I didn't know. There are so many popups about useless sharts, but nothing about the recorder tool! I wish I could dual record with my laptop camera. Thanks, Kevin!
Thank you sooo much kevin. It worked like gem. Apl other apps were freezing and stuck at screen region recording but it helped and i never knew anything like that existed on my PC ❤
Thanks Kevin! I've been using the app a lot but had no idea until now that there was a video recording feature. It works great. It is interesting that the videos don't auto save to the Picture\Screenshots folder like the stills do. Thanks again.
Hi Kevin, thanks a lot for all your vids. How can I configure to record for a longer time? In my PC it just records for no longer than one minute. Blessings.
Great info thanks. Could you please explain how to screen record with an IPhone. So simple the way you do it. I follow the instructions but never get the sound even if I press the red button.
This is the problem I am experiencing with some of my ".ico picture." I create folders for my personal use. I do not want the newly created folders to look like the usual windows folders, so I go online and find various pictures to be the face or cover for the folders I create. The original pictures might be in the jpeg or png format. I convert the pictures to the ".ico" format. After I converted the jpeg or png pictures to .ico format, I right click on the folder, I select "properties", I then click on "customize", then I click on "change Icon", I then select "browse", I then go to where I saved the converted pictures to ".ico picture", I select the picture and the picture is now on the folder I created for my personal use. The picture covers the entire folder like it should. After a day, week, or sometimes a month, for some unknown reason to me, the picture on the folder will shrink and no longer covers the entire folder. Do you have some fixes or suggestions that will resolve this problem I am having with the picture shrinkage? I use windows 10 Thank you.
Great tip, but I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise which does NOT have this version of the snipping tool. Is it possible to download the tool version you demonstrated onto a Windows 10 laptop (for free)?
Two questions pls - how do you hide that recording panel during panel? Is there a way to record the 1080p videos with much lesser size? Right now, any recorded video in 1080p is huge in GBs.
Is this something that needs to be installed on Windows 10? I do have an app entitled "Snipping Tool" but it doesn't appear to have this function. Thanks Kevin 🙂
Appears to not work with /windows /ten. BUT. Kevin has preciously shown another way. Press Windows key and "G". This will record screen. It's called Xbox Game Bar. Xbox is not needed.

Yes, using since long, one of the best and simplest app but still learn, sound settings, thank you.

I didn't know. I'll use it for my teams meeting this afternoon. Thanks Kevin
Magic Kevin! I love your videos short and sweet. And very useful tool! Thanks.

Wow. Thanks Kelvin
i used xbox game bar for recording only games by using windows + alt + R
It worked for me thanks

Thank you so much 😍
Great tip
Windows + Shift + R does not work on my HP laptop, Windows 10.
windows 10 doesn't have that shortcut
it's windows + alt + r
@@mctogo001I tried it it did not work
I tried many times in May 2024, it records only for a few minutes.
Fourth Comment 😎
Can you make a video on fix usb not recognising by windows
Woah I thought snipping tool have screenshot options only. I think this might be the best way and uses least resources.
Are Kevin Stratvert and ThioJoe the same person? They do look similar, or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?
Two questions pls - how do you hide that recording panel during panel? Is there a way to record the 1080p videos with much lesser size? Right now, any recorded video in 1080p is huge in GBs.
Use obs studio or bandicam
Thanks, Kevin. What video editing software do you use?
Davinci Resolve Studio 👍
Is this something that needs to be installed on Windows 10? I do have an app entitled "Snipping Tool" but it doesn't appear to have this function. Thanks Kevin 🙂
My laptop is windows + shift + s and snipping tool comes up
Windows + Shift + S launches into screenshot mode. Using R launches directly into the screen recording mode. 👍
@@KevinStratvert doesnt work on windows 10
Does it record video on Windows 10?
didnt know thanks
Can you record the system audio only as an mp3?
This isn't available on Windows 10
yes, this entire feature seems to be exclusive to windows 11, on which pressing print-screen does the same thing
It's windows + alt + r on Windows 10
@@tubby1thanks a lot! ❤❤❤
I dumped windows when I found v 11 to be garbage. Is this option available in chrome?
It only worked once! Now all it will let me do is take just a 'picture' of the screen. What's up?
where does it save? thank you
Doesn't work in Win 10
Does it work with windows 10
yes
@@Buharialtinee Not for me on HP laptop.
my windows is antient Windows 10 family version, I dont have this. oops
Soo you are telling me that Win+Shift+R is the the same as Win+Shift+S :D (probably S for snip and R for record).
It didn't work with me, probably only works on Windows 11.
That's correct. You can use OBS instead.
it actually does [windows 10/above]
@@Senior_Heel The screenshot thing does work Windows + Shift + S but the recording doesn't work yet. Probably soon I think.
Why is mine blurry. The quality is good in the main screen
nevermind :) Sorry!
I can open snipping tool by a search for it, but I find no options in it to allow for screen recording. Only still-snips.
I followed the video but the app did not come up on my laptop. Any ideas why it did not. How can I get the app?
How can i do this with the mouse or screen, instead of using keyboard keys
How long can we record the video because your other suggestion xbox lasts only for 5 mins.
I am using Widows 10. The snipping tool is only for creating an image and has no video capture option. How do I get this option?
It would have been nice to mention this is for windows only.
Why? Because "press the Windows key" wasn't obvious enough for you?
Appears to not work with /windows /ten. BUT. Kevin has preciously shown another way. Press Windows key and "G". This will record screen. It's called Xbox Game Bar. Xbox is not needed.
Didn't work for me, don't know why. I have windows 11 with the last updates, but when I tried, it just snapshot the part that I've selected.
Unfortunately, my Windows key shift and r do nothing when i press.
We can't change the recording quality?
Can you screen recording of someone else is talking ? If so how
not enough info. no options, very basic. +R is for rwgion. +S allows you to select region, window, fullscreen.
Hi, i tried to record a game, and in fact the image capture is very bad, sometimes full of shadowing and pixelized. any idea that is causing this?
For game recording, I recommend OBS Studio or the XBOX Game Bar. The Snipping tool is more for quick screen recordings.
What if you have windows 8.1
Cool
I did it and it didn’t happen
I didn’t see the recording menu pop up actually I have tried it multiple times but it’s not happening
Click on the start menu, then begin to type in the Snipping tool you can find the application there.
this is probably windows 11 only
Lol 😅
win+shft+r No. This does not give snipping tool. I am using Windows 10.
This software is only on windows 11.
Doesn’t work
That doesn't exist 🤬🤬🤬
What a dumb i am i dint know this😐
