anybody else I've seen on youtube thus far. A very enjoyable performance!

2:35-5:23 most wonderfull pianopart ever written
Oh yes, the trio part is pure magic. Schubert was such a wonderful composer, so underrated when he was alive
I always feel like romantic composers are at their best the more they sound like Beethoven.
Such an elegant performance.
Tender and heartfelt …
❤ me llena el alma de una manera muy sublime
Zimerman or Rubenstein's? Go figure. I love them all 🖤 Schubert, I for ever will adore you, master of melody.
Zimerman

No one could make the piano talk like Zimmerman IMO!
