Excellent new intro and outro. Thanks for the detailed instructions. The bird was beautiful, I bet he is trying to pick up some tips for how to build his nest. ☺
Few tips Unless your left handed you started on the wrong side Set out slates to correct spacings Copper rivets are grampians Put laths on with string line as using a spacing timber is a recipe for disaster, not advised Purchase a smaller slating hammer, far easier, also slate cutters and gulliotine Don't over nail grampians as this curls the slate Best of luck with future projects!!
Appearance for one, can't beat a nice slate roof over concrete tiles, plus over the years concrete tiles start getting covered in moss whereas slate's won't
Bottom detail there called eaves and dummies the eave is to hold the rivet for the first course u didn’t need the rivet in the dummy course but it’s not doing no harm I’ve seen a lot worse ur doing everything on the roof ok and I’ve done it 15 years and got nvq level 2 in slate and tiling
I tell you what springs to mind. Jack of all trades definitely master of none. Just do one trade and be the best you can be . Why give people advice when clearly you dont know yourself its plain to see.
It’s much more complex than I though. The results are beautiful. I can’t wait to see how you finish the ridge line.
