As someone who made a living working with steam pipes and recording temps to troubleshoot systems. Shooting shiny chrome will give you bogus numbers even shiny black gives bogus numbers . I carried a can of flat black spray paint to get accurate temps. If you want to compare before and after accurate temps with this cooler, the correct way would be to use a oil temp gauge with an oil temp sending unit.
I met JJ and his wife this weekend at Laguna Seca. Cool guy. Very knowledgeable. The 10 minute conversation we had sold me on ultra cool. Thanks for posting this. I live in the valley between LA and Fresno. Temps get around 109 in the height of summer. This is much needed.
LOVED your temperature demo 👍🏻 Thank you!!!! Since Minnesota summers are getting as hot as Florida, I’m gonna need to invest in that oil filter cooler & fan.
You know those numbers were nowhere close to accurate. Anyone that knows how to check temps understands that’s not how it’s done. Distance, finish… way to many factors complicated what he tried to do.
Need oil temp gauge brother. Got a power vision on my twin cam. Head temps in the high 280s in stop and go traffic. Stock 96 stage 1. Biggest thing with these bikes is keep them moving. Not meant to sit in traffic.
I realize a lot of people love power. But there is a lot of negatives that come with it. Gimme an 80 inch Evo or Shovel. I put on many trouble free miles on these machines. You add some power on a Twin cam or Quad Valve.......next you go to chain drive......then maybe update the Trans...... then the cooling system never seems to be good enough. Then you get used to it and try to find more hoarse power. Ever notice when you haven't been able to ride for awhile it seems like your on a rocket. Then you get used to it........ I love my 2014 Street Glide for the comfort. I look at things to make it more reliable not necessarily faster. One of the best things Harley did was the belt final drive. Ive had three Evo's with this and put on over 100,000 miles on each one. I had a 1985 SUper Glide with the chain. It was a royal pain until I discovered O-ring chains. Eventually I traded to a 1987 Soft Tail. I loved the belt drive. Gimme an EVO with a belt drive......a mild cam......and S&S carburetor. To each his own.
I have a 2022 St. glide and I have a 2011 Rd. king. I just called up the company I got two cool oil coolers I got two oil filters from this guy JJ spoke with him for about an hour great guy great time I can't wait to get them and put him on my bike thank you for this video.
I don't spend a lot of time on RUclips and it shows sometimes when I step on sponsors by suggesting other parts.. Sorry about that (smirking)... I believe that fan/cooler is Legit. I will be checking it out, possibly fabbing up a crash bar to go horizontal with it.
I put an UltraCool fan assisted oil cooler and FLO reusable oil filter on my 17 FXDLS and never looked back. I'm also running the V&H FP3 tuner which helped to richen up the mix a little bit. The bike definitely runs cooler now.
The reflection from the chrome will give you inaccurate readings, the matte finishes will give you the most accurate readings. Chrome messes with the laser. Love your channel man! loving the build as well!
John my ocd I'd undo the fans from the cooler and flip them so the wires are on the frame side and not visible from the left side. Would look so much cleaner.
I would like to preface by saying great video as always. It's been said that oil is the life blood of any engine and keeping it clean and cool will prolong the life of any internal combustion engine. I would advise anyone thinking of using any aftermarket product, especially ones that market their use as being "race proven", to keep in mind that engines used on the race track and engines being used on the street have very different requirements, engines used for racing usually get tore down and rebuilt or replaced after each race or just after a race or two, street engines are meant to last up to hundreds of thousands of miles before a rebuild. DO YOUR RESEARCH before installing a component that is designed for and regularly used on the race track on a street engine. I've personally thought about using that very oil filter but after some research, and I whole heartedly agree that the current 5 micron oil filters are somewhat restrictive, I decided to use K&N's oil filter, it's less restrictive filtering to 25 microns, freeing up a bit of power and lessons the need of going into bypass mode. Don't forget that even a reusable filter has certain requirements that a disposable won't, like making sure the filter pleats are completely clean and dry along with replacing the o-ring(a part that may not be available at your local parts store) before installation. Again, do your research before deciding what's best for you and your engine.
I had my rear jug shut down other day due to overheating (running hard af on a 95* day… all hwy so lots of air hitting thst OEM cooler and the fins on the cyls). Took me a min to realize what happened. Thought I blew a head gasket or cracked a sleeve or piston .. felt and sounded like lost lots of compression.. motor felt like it was on a broken mount and sounded way wrong and lost half its power. I shut it down when I got to the spot. Then was ok. Been fine since. Took me a bit to realize what happened.. rear cyl shut down fit. first of all you cant go by the parts king of the baggers use their motors are always being torn down.which has nothing to do with street riding.and second that flo filter i would not use it doesn't capture all the particles like a k&n filter.but that cooler i like they move lots of air and my 170 hp m8 needs lots of air.

It wouldn’t come on in the winter since the fans wouldn’t need to
Now how about DK customs tank lift? That should help also or by what they say 😂
Can the cooler be used if you have lowers?
Yeah u have to cut the lowers just a little not much ultra cool sells a kit for lowers u can look at the manual on how it installs really simple just cut the vent off
So can you just put the oil filter on your bike without the oil cooler?
Yes 👍🏼
Check the temperature inside your helmet!! Damn it sounded hot in there!!😂😂
That oil temp is not hot enough… 190 min and 240 max… this is operating range of Valoline which is a leader in the industry.
Oil that cool is not good…
first of all you cant go by the parts king of the baggers use
their motors are always being torn down.which has nothing to
do with street riding.and second that flo filter i would not use
it doesn't capture all the particles like a k&n filter.but that cooler i like
they move lots of air and my 170 hp m8 needs lots of air.
Any discount code?
Get Sandy to point a thermo imaging camera much better demonstration
I'm not sold on this thing. I still think it's a gimmick like these after market spark plugs that promise 10hp gains.
Clubhouse.
