    What I love about Tears of the kingdom is how it has modified my thought process on solving puzzles. Normally in games it's HOW EFFICIENTLY CAN I SOLVE THIS, but in tears of the kingdom its different. It's I wonder if [silly idea] will work... and by golly it does. Unlike most games it feels like imagination is rewarded instead of punished.

    • @sirbirbton
      @sirbirbton Год назад +27

      Exactly, that's what I love so much. I love when developers embrace the player's curiosity above all else. There are few things more rewarding in games than feeling as if you're outsmarting the designers only to find that they not only accounted for it but that everything works how you'd expect! A small example that comes to mind is fusing a bee comb to my shield thinking "it would be cool if this made bees come out whenever an enemy attacked me" but figured it wouldn't really work only to find out it does. Or things like standing on certain parts of the zonai glider to influence its direction without needing to use a control stick part. There are just so many examples like that and it's glorious

    On the topic of Link being silent is actually really tragic. In BOTW, you can read Zelda's journals where she asks Link why he is so quiet. He states that he understands he is the hero and must bere that burden. He can not burden others with his toughts, worries, doubts, or opinions, so he keeps quiet. It's actually very sad when you read that journal and understand the implications. He is the hero of legened, he saves people, and knows no one will save him.

Nothing had that weird fuzzy look anymore. And you can't really compare a fantasy game like Zelda to a more grounded, realistic game like RDR2.

    The graphics have progressed in a way. The draw distance is massive in comparison to BotW and a necessity considering what the game tries to do with the sky islands. On the other hand, because of this, some dynamic resolution issues are visible and I don't find it to be quite as crisp as BotW. But, the Korok Forest, a BotW benchmark, runs very smooth. I also think the 1.1.1 patch that came out a few days ago improved performance massively. So I got to hand it to them.

The best roundabout way I've found to turn objects around on that imaginary Z axis is to do alternating partial turns on X and Y, until it's oriented more or less where you want it.
