Thanks to everyone who helped with ideas and science for this video and special thanks to everyone who kept me company through endless repetitions of farming Elspeth's quest battle on Livestreams!
The only way to improve Elspeth's army depicted in her quest battle is by completely replacing Handgunners with Ironsides. They deal twice as much damage and have twice more ammo, so...
@@bogdanleshenko7149 Yeah my other setup that I showed briefly has 8 Amethyst Ironsides + 2 Wizards of Light to net enemies for them. That also works really well for farming the QB. Not sure which is better actually.
I just love the idea of the Inquisitor being able to accuse a greater demon of being a demon and it loses armor and physical defense. Making it weaker.
I was wondering how these freaking schematics were determined! I'm sure it said somewhere and I missed it but this is a super interesting min max strategy. Take my like you devious bastard
Lol I was just opening RUclips to see if you had a video on exploits for Tomb Kings. This is even better as Empire is my favourite faction! If you do have a video on exploits for Tomb Kings thought I'd love to know! Great content as always.
You can actually kill Vlad with Elspeth so she could come back in 1 turn, then intentionally get her killed at the end of the turn so she can basically swap instantly (over the end turn) without losing any turns on her). That's what I actually did instead of respec, so I wouldn't lose any turns.
One thing that bothers me most is an unnamed slaanesh agents randomly spawning at quest battle site after the quest. They just doestn't do anything, but they sure annoy you once you do enough farming. CA needs to fix this bug.
Thanks for this. I did notice I was getting much more schematics for fighting living races like ogres or dwarfs and none for fighting undead as they don't rout and there's nothing to run down - haven't tried it with Vampire Coast. I just couldn't figure out how exactly does it work.
You get no schematics from Vampire Count routers as they are not a gunpowder faction. For Vampire Coast- you have to kill them while they are CRUMBLING - that counts them as captives like other races routing. Fast Disintegration makes it hard though. Not as ideal as Empire or Skaven or something where you can actually spend the post battle killing all the routers though.
this is great, would u mind doing something like this for oathgold in dwarfs? i know you cant cheese it anymore but i struggle to understand why i sometimes get 10 oathgold after a battle for wiping out an entire army but then get 100+ for barely scratching a win with a garrison
Yeah but you also get Gift of slaanesh on every hero you take in. So 4 heroes means you are rocking +20 slaanesh corruption everywhere you go. Good thing is you only have to win the battle once when you finish to get rid of the gift. But the gotrek battle is less optimal because trying to keep gotrek and felix alive makes you rush, and you generally get less schematics overall - but I only tried it a few times. Maybe if you practiced you could make it work. Karl franz has an easy battles vs undead if you can confed him early, but probably low schematics.
It's not gunpowder schematics, its schematics from "target practice". You get target practice schematics from ALL battles when you do damage using gunnery units.
Huh. I'd have expected conceding the quest battle to destroy your army. When ToD released I had a Malakai adventure battle bug out, not spawning a scripted enemy, and was forced to concede. Doing so wiped out my whole full health army and ruined my campaign. I guess normal quest battles for your unique items work differently? Maybe this was just an issue with Malakai's adventure battles. I haven't lost a quest battle legitimately (without it bugging out) in a long time so I'm not sure.
@@KrytoRift As seen in the video - watch the coruscating blast button as soon as the casting animation plays (on the button- not the model) then click another ability. You just have to click it before the cast animation (on the button) finishes. Just give it a try it will make sense.
My take is that Elspeth defends the Empire, but she is also unapologetically ruthless about annihilating heresy whenever she finds it. Averland actually gets taken over by Slaanesh at one point in the Lore(in my head cannon that's the point just before Elspeth comes in and establishes Martial Law, kills the traitors, brings order to the province and returns Averheim to the rightful Elector.
If you're on a channel showing the best way to get schematics, you're not going to find much roleplay anyway dawg. I'm sure that across all total war creators the vast majority of them don't roleplay to begin with because in a game about numbers, in a game about "my stats and economy are better than yours" roleplayers are a minority. You're literally on a channel that shows bugs, Turn 3 Confeds, and other cheese
I mean, no one forces you do this, and usually these exploits, if you wanna call them that (I wouldn't, since it's normal game mechanics used in a different way), are tedious to do or repetitive. And, it's a singleplayer game, no one cares what anyone does. As it should be. :P
Because it doesn't make good content to make a 300 turn empire campaign for Elspeth to get upgrades. Would you personally sit here and watch a 5 to 8 hour video where someone wasn't cheesing in some way or form to upgrade the school fully?

It feels similar to twitter nolifers accusing people randomly with sexual harassment, just because they disagree with them.

Some great tips here, love the idea on how to get extra amethyst units in a non-Elspeth army.
I watched this entire video with People of the Sun blasting through Spotify
This the moment of histroy for Elspeth mains

No Tomb Kings yet sorry!
@@MercytheMad All good, good sir. Still a great faction. Can't wait to farm the crap out of schematics and go on a crusade.
Gonna try this soon, good video
Great, will do in next campaign :) For this one will respec elspeth so can get more Ametyst troops. Great video as always ! Keep em coming :)

I am so jealous of your beard, a godlike beard!
Mercy is soo resourceful!
Mercy is not just for Christmas
There is a mod that removes the trail limit on the workshop
Very cool and extremely good information about Elspeth in general. I probably won’t farm the quest battle tho.
Thanks for the video
Fantastic thumbnail
Thanks man i didn’t know that.
great stuff!

awesome advice

You should get schematics from all armies not only the main
Do vampire counts count as a race that has weapons? They can recruit handgunners after all…
No they don't
Nope
That's a cheesepowder army ^^

Oathgold is captives divided by 8. Slaves is captives divided by 2.
Gotta kill em after they rout.
@@MercytheMad thanks a lot
Would this also work for the Gotrek and Felix battle? Definitely less value available, but then you'd only be hit by the Fears Slaneesh trait.

Is the quest battle a special exception to get schematics? I didn't thing chaos warriors used gunpowder.
It's not gunpowder schematics, its schematics from "target practice". You get target practice schematics from ALL battles when you do damage using gunnery units.
Anyone pointed out you got 3726 captives while they deployed only 2399? You captured 1 and a half of all the troops deployed in that skaven battle
It multiplies Captive numbers by the number of Lords you have supporting the battle. I probably had 2-3 extra Lord supporting that battle

Maybe it's just the Malakai battle? Normally you don't get wiped if you concede a QB
What button to cancel her blast?
Use any other ability or spell while the blast is casting to cancel it.
@MercytheMad ok sorry, just so I'm clear, is that during that during the countdown, right after the countdown or during the cooldown period?
@@KrytoRift yeah, while you see the timer on the icon, during that phase you press another ability. He literally shows it in the video, around 7:04
