Discovered this through Proving Ground on PS2 when I was around 11, and still to this day it gives me a deep and almost saddening nostalgia that no other song has. Makes me wish I still had friends from this era. I'd love having someone to personally share this song with.
I played Proving Ground a lot. I do NOT remember this song at all. Was it exclusive to the DS or something? I played the PS3 version and this doesn't ring any bells. Good song though. Also, this band used to be called "Operatic" who also had a song, "Interested in Madness", included in the soundtrack for THUG2. Apparently, the bassist worked as a developer for Neversoft. So I guess when they disbanded as Operatic, they later chose to reform as Sayvinyl. Only to break up again. Although lately, it appears they've been redistributing some of their music to Spotify. They got the Operatic album "Killing Us Is Easy" back on there and some Sayvinyl stuff, including this track
If not for your comment, I would've never known they finally, after all these years, added their music to Spotify. I really appreciate it man. And I also appreciate the background info, makes a little more sense why their music was so difficult to find for over a decade. But it surprises me you hadn't heard it on Proving Ground. I played on PS2, so maybe it didn't make it to the rerelease for PS3 for licensing reasons? Either way thanks again for your comment. I'm going through their discography as I'm writing this lol
@@NewYorksMostWanted no problem! i sometimes get crazy in depth with this stuff as it interests me enough to seek some answers lmao but yeah, turns out i was mistaken. It IS in the PS3 version as well. I do remember the artist name & song title scrolling across the screen in the pause menu. I guess I just never remembered what the song was like. Which is crazy because it's a really good song so you'd think it would have stuck with me
@@lavenderllamamusic Hey your deep interest clearly helped me out so I'm thankful for it lol And oh that's awesome, would've sucked to think this track didn't make it to the PS3 version. It would've sucked to lose any track honestly, this is just one out of many that I loved from the game's soundtrack.
You're right actually. On the DS, it IS different. They shortened the song. They start the song from about 2:10 in the vid, and they edit 3:31-4:12 out of the song.
They broke up. And ever since then, it's like their music vanished. It's crazy, I spoke to the band members via email way back when I posted these songs, and they were so chill about me posting their music because the only other place you could hear them was in skateboarding movies and stuff. Lol
@@justkallmekai i'm coming here to mention that this band used to be "Operatic". The band who had their song "Interested in Madness" on THUG2. Apparently, the bassist of the band used to be a developer for Neversoft Anyway, they also redistributed "Interested in Madness" to Spotify as well, also a different mix from the one in the game. Whether it's Operatic or Sayvinyl material
Why did the Tony Hawk game remove most of this beautiful song? Like I love this version of the song. But for Proving Ground they only included part of the song for some odd reason.
@@jossse41 my Spanish is a bit rusty. But I think you are saying that the part of the song they removed for Proving Ground was too slow for a game of skateboarding
Yeah their lyricism is almost my favorite thing about them. It was definitely my favorite song on Proving Grounds too. Oh, and they do- for some weird reason- remind me a of Panic! at the Disco. :D
I really like the lyrics, reminds me a little bit of panic! at the disco, if not better. Hah I always turn this song on when I play proving grounds, it's definitely my favorite, too bad they left out much of the song, it's a good song throughout.
I remember those old and gold times playing tony hawks proving ground while reproducing this song :( Now the coronavirus has taken the world damn! Hopefully we will make it.
Can somebody please tell me where I can buy this CD? I dont want to download it, I want to buy the actual CD? Where Can I get it? I cant seem to find it..
Tony Hawk games always have amazing music, but this song still stands out as being all kinds of awesome.
i think this and "See the world" by "The Kooks" are some of this greatest tracks ever to be featured in any tony hawk game ever.
You speak the truth.
Yes yes yes

For people who played Proving Ground, and don't recognize it, go to 2:08. That's the part.
nebbii pretty slow start. Really almosy unrecognizable. thx bro
@Narkata Still playing games and listening to music haha
@Narkata Thanks for reminding me of the comment haha, really takes me back! Playing THPG on my DS every morning :'D

Hi
THIS ISNT GETTING ENOUGH LOVE
somehow despite only hearing 1/3 of the song as it was played in THPG, i managed to remember most of the lyrics to this one. really really good

For real tho, what happened to this band?

Anyways, thanks for the explanation!
Good news! This song is now on spotify! Seems like it's a different mix which kinda sucks but I'll take it!
