The opening of the Letter to the Hebrews is one of the most astonishing pieces of writing ever. So rich and profound -- a testimony to the promises of God, spoken through the prophets, fulfilled in Christ Jesus our Lord. The finality of the old, and the ushering in of the new, could not be expressed more clearly. He is risen indeed, he has returned indeed, and he has established his kingdom indeed, because he said he would indeed.
