I saw them at Chicago like 8 or 10 years ago , they performed this song … it was so magical , I felt my soul leaving my soul, I saw my past and hugged my nothing , I cried after the song was over because I couldn’t described how I felt … it was so amazing , it made me sad and happy
That’s how you know it’s a good band. I felt and actually seen the same thing during a concert in Dayton ohio. I was up on a balcony and could see the band and the crowd feeding back and forth into each other. I was on mushrooms but it was truly insane to see. Music will always be the first and only real magic humans ever created.
As she walks in the room Centred and tall Hesitating once more And as I take on myself And the bitterness I felt I realise that love lost Wild, white horses They will take me away And my tenderness, I feel Will send the dark underneath Will I follow? Through the glory of life I will scatter on the floor Disappointed and sore And in my thoughts I have bled For the riddles I've been fed Another line is over Wild, white horses They will take me away And my tenderness, I feel Will send the dark underneath Will I follow? Wild, white horses They will take me away And my tenderness, I feel Will send the dark underneath Will I follow?
I had forgotten how beautiful this song is. I was driving home from work last night just as the sun was setting. Then this song was played on the radio. The softness and sadness in her voice played in perfect contrast with the sunset glow becoming less and less as it disappeared into the night sky. I felt everything lift and melt away.
with my special thanks to Spotify and you tube i am finding all my loving music back and discover more wonderful masterpieces like this one from Portishead wich i bought dummy from 1994 and portishead from 1998 on cd! ♥️🙏
When I first heard of this song, I could feel it vibrating in my chest. beyond my body and through the soul. There’s something so pure and raw about it. It’s pure emotion

That acoustic guitar is a poor resemblance of the studio song. 2:15 is such a beautiful mixture of old sounds on new gears. I love that particular Atari-like arpeggio, which in this case is not a sequence, but a real key pressed consequence.
When you listen to the record, it sounds almost like she sings a very long sustained note on "will I follooooooooooooooow". But live, she isn't singing during that. So is there a synth note perfectly matching the pitch of the part she sings and seamlessly taking over, or is it simply a sustain effect applied to her voice at the right time?
@@isntitrich000 I saw a live performance of the song after this comment, and at least in that performance, and to my surprise, there was a saxophone playing the note she sings and seamlessly continuing it.

I am going to cry because I never got to see them live and I am a decades long fan… And I know exactly how you feel.
U sooo lucky ....with ''the tenderness i feel''...❤🙏
One of the best songs ever.
Genuinely, I have grown to believe this is one of the best songs ever created.
My favorite
As she walks in the room
Centred and tall
Hesitating once more
And as I take on myself
And the bitterness I felt
I realise that love lost
Wild, white horses
They will take me away
And my tenderness, I feel
Will send the dark underneath
Will I follow?
Through the glory of life
I will scatter on the floor
Disappointed and sore
And in my thoughts I have bled
For the riddles I've been fed
Another line is over
Wild, white horses
They will take me away
And my tenderness, I feel
Will send the dark underneath
Will I follow?
Wild, white horses
They will take me away
And my tenderness, I feel
Will send the dark underneath
Will I follow?
Et si en français la traduis-tu, alors là, merci beaucoup mon ami.
This song is so beautiful. Somehow is helping me feel the loss of my dog who passed 2days ago.. Cherish every second with your pets💔
meus sentimentos pelo seu pet. they are pure love.
I’d say humans are more sentimental then animals but you know some people are weirdos.
😢

The instrumental parts of The Rip (02:07, 03:20) is absolutely magnificent.

I just realized. It’s already 2019, and
Who cares what year you're listening to this?
@@whsonic Well, Portishead has not released anything for 11 years.
@@fredman727 Except an Abba-cover version ("S.O.S.") for the movie "High Rise" in 2015.

...and they never even finished their thought.
Как вы поёте эту песню? Каждую строку на одном выдохе? Если нет, попробуйте спеть так, вы получите удовольствие от этого.
That beat is very CAN.

So is there a synth note perfectly matching the pitch of the part she sings and seamlessly taking over, or is it simply a sustain effect applied to her voice at the right time?
I suspect there’s an applied effect since the note tapers more gently than the other melody that the synth is playing
