    • @industrialfringe953
      @industrialfringe953  5 месяцев назад

      Good catch! I always tell people to do what I say and not what I do! I don’t add any paper on top of the sub paper, and I’ve never had an issue. But I’d hate for someone to go off a recommendation from me and then have issues. I think it probably has a little to do with the sub paper that’s being used. And to be better safe than sorry, it probably is best to use some sort of blowout paper. Thanks for watching!

    This is so informative , i just got the eenour tumbler press and am trying to get into sublimation (newbie) and am hitting a few roadblocks.. i got my frosted and clear glass 16oz tumblers from amazon and the black designs on the both are coming out as a brown ( i heard that means its burnt) ..im doing both tumblers at 375 F for 100 secs (the manufacture said to use between 370-380 deg for between 90 to 160secs) and using the A sub paper and heat tape. I also see that the on the clear glass can shows the tape marks on it and its grainy on the cup and design (from the paper i think?). Ive tried different temps at this point on various wasted tumblers so any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

    • @industrialfringe953
      @industrialfringe953  Год назад +1

      Thanks so much! For the black, in Photoshop, I create a solid black layer, then remove the outer edge by selecting my sizing template, then click on the template with the magic wand tool, then reselect the black layer and click clear. When I hide the template, I have a perfectly sized image. (I covered the process in a video about Photoshop Elements, but maybe I should make a video about just that!) My size is 9-1/4” x 8-1/8”, but tumblers can vary in height and circumference, so it’s a good idea to check the tumblers to make sure they’re always the right size! (I’ve had tumblers be different heights within the same case! It’s rare, but it happens.) Thanks for watching!

    • @industrialfringe953
      @industrialfringe953  11 месяцев назад

      I’ve found that my time and temp is the same for different tumbler manufacturers as well as with both presses I’ve used, and with all colors! The only tumbler I press differently is the shimmery tumblers. I do those with less time and temp. Thanks for watching!

      @industrialfringe953  Год назад

      YES! I have a couple of videos on how to get great edges (and seams)! Definitely check them out. Also, if you have access to an infrared thermometer, I’d check the edges to see if they’re getting an appropriate amount of heat. Sometimes heating elements don’t heat as well close to the edges.

    • @industrialfringe953
      @industrialfringe953  Год назад

      I absolutely love it! It’s literally the only press I’ve used sine I got it! The only con I can see so far is, I discovered if I want to only put the end of the tumbler in to add some time to the top or bottom, I can’t because of the way the handle mechanism swings. But I’ve literally never done that, so it’s no issue for me. (I figured it out when I was thinking of pressing another 35oz and was thinking that I might have to press the ends. I ended up just using the oven, which is what I was originally gonna do anyway!) I’ve put the mug press on my Heat Press Nation press and just use it for coffee mugs. Time will tell if the heating element lasts, but so far I highly recommend it! Thanks for watching!

    Now I'm sad that I didn't buy it when it was on sale.The oven seems so nerve-wracking for me, because the temp keeps changing around a lot. I have two thermometers in it, and they never match up exactly, and they change around a lot. So far, all my tumblers in the oven are coming out fine. But I'd rather something more predictable. And I definitely hate my Goodcrafter press. I'll never use it again. So, I guess I'll have to stick to the oven until/unless the price comes down on this press.
