      I have not been to Disneyland but can compare the two based on the gazillion videos that are available.
      I love the exterior of the mansion at DisneyWorld much more so than the one in Anaheim.
      Overall, the two rides are likely equal to each other except for one thing. Disneyland has the world famous Hatbox ghost (“Hattie”).
      So, points to Orlando for the exterior and points to Anaheim for Hatteras the Hatbox ghost.
      Overall, a tie.

      I agree. Even though I've only ridden the Orlando one once as a child, I can confirm that while there are new updates and revampings of the old ride, it will never be better or worse, just different.

    WDW is better due to an overall creepier atmosphere which is helped by the more decrepit look of the mansion. I know the disneyland one is iconic, but it just looks too well kept for me.

    I can't really decide, I have a soft spot for all the mansions, Disneyland for Hatbox Ghost, WDW for It's extra scenes, Phantom Manor for it's interesting and dark story, and Tokyo Disneyland for being the only Haunted mansion to never receive any of the more modern updates and therefore have a sort of historical feel to it (Not to mention it has the original Beating Heart Bride animatronic, which I think is one of the creepiest ghosts the mansion ever did)

    This was really entertaining definitely keep doing these. Personally I love the haunted mansion in Disney World more. It's super nostalgic for me and the ride I miss the most when I'm not in the parks. While the hatbox ghost is unique I find it to be the only big difference between the originally and the one in Florida, which may end up changing in the future making Florida's version that much cooler. It's just better in my opinion but I can definitely see why some folks enjoy the one in Anaheim more, it is after all the original one that Walt worked on.

      Laura H the only problem with everyone saying they like DL’s better because it’s the “original” is that they were both being constructed at the same time. The only reason they didn’t open at the same time is because DL’s opened 14 yrs after the park opened and WDW’s was an opening day attraction

    The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland is one of my all time favorite rides. I rode it twice last time we went to the park, and I was happily singing along to Grim Grinning Ghosts both times. I finally got to see Hattie in person and I was so excited to see him. I just love the ride itself and it’s historical significance to the park.

    Honestly, I have to say neither is better. Neither feels complete in a way. California has the original but Florida has an improved copy. Things that can be improved in California are in Florida's and some additions to the Florida Mansion would make it the best will never be added but exist in California. So it's really at an impasse. You're always losing something regardless of where you go.
    You want the best mansion? Combine the two together. Give an amalgam of scenes exclusive to Florida and the classic scenes of California, use the Updated tech and better lighting, keep the Physical Ghosts at the end, Add the Hatbox Ghost animatronic, have the Interactive Queue , As for the Stretching Room, make it go up or down depending on where you are but use the Florida audio to fix the audio glitch in California and the creaking sounds and there you go.
    That way, no comparison needs to be made and everyone is happy.
    California is the original and has classic effects but Florida did improve on what needed to be improved like effects and lighting. However there are some things that California has that Florida wouldn't touch with a 10 ft Pole like the Hatbox Ghost and the Original Hitchhikers.

    I live in Florida and the magic kingdom is like a second home to me. I just went to Disneyland in April for the first time and I loved the haunted mansion in Disneyland for its old charm. It feels straight out of 1969, especially the hallway scene. It was a refreshing change listening to the ghost host without all the special effects. That being said, the haunted mansion at magic kingdom is a better experience. The ride is longer, has a better outside, and the effects are more up to date. So haunted mansion magic kingdom wins. It is the ultimate haunted mansion ride. However I feel like the New Orleans style mansion fits the characters and story better but oh well. Overall I like magic kingdoms better. It has a bigger cemetery and even a big pet cemetery on the hill. You did not mention that. Great video man! But may I suggest mentioning the exteriors next time? The way the mansion looks is very important to the experience and story. Just a suggestion. Great video!

    I love the Ride vs Ride concept!!! And I personally feel that The Haunted Mansion at the original magic kingdom takes the crown. With that being said, I would also add that it’s the best Hainted Mansion out of any Disney Park. The history of the original Haunted Mansion is so rich and detailed that no other Haunted Mansion or version of The Haunted Mansion comes close. The original Haunted Mansion provides an emerssive waiting queue that is so well done you do not truly know where the ride starts, as well as, offering the one and only input of Walt Disney himself. Many other feautures of the original Haunted Mansion plays factors in this decision too, but I just wanted to name a few. Great job on all your content and you should possibly think of a podcast too because your fan base is growing fast and steadily. Cannot wait for more content!!!

    I got to go to Disneyworld for the 1st time a few years ago and remember having mixed feelings about its version of the Haunted Mansion.
    Mainly my only issue was that the staff stuffed so many of us in the stretching room at Disneyworld that no one could hear anything but the loud sounds of everyone talking (This thoroughly upset me) and we were literally pressed against 4 bodies at a time from the entrance all the way to getting on the buggy, but the ride itself was wonderful.
    So I probably prefer Disneyland since it's the park I live by and due to a not so great experience at Disneyworld.

    Disneyland California Haunted Mansion is the best/better. Yes WDW may have better lighting and has updated animatronics, etc. Disneyland though has all the original stuff, yes there are some flaws, but that is what makes the attraction so much better. Of course there are some things that are going to be needing an update through the course of the next few years, but a classic never disappoints.

    Overall, I prefer the Haunted Mansion in Disney World because of the additional scenes, the changing portrait of Master Gracey, and the architectural style of the outer facade, though I do love the Hatbox Ghost in Disneyland (though I think his head should switch back and forth between his shoulders and his hatbox more often--I feel like I spend most of my time at that part of the ride waiting for it to switch, and then I only really get to see it switch once when I'd rather get to see it switch twice) and I must say I prefer the Disneyland version of the Hitchhiking Ghosts following you home over the digital Disney World version--it's a much more impressive effect, and it's also what I grew up with since Disney World only changed their version to what it is now a few years ago. Of course, Disneyland does have a leg up with Haunted Mansion Holiday, which I am *dying* to see ;)

    • @auggiewhitman7358
      @auggiewhitman7358 5 лет назад +1

      The Mysterious Gravity Falls Person
      1. WDW’s has a better building design (Much more ominous, is on a hill)
      2. Also a better queue (interactive elements and theming outside the building)
      3. “Bottomless pit” Oh you mean the empty dark room you board the doom buggies on?
      4. “Monster cave” what are you even talking about?
      5. I didn’t know that a moving walkway typically found at airports counted towards making a ride better?

    • @themysteriousgravityfalls
      @themysteriousgravityfalls 5 лет назад

      1. Actually, Walt Disney HIMSELF shunned the idea of an ominous looking house, he designed the one at Disneyland himself.
      2. I was talking about how the que looks, and Disneyland's looks a thousand times better.
      3. Nope, I mean to the left when you go up the exit hill.
      4. The caves where you exit from.
      5. This was referring to where you ENTER, which is not a moving walkway.
      Once again, Disneyland is better.

    • @auggiewhitman7358
      @auggiewhitman7358 5 лет назад +1

      The Mysterious Gravity Falls Person
      So, because Walt Disney himself designed the exterior, that automatically makes it better? Nice try, take several seats. I’m beginning to think you have never actually been to WDW. The MK version has a far superior looking queue as well. The DL queue is a bunch of switchbacks off to the side. Basically what you are saying that because DL has an exit ramp with a dark floor 5 feet below to make it feel like a “bottomless pit” (which it doesnt.) I rest my case. The exterior design of the DL mansion wasn’t even FOR what the haunted mansion became. It actually sat vacant for like 8 years before WDI did something with it, after Walt’s death.

    Since growing up with the Disney World in Orlando I do love that Haunted Mansion and couldn't even count the amount of times I have been on it. It is my must ride everytime, but I have not been to the one in California yet. There are bits of the California I wish Orlando did like around Christmas how the place transforms and an actual moving elevator in the stretch room.

    At first I really enjoyed the WDW Haunted Mansion more but after watching the video I think I enjoy Disneyland’s a lot more. I’ve been to both in real life, except I saw the holiday overlay when I went to Disneyland, and it was phenomenal. I enjoy the exterior of the mansion in WDW more as it’s more gothic and eerie, and I wish the loading area in Disneyland’s version had more to it other than the cheap fog effect in the background. Other than that, it was more enjoyable going through the classic Haunted Mansion in Anaheim and I felt more immersed into compared to Disney World’s. It gives me a different, and good exciting feeling when I went on it. Overall, great video! Looking forward to more from you in the future :)

    I think the (classic) Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom is objectively superior to Disneyland's because it's longer, and more updated. However, being a Disneylander, I think I prefer ours. I like the antebellum exterior better, I like that our stretching room is an elevator, I like that we keep some of the walk-through elemtents as the queue. But the biggest reason is, of course, ours becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday. I've said it before: I'm not a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, nor am I the biggest fan of the regular Haunted Mansion, but HMH is just awesome. For some reason, both of the elements together just work out great. That's an experience we can only get at Disneyland (in America, of course). And actually, if it wasn't limited to just America, I'm sure people would say Tokyo's is best because every single element from either American Haunted Mansion is present in Tokyo's (except that the exterior is WDW's clone).

    The idea behind the Disneyland mansion is my favorite. I love the house design and the fact that Walt Disney himself worked on it makes it special. It has the Hatbox Ghost, though, so that's awesome.
    I never got to see it because two years after I moved from California, they put him in, so I'm sad.
    However, I like the interactive queue (even though some parents who don't care what their kids do ruin it) and the inside of the mansion in WDW.

    Just an FYI - the candles in the Florida HM in the Madame Leota scene can be purchase from a company called Luminara. They used Disney patents to bring those candles to the general public. My dad and I rode several times to figure out if the candles were real and then how did they make them look so real. You can find cheaper versions, but they just don't look as real.

    My favorite HM ride is Disneyland. I am a big fan of how both parks actually invest in the architecture as well as the ride. So the reason I love the Disneyland one so much is honestly the mansion it’s self. Just the building alone brings me to tears it’s so beautiful and has so much details that I love. I do enjoy all of the tombstones and other memorials you pass by in the queue of the DisneyWorld version but once again that New Orleans style mansion at Disneyland makes me cry with its beauty. I’d happily be the 1000 ghost if it meant I got to live there

    At WDW, they have pet cemetery at end of ride in the exit que where you can look for Mr. Toad in the graveyard. IN addition, WDL has that Nightmare Before Christmas theme that people really like (most people). Also, WDW cast members are scary, somber at WDW, not laughing (1:06)!

    Walt Disney World for me. When discussing exterior, Disneyland’s is so well polished and clean, I didn’t feel at all like I was about to enter a haunted house. Disney worlds gets the message across without completely having it look like it’s falling apart with its gothic architecture. When discussing interior, Disney World simply has everything Disneyland has (minus a few things like the hatbox ghost) but more. I recommend riding both before making any decisions.

    WDW for sure, I’ve been on both and yes DL has the hatbox ghost, but WDW is longer, more immersive, plus the 13 o’clock clock actually has 13 notches. Also better lighting.
    Honestly though to everyone saying DL is better only because it’s the “original”, they were both constructed at the same time and the only reason the one at WDW didn’t open at the same time as DL is because the park didn’t open for another 2 years
