I like adding a tiny amount of xanthan gum to mine for a creamier mouthfeel. It also help to stop the separation in creamier frozen drinks like piña coladas
I'm really surprised that this channel doesn't have a bigger following. She is extremely attractive, love the accent, the editing and videography is great, and she has good info on alcohol.
Another place you'll find not-very-boozy frozen drinks is Las Vegas. There are stands all along the Strip that sell a variety of frozen concoctions in yard-long containers, but the once or twice I've bought one there seemed to be pretty much nothing to it. If you expect them to be full-blown adult drinks you need to pay for an extra shot or two, I think. If it's any comfort, here along the Central Coast of California it's something like 15C out this morning, so not toasty. Hopefully it will warm up later once we get some sun.
Thank you for this! I have a ninja creami that I've used to make frozen margaritas and I'm venturing into making other frozen cocktails with it. This helps a lot!
I recently got a vitamix and im a believer! worth its weight in gold once it comes time to make perfect pina coladas. I want to try my hand at a orange juice frozen negroni!
I remembered seeing this video when it came out, and I looked it up recently to review it after I got a slushy machine and decided to make frozen Hemingway daiquiris. I tweaked the recipe and prepared 2 liters of undiluted ingredients, enough in advance to get everything completely chilled ahead of time before adding it to the ice in the machine. This worked.
Amazing tips. I do a lot of shaken cocktails, and when I took a crack at a frozen Piña Colada on a beach holiday, I learnt very quickly how hard they are to balance in texture and sweetness...
It was around 13C and raining here in the Seattle area yesterday, so I guess we're basically like Scotland. Looking forward to trying my hand at frozen drinks in another month or so when it warms up, though :)
Google says it's 9C in Melbourne today so thanks for the nice outfit, but bundle up before going out. Gee and it say's it's tomorrow already there now.
Nothing like frozen drinks, thanks Ms Cara, yeah, it's summer here in Tennessee, USA, they are great to sip on, be mindful of brainfreeze, black, nice outfit, you look great anyway!!!
Love frozen cocktails during summer but I can't taste or feel any alcohol. Like I'm wasting alcohol. Also vitamix is definitely the blender you want for ice or any kind of blending. I love mine.
Yea you get usto frozen drinks growing up in fl. Until I started watching bar and cooking shows I thought all daiquiri were slush/ milkshake overly sweet drinks. There beach spicals.
The interesting thing about frozen cocktails is, afaik, actually making them part of the regular bar experience is super fussy and annoying. Like, blenders are a pain to clean, and making enough for just one serving is really, really bad bang-for-buck in terms of time spent making them. I feel like they're the sort of thing that requires very specific focus, and probably dedicated equipment, so even here in Arizona where it is -ridiculously- hot (I think we're hitting 120F this week) a lot of bars don't offer frozen drinks.
It does seem a shame that what is normally a spur of the moment kind of drink really needs some advanced prep. But using frozen fruit I think is a great option if you just want something quick.
Completely unrelated but, can you do a French 75 at some point? I just realized you haven’t done one of my favorite gin cocktails. And please do the gin version as it appears in The Savoy Cocktail book. I saw someone do the cognac version and I died a little inside.
Generally, I avoid using ice in my frozen cocktails in favor of frozen fruit. Pina coladas are only made with frozen pineapples in my house. Frozen Daiquiris and margaritas are usually only made with some other frozen fruits like strawberry, mango, watermelon or pineapple to mitigate along with lime juice. Frozen bananas make a great daiquiri too, and they give an extra creaminess.
I don't know why people poo poo frozen drinks. They're magnificent. I live in Nth Qld and it can be really hard to enjoy a spirit fwd cocktail, and drinks like a margarita are extremely dangerous on a hot evening. The solution is often a slushie. Margarita, negroni, daquiri, they're all good!

Love how you release this vid as we go into the coldest winteriest week this year. 😂
😂

Aw shucks, thank you!
Great tips and perfect timing! Cheers Cara!
This is amazing!!! Thank you so much for the tips!!!!

Yay!
now I know
thanks so much, incredible content!
Looking forward for this, the tips are useful tho, I'll try myself first and come back for corrections.
Remember, no mistakes.
Only happy accidents.

Practice makes perfect!
Yeah, I was surprised it took me like 5 tries to get a decent piña colada.
I've been bit by the "crushed ice becomes water instantly when I mix" failure so the notes here are appreciated.
My go to frozen blender drink is the vitamix whole fruit margarita
Looking forward for more, thanks for the tips.😁

I didn't go to work, I'm just watching this video:-)
Haha I love the dedication, thank you!

i wish the bar where she worked was closer.
I know, from me, she is a world away
You lost the merch link in the info section.
Thank you for letting us know, it's there now, but you can also find it here - behind-the-bar.creator-spring.com
I love her.
Could you give instruction on the best "Mud Slide" in a future vlog? shaved ice? Special machine needed? Thanks!

I know, I guess I’d never not make one spur of the moment if I felt like it but would just know it might not be the best haha!
Yeah, it's a great option
Frozen drinks don't really appeal to me but I'll watch anyway, and that's a lovely outfit lol.
🤣Thank you!
Normalise top quality frozen drinks! So many of us have been spoiled by 'nightclub' strawberry daiquiris
Completely unrelated but, can you do a French 75 at some point? I just realized you haven’t done one of my favorite gin cocktails. And please do the gin version as it appears in The Savoy Cocktail book. I saw someone do the cognac version and I died a little inside.
you just talk ! you are so sweet !
Thank you so much!
Yes she is!!!

Pun not intended, but this is cool.
