- Inflight audio and video of me flying with the Civil Air Patrol. I am flying the ILS/DME 14 into Rouge Valley International Medford Airport. We are relocating a CAP C-182 and crew to Medford for the 2013 Oregon Wing Mountain Flying Clinic. The flight was flown under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) from Aurora State Airport (KUAO) to Rouge Valley International Airport- Medford Oregon.
Always take advantage of opportunities to train. This video captures me flying the ILS/DME 14 Approach on foggles. I haven't done many approaches (simulated or actual) to a full stop landing. I learned a lot from this practice approach. The ILS is 18.3 NM long and I spent most of the time between SAMIE (IAF) and OSSAJ above the glide slope and fast. At OSSAJ, I am on the glideslope and slow to 90 KIAS and added 10 degree of flaps, complete the before landing checklist. This made for a stabilized approach all the way to touchdown. I am not a CFII or a very experienced IFR pilot so any constructive criticism is welcome. I am always looking for tips to improve.

Chris, nice job..
Although "Fly the Airplane" seems like a stupid callout, you'd be surprised how many pilots get wrapped up in other business ... not necessarily bad stuff ... but not flying the aircraft. Think about what that statement is really saying. For example, after a brief interruption of an approach briefing or landing checklist, make certain you have re-established your situational awareness, scanned the instruments, transfer control as required and get your brain ahead of the aircraft by at least a minute or so. Think about what's coming up next to do.
Hey what kind of setup did you have? What camera and mount
