As a content creator, i have never been satisfied with any screen recorder but only OBS. That software is bit complicated but solves almost all of my screen recoding and livestream problems. Yup it’s an open source software.
On mac! I have guided how even quicktime player can be used as screen recorder with webcam

OMG this took me forever but I am so thankful I found your video. Tried obs but seemed like a huge learning curve and would take to much time so I went to canva. Should have been simple but 3 different browsers and hours of trying to access camera later, finally went to browser number 4 and the canva was a dream. and free too! Thanks for the video!

watching a video for minutes just for mac was a lil .... but thanks i got to know about canva
For descript - how can you go back and forth between your face on full screen and picture and picture but continuously through the same clip? When I try to select the recording of me to only show for a certain part of the clip, it selects the entire recording, even after I split the clip
This is one of the frustrating things about descript. You have to create “scenes” not just split your clip like a regular editor. I have a video showing the editing workflow!

Great tutorials! I have a Mac OS Sonoma 14.3 and ScreenFlow has been so difficult to learn. My webcam recording + screen will reproduce me talking but it freezes my image. So I'm looking at these alternatives you have introduced. Thanks for your efforts.

All I want is to read articles with my webcam. So if I use “display screen” would I just minimize the window, open a browser and read articles? Then when done I just re-maximize and end the recording

I got Camtasia for my M1 Mac, but it has MAJOR cursor-lag issues at times, and other times it’s perfect. I’ve sent them a ticket, but it seems like they’re just as perplexed.

I tried using a PowerPoint in Descript...I highlighted the first slide but it didn't allow me to progress through the presentation...what am I doing wrong?
Hmm. I’m not sure 🤔 I don’t use PP so I haven’t encountered that problem.
As of September 2023 you can no longer download Loom videos on free accounts 😢

But it is not free. You will have to pay . So if you are a beginner then Descript is not for you
Descript is excellent for beginners. What does free vs paid have to do with being a beginner?
