One more reveal we got due to an accidental Amazon leak- The 3rd, brand new versatile Heritage in Player Core 2 is Dragonkin, and the 8th ancestry is Tripkee, the new name for Grippli.

I did see that as I was posting this video. Just to be clear, it appears that will be in player core 2, not any of the war of the immortals books. Still, I know one friend that will now never play anything other than dragon-people.

7:42 class archetypes are a type of archetype that must be declared at level 1, and you must take the dedication at level 2. They alter the core features of a class. The only book thats really features these is Secrets of Magic.
Edit: there was one class archetype call the spellshot, which was just a gunslinger subclass you needed to class archetype into, but the others function to alter your core class more directly.

Oh that’s right! I briefly tried that with the Runelord archetype before Player core changed wizards so much I couldn’t do it. Completely forgot it was called a class archetype. They really should have come up with a name that didn’t make it sound like the other things. ‘Specialist archetype’ maybe.

Perhaps updating the elementalist archetype to include metal and wood in Rage of the Elements rekindled interest at Paizo?

Thanks for this, I didn't feel like sitting through all of the hours long presentation to get me up to speed, a well earned thumbs up.

I think the original is only 30-45 minutes? On twitch there was a significant amount of dead air due to technical problems, but they cut that out of the RUclips video. Still, glad I could help.

Rivethun Emissary is probably for Druid or Animist. Shaman was similar to the new Animist from what I heard, but I could also see her being rewritten to be a little more Druid-like.
Glad to see Shardra come back. In another game, Frostgrave, I have her as the leader of my Dwarves.

An important missing bit of information is the contents of the War of Immortals rulebook other than the two new classes:
Mythic rules for pf2e and some more class archetypes including the return of fan favourite Bloodrager as a barbarian class archetype.

Sadly, if I covered everything in the stream, it would have been just as long as the stream, and then it wouldn't be much of a recap, lol. Curse of doing a recap, you have to decide what to cut, and I wanted to give some of my thoughts on some things, and that eats up time too.

There were class archetypes before the remaster. The Runelord Dedication was a class archetype for the wizard.

Already bought your book, browsed it pretty well, looks great and i appreciate having more npc stat blocks, especially remaster ones.

    Note on Class Archetypes:
Theyre different from regular subclasses as they change more and work like an Archetype as they have an Archetype feat (that you are locked in to taking at level 2) and sometimes various follow up feats.
Its a design space they havent done too much with so far but the major ones are things like Flexible Spellcaster and Wellspring Mage that change how prepared/spontaneous casters magic works, or Elementalist which changes what spell list you use.
The only class specific one so far i think is Spellshot, so we don't have too much to go off on hownmuch they're likely to change. I did see a random comment from a Paizo dev about Battle Herald perhaps not having divine font though!

    I always liked Gorum.
Anathema mean YOU can't do the thing, you aren't required to stop a party member from doing the thing. I've played at the table with 4 different followers of Gorum, and they've always been fun. Two were Warpriests, and honestly it makes sense that you'd never see a Cloistered cleric follower of Gorum. That's just not what he's all about. That'd be on par with having a Druid follower of Abadar.
I'm sad he's the one they're getting rid of. I was hoping for Asmodeus, largely because his death would've been the BIGGEST upset for the setting as a whole. Cheliax would get screwed AGAIN, which warms my anti-Chelish heart, and there'd be tons of repercussions and interesting plots to follow if he'd died.
Gorum dying is just... meh. He is specifically stated to have never established/maintained ties with any of the other gods. His death just doesn't DO much to the setting. They hyped up this big event and then revealed that they went with the most safe, least interesting option.

To each their own. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Personally, I don’t think Gorum would be okay with one of his clerics being at, and standing by, at a peace conference.

  • @harjutapa

Since Shardra was the Shaman in 1E, it would make sense for her to be representing a class archetype for Animist.

This feels like a silly distinction but I find it interesting:
Arazni didn't ascend to Godhood *as* a mortal. Rather, she was a mortal, died, became a Celestial of some kind (Angel I think?) through regular means, and later on met Aroden and became his herald (they had known each other in life I belief) and as a herald was basically a demigod.
I might be a bit off on some of that, but the difference is that a Celestial becoming a God is technically a fairly normal pathway I believe? Still very impressive, just more of a promotion than the feat of mortals ascending to Godhood.
Also worth noting I think they play it a little fast and loose in lore as Celestials usually don't retain their memories of life as a mortal

Like I said, an interesting and complicated history. I didn’t want to bog down the video with too much stuff that wasn’t in the livestream, which is why I said to go check out her article on the pathfinder wiki. My point still stands, started off as a mortal, eventually attained godhood, starstone wasn’t involved.

Great job. The pathfinder infinite link to your book is broken. Looks like it is running the url partially before linking again.

Is your omnibus module compatible with foundry?
Also, I’m a little disappointed they killed Gorum. He’s one of the more forgettable gods. It would’ve been insane if Asmodeus or Shelyn kicked the bucket, but they pick someone whose Chaotic Neutral and not liked by most players.
The whole edicts and anthaema issue could’ve been reworded in a later release. If you look at some of the shit the 1e gods made your players do (one’s ritual involved you ejaculating without touching yourself), you’d know that Paizo is no stranger to revision

    • @PsiPrimeProductions1
      @PsiPrimeProductions1  3 месяца назад +2

So those rituals (I think they were called devotions if I understand what you're talking about) were only required if you did a specific thing to further your devotion to your god. And yeah, some of them were pretty gnarly, like Ragathiel requiring you to kill one evil creature a day! But to just be a normal cleric of a god you didn't need that.
No foundry support for the Omnibus yet. The sales haven't been high enough for my publisher to justify putting his foundry guy on it. I'll bring it up to him when I can.

idk about that. Of the dozen or so parties I've played or ran for in 2E, 4 of them have had a follower of Gorum in them. Only Sarenrae, Cayden Calean, and Desna have had more followers among the players I've shared a table with.
