The Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Trailer had a lot of similarities to famous James Bond 007 action scenes, so I thought I'd make a quick side-by-side comparison showing the Mission Impossible trailer with the James Bond movie scenes they best resemble.
This is just a bit of fun - I love Mission Impossible and I love Bond.
Yell at me on Twitter if you want to: PentexP - Кино
Let's face it, the yellow car was like 90% of what prompted this. Can't wait for Dead Reckoning though!
In the meantime you can watch more of my Bond stuff here: ruclips.net/p/PLGKyAwPbirg9xCsjSvrc_e3N_f887xJnG
Except that the Fiat 500 is a clear reference to Lupin the Third, not the FYEO 2CV.
I always thought "For Your Eyes Only" seemed like a Mission: Impossible movie with James Bond and the yellow car just cements that belief.
Well, Dead Reckoning is a chapter title in Fleming's book Moonraker...
SO TOM CRUISE IS DOING A MULTI BOND MOVIE IN A SOLO MOVIE.
GOT CHILLS & GOOSEBUMPS.
#TOMCRUISEFOREVER
I've always wanted to see a 007 and Mission Impossible cross-over. MI6 vs IMF!!
Man, that is the weirdest thing I've watched in a while. It's uncanny. The yellow Beatle must be inspired from FYEO
What beetle? The one in 007 is a citroën 2cv, and the one in mission impossible is a fiat 500
@@ricardolinterna4041Yes, but it was inspired by FYEO... Mission Impossible was inspired by James Bond.. Both franchises are really good. Jason Bourne and John Wick too.
Very clever, great edit. I can see your point, however nothing is original nowadays. Still looking forward to MI:7 though 👏🏻
I love this! I did a side-by-side comparison which I posted to Twitter and used so many of the same 007 shots you chose to parallel the M:I trailer. But I must give you major props for being even more detailed, thorough, and doing it in video format. Bravo!
Brilliant. I was planning on a version just using Roger's films - I think it's doable (the feathered bike off the cliff and TSWLM ski jump combo for the end shot, etc)
I never comment on videos- but- wow.
Very impressive editing.
Great similarities, entirely two different messages
This movie had to be highly inspired by bond
This was really cool to watch! Thank you for the wonderful edit :)
This video is *AWESOME!* 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Thank you. 🙏🏻
Thank YOU for watching
Hey can I copy your homework?
- Sure, just change it up a bit.
The homework:
I didn’t mind the last few Bond films, but Mission Impossible has certainly been doing Bond better than Bond since Skyfall
Good point. I'll take the last few MI's over the last few Bonds. TBH though I'd take all 6 MI's over the last 6 Bonds.
Skyfall isn't all that good either- I'd go back to Casino Royale.
Very true. Its a shame, and its a disgrace when u think about it. We’ve gotten 3 new MI movies since 2011 (include Ghost Protocol) and also 3 Bond movies from 2011 (Quantum) and man Bond has been so fucking lacklustre, 5 fucking years between every film and we get the most sub-par screenplays imaginable. Spectre is easily one of my least favourite Bond movies ever (even the worst of the old films have more charm), and No Time To Die was such a muddled chaotic mess. Its weird, the longer the time spent on them the worst they get, we used to have Bond films release a year or two between and still be classics.
@@Ass_Burgers_Syndromereally you’d take Mission Impossible 2 over Casino Royale?
@@GuineaPigEveryday Bro. I think you forgot how bad Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, Moonraker,A View To A Kill, Never Say Never Again, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Dr No Die Another Day, and Octopussy are lol.
The best Bond films are GoldenEye, Skyfall and Casino Royale.
I also like On Her Majesty's Secret Service, From Russia With Love, Licence To Kill, The Living Daylights, Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldfinger, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, No Time To Die, Spectre and Quantum of Solace.
Yes, my favorites Bond are Brosnan and Craig. I would say the best is Craig, but my favorite is Brosnan.

Nice work!
Let's just call it what it is - after WIll Smith shit the bed at the Oscars, Tom Cruise is truly the last remaining Movie Star. With a capital M and a capital S.
About to watch Top gun for the 372nd time to get ready for Maverick. Obviously he's getting old, but he's refusing to take it sitting down and I think there's a lesson for all of us (old farts) there.
maverick was amazing. he might be older but his body could take the G's which was impressive
What about Keanu Reeves and Samuel L Jackson?
@@osmanyousif7849 They're both great in their own ways, but neither one of them sells tickets on their own. Sam has been in movies with $27 BILLION in sales, but most people don't go there specifically to see him - you're happy that he's in it, and he nearly always makes movies better just by being there, but he's not the draw.
@@theritchie2173 , what about Keanu? It's not too late for him.
tom cruise ruined mission at the beginning. Now its way better and actually has a good team mentality which goes back to the tv show. The first filmed screwed up with making Phelps the bad guy. Other than that... it has gotten better after MI 3 I would say.
So you went through all the James Bond movies looking for similar shots? Well, considering there are about 25 Bond movies I'm not surprised you find similar ones.
We found Tom's youtube account
Great Video, love it!
This deserves more views
This gave me goosebumps
Of how they look so similar
The Yellow Car that is obviously meant to look odd and stand out as a not spectacular chase vehicle, i thought of FYEO immediately but then realised that in the modern-day its like more a Lupin reference, or would be seen as such by most modern day younger movie goers
Good effort thank you
Nobody does it better. 🍸
Increíble. Demuestra lo importante que es la saga de Tom Cruise. Gran análisis.
Back then I thought '007' and 'Mission Impossible' were under the same brand.
Fucking James bond can't beat mission impossible dead reckoning part one ❤💯
Alright dude chill out lol
Danm i've just realized that cruise and brosnan are look alike
I’m not alone anymore when people scent the another spy aesthetic while they are watching MI:7 trailer. I miss him now🥺
Who notice the bathroom fight on fallout movie had the Asian guy from 007 skyfall (Macau scene fight)
Jean houten all so on the ice fight with Craig
What ever the similarities between Mission Impossible dead reckoning and James bond films , i just hope Rebecca's Ilsa character not be killed off
Totally agree, if Rebecca fergusson character Ilsa faust were to die in movie 7 I wouldn't watch movie 8!!!
@@ericpeeters3400 me too
Didn't I see father and daughter shooting together in minute 0:43???😁
Hey there's a lot of correlation there.
Bruh, how did this get to production? 😂
That signs might be Tom cruise will be next James Bond role in furture 🤣🤣🤣😅😅
🙂
It seems like MI7 is taking inspiration from the Bond movies
Fiat 500 use by lupin 3rd and Tom cruise
I was very disapointed with MI7, even the plot is the same as in For Your Eyes Only .
I mean, lets face it, MI is very much the American 007. We're fine with this.
Misson Impossible is easily better and the new movie literally looks 10 times better than all of those Bond movies combined,as much as I love James Bond the characters just outdated and always has multiple actor's with refreshments, but Tom Cruise has been the one and only Ethan Hunt since 1996 and it gets better in every single movie,it's more realistic cos Ethan knows he can't do everything by himself unlike Bond Misson Impossibles is easily the best ever spy franchise of all time no questions asked and it's my childhood too cos I grew up with it,MI was my introduction to spy films cannot wait for Dead Reckoning
My friend. you can't even spell because.... or cause..you type cos...no one takes you seriously with your shitty flawed opinion. Bond did it first... and is 10 times better than mission. Mission has copied Bond way more than this. LOL.
Great you’re so excited but dissing a pop-culture icon franchise of 26 films for just 6 (which includes the dogshit MI:2) is ridiculous. Chill tf out. Yeah its old, so what, just becuz Mission Impossible was made more recent doesn’t make it inherently better in every single conceivable way. I love both, why do we have to compare and compete everything nowadays
Oh people turning their heads, running, cars and guns, what a rip-off!!!
Simpsons did it.
They really just copied a James Bond trainer
That wasn't a James Bond trailer. Its an edit of multiple clips from different movies in the franchise.
BOND DID IT FIRST! IDGAF what you all say.
The story of a programmable disease from Dead Reckoning is literally NO TIME TO DIE. So... hmm.
