    I love your podcast so much! And I am totally with you on the sock yarns - I absolutely love knitting with the superwash yarns because they feel so nice but I switch between knitting those and then knitting with Retrosaria Mondim because I like the outcome I get with the no nylon sock yarns! Nice that we have both options!

      Ooh I have yet to try the Mondim! I’ve heard so many mixed reviews. I’m very curious. ❤️

    I love when you share your experience about knitting unspun yarn, "it forces you to relax". You sure make me want to try that yarn. Not reading much these days, busy knitting. 😉 I am now knitting a "Baby Bear Balaclava" by Pernille Larsen for my grandson's first fall and winter.🥳

    I really found your podcast so enjoyable! I hope you have a wonderful vacation and find a yarn shop!
    I knit colorwork with both hands. I learned to knit English 60 years ago! I taught myself to knit continental so i think that helps!! I am currently knitting socks for Christmas gifts and a sweater for my granddaughter. I am currently on a Coorie In Poncho kick..on my 3rd with another planned for my daughter! We well, and enjoy London!!

    Another awesome episode!! I just ordered the Thursday Murder Club because I had to wait too long for my library copy! I am excited to read the new series too! I am currently knitting a Skyping beanie for my husband with cascade 220 and soft silk mohair. Great free pattern with dk and aran weight directions. I've made several and the fit is great. Have a nice week!❤

    Wonderful episode! Love all your knits. I just finished an Oslo hat while watching and it’s soaking! It is a gift knit. My newest cast on is MFTK Cardigan No.8. I’ve also kept a sock or 2 on the needles for back up. I like seeing the new yarns too. TY ❤

    You only need a longer cable to knit 2 socks magic loop with 1 set of tips. Put your progress for the first sock on waste yarn, knit to the same place on the 2nd sock, then pop the 1st sock on with the 2nd to join the party. Both should be positioned at beginning of round to continue knitting.

    I think I know what’s going on with the heel of your sock the heel turn. When you tention your yarn at the beginning your tention at the beginning of the row, and then when you get to the middle of the row, your tention has loosened up so retention in the middle of the row just like you do at the beginning of the row, get back normal tension and then continue the row also your pearls look tighter than your knits so practice tensioning that’s my tip for you and practice different styles of knitting different positions you’re holding your needles try it. You might surprise yourself and learn to knit differently. I sure have.❤

    YEEES Aude, we will have piles of knit socks together! This month i have t-6 days to knit a whole sock because of my holidays and a test knit, but your mention has given me the push i needed!! Also for your heel flap, do you swap to DPN’s or do you do the heel on magic loop? I use DPNs for my heel flap and turn and then go back to 9inch circulars!

    • @bobblesandberries
      @bobblesandberries  День назад +1

      Yay! You can do it!! I used a needle with a longer cable but with just the two needles tips so I guess it’s like DPNs? Maybe I should use actual DPNs. I might hold them slightly different and it might improve my tension… 🤔

  • @arwenwestrop5404
    @arwenwestrop5404 14 часов назад

    Hmmm... I have never seen that in my heel turns. However, while I was usually happy with my heel turns, they have greatly improved since I have started using double pointed needles for the heel flap and turn. For the rest I use magic loop, so the dpns only come out for the heel flap and turn, but I do find that these two parts of my socks look a lot better since I've started using dpns for those bits. I hope this helps!

    • @bobblesandberries
      @bobblesandberries  13 часов назад +1

      Thanks! It helps a lot. Other people have suggested using proper DPNs so I will give it go for sure. 🤞🏻❤️

    re/ your "messy" heel: I couldn't recognize properly what kind of heel(flap) you are making. It looks like a triangular shape. My heel flap is not triangular, it's straight. Mine is not messy. I got my sock knitting skills from Christine Perry's (= Winwickmum) sock tutorials. She's the queen of socks to me. - I hope you don't feel lectured ... Oh, and I knit my socks on DPNs, maybe this does play a role, too.

    • @bobblesandberries
      @bobblesandberries  23 часа назад

      Thanks! I will have a look at Christine Perry’s sock tutorials! Maybe I need to find a different way to knit my heels. My heel flap is square but the heel turn is triangular.

    HELP FOR YOUR HEEL: Your purl stitches are bigger than your knits on your heel. Look up Portuguese purl videos. It helped me with my gauge on purl stitches.
