I think it's kind of ridiculous that they can't hand moderate masters+. Just bring back the tribunal for masters+, anyone who gets sentenced by the tribunal gets escalated to a human at Riot who makes the final call. It's really just that simple.

Pants - Riot's justification for these bans is something along the lines of 'because you wasted other players time, we will make you waste your time as punishment'... since most ranked players feel norms are a waste of time. a 48 hour ban just means you go do other stuff and come back. a 'norms ban' forces you to waste your time.

If they ban for 24/48 hours the accused can just hop on another acc. He's forced to play 5 unranked games on this acc regardless of the time frame. The putting challenger players against lower elo players makes low elo players not wanna play norms, they'll start playing ranked to get away from the high elo players in norms. It's pitiful.
The low elo players stop playing SR and start playing aram or just move on to a different game.
it doesnt make sense to have an account at challenger mmr and iron 4 at normals, at least the game should match normals at your rank lvl not lower than average

Normals are where you find casuals of all skill levels and ranks don't reflect actual skill sometimes. You will find season one players that don't feel like sweating for the climb but want to experience the game.

Riot bans from ranked because common way to circumvent it is to just play on another account and just come back once the punishment is over. Now the way players circumvent this is either by griefing normals or by remaking with alternate accounts.(very likely gonna change to win normals)
this will also increase the normal game mmr, so that they're not just hyper stomping in normals.

Dota 2 has a low priority queue that only matches low behavior score players with other low behavior score players and you get jailed there until you get a certain number of wins so you can't just run it down. Riot is trying to do something like that but without the effort involved.

Being banned for 24 or 48 hours means you just take a 1-2 day break from league. Having to play 5 normal games means you have to spend at least 2 hours of punishment that you don't want to actually do. It's a more effective punishment especially since you can't skip it by just playing on a different account. If you want your account back you have to do it.
2 days break from league is better for the community than shit stomping 25 random silvers tho..... Also for high elo addicts those 2 days are actually very annoying.
@@elohitman6026 The case is, trolls, toxicity, and griefers decrease to neglegible value in high elo. High elo cares about lp more than low elo. You need to grind the game for 50 games at least to winstreak your new account to high elo and even more games to even able to play ranked. Some people will grief others on purpose and open up mutiple account to grief. It cost nothing to create an account and average to 10 min to complete the turtorial. 2 day ban, switch account and continue.
@@beigaming8403 heavily depends on what you mean by "high elo". If you mean GM+ then yes it gets a bit more chill there. But the most toxic elos by far are d4 and low masters. People with massive egos running around being shit at the game and griefing.

When I came back after 3 years of not playing my normals mmr was reset and I got matched constantly with either brand new players or toxic plat-diamond players who were probably banned from ranked like thebaus, it's a complete stomp every single match and easy to see why na's playerbase is super dead when casual gamemodes are completely unplayable for the average person
13:18 as someone who played league season 2-6 and barely coming back S12 split 2 i can assue idk why people think its fine to troll in a normal game spamming "its just norms" dont get me wrong i understand everyone has different reasons for why they play which mode but my reason for playing norms is mainly for playing off-role so i learn to play the role meaning different champs majority of the time. I will never one trick or play someone im good at already becaused id just use that champ in ranked. Even when learning you are expected to have alot of bad games you shouldnt just end up inting or trolling just keep playing it out or ff even if you are being held hostage from ff

I purely play normals and I can tell you it is the worst experience. As a person with a level 400+ account I sometimes find myself match with people below level 30. I genuinely thought normals had some form of ranking system but if it does it's definitely not working.
Each Normals has its own MMR. The problem with a new account or one where someone doesn't play normals is the Normals MMR starts very low. IE I play ARAM pretty exclusively these days and when I did play normals I played Draft Pick. If I accidently load into Quickplay (why doesn't Riot Client remember the last game mode?) my MMR is very low since I never play it except by accident.
Smurf detection is pretty good but anyone who want to smurf just plays on a new account since Riots assumption is people care about their accounts. But smurfers don't care because it's easy to buy level 30 accounts for a couple of bucks because of third party bots leveling accounts by playing bots..
a better option than a ban for riot, would be to hit the LP harder. If you have been reported for inting, and have a horrible ratio game then you receive a hit to LP. You might drop rank but dropping from GM to high master is much better than pitting a Master/GM/Challenger against iron players for 5 games. The ranked junkies will cry over the lost LP, and will learn their lesson.

They made changes to norms a few seasons ago where they no longer were matching people in norms based on their rank in ranked play. Allegedly you could have GM in your lobby if they rarely played or were grouped with someone lower. Their alleged goal was to bring up lower peoples play, obviously that is not what has happened. Not to mention it is just to easy to create a new account, level it and stomp the shit out of low Elo if you trying to actually smurf. Stupid that Buas was even punished the way he was, Riots punishment system is stupid. Just like Inting Scion a few seasons ago, viable but if you got more than 2 games in a row without the system banning you, you were lucky.
I will say riots system of recognizing your play style is pretty quick to pick up on what you should be matched with based on kda, macro, movement, clicks etc. He went from being put into lobby with iron/silver to Plat-emerald second game. If the system can be that quick, why can't they fix the boosters/smurf accounts to actually fix ranked.
I don't know about anyone else here but I play norms to learn new champs/strats without affecting my rank teams. In addition, I am Master on main account and co-workers I play with are Iron-Em. So if I want to play with them in ranked, I have to smurf an account or go norms. Which is interesting as if you play a good game everybody is in all chat whining that I am in there. However, if I play a new champ to fuck off and do poorly I get flamed out of the lobby so not always fun. Found it is easier just to norms on an alt smurf.

I had a different kinda problem with my account. Its gotten chat muted ingame several times (admittedly deserved). To the point that, one single report is enough to get me a 5 ranked game restriction. Therefor the account is useless at this point. You cannot play ranked with it x))

I'm mostly matched with diamond players in normal games yet I'm unranked. It does have an MMR system of some kind but I reckon it's completely seperate from ranked play and Baus hasn't played any normal games. This seems like an unfortunate punishment for the less-skilled players.
The five games of Normals are really good below gold. It might be a problem above that. Gold and below there are lots of players that win by inting and luck. Not actually a good grasp of the game.

How the fuck can he keep getting away with it? What’s this dude gotta do to actually be banned? Why ban anyone then? Why can’t every player just call someone from riot and get unbanned instantly? And the worst part is, he still acts like (and maybe even genuinely thinks that) he doesn’t deserve these bans. He’s the one and only person who this keeps happening to but people act like it’s some sort of mistake or malfunction or bug with the system that he’s been banned over 20 times and perma banned at least 4 separate times ON STREAM.
What does he actually do that warrants a ban though? is having high deaths bannable to you? You seem very invested and angry at someone you've probably never interacted with or will ever interact with in your life.

yeeeah idk why riot has this system. I had to do this for one of my accounts that was rank restricted...shit was not fun for my opponents. I was facing bronze-gold players as a diamond mid laner. It did not feel good stomping on new/low elo players. riot's idea of punishing you for toxicity/inting is to punish innocent bystanders lmao.
It Is not stupid at all. It Is supposed to be a punishment. If u Ban the account from playing ranked for, lets say 48hours, the player Just goes to another account and plays nevertheless. If u force him to play normal games, He cant dodge the punishment, even if He goes to play on another account, He still has to play these normal games in order to play ranked. There is literally no punishment with time bans in this game since smurfing is allowed. It incentivises the player to continue doing whatever toxic behaviour He was partaking in.
Why is it even possible? The account should have MMR in all modes. He should face D1+ only.
I created a new account and played normals. At level 25 with avg scores of 18/2 throughout the levelling process I was playing with 2 bronzie and 2 gold players against 4 diamonds and 1 emerald. The next game my queue took 35 minutes so the next game I had to find some low elo players to team up with so I can at least find a game. I think something changes at level 25.
Imagine having a match history of 3/16, 1/9, 3/11, 0/9, 2/11 then saying 13:23 "Even in normal games you should still try your hardest to win." Bad player, more importantly bad person.

i think there has been some kind of mmr reset for all gamemodes, that's why he's facing low lvl accounts and iron/silver players, i went from having average emerald/master arams(i'm an aram whale) lobby to full silver/bronze in the span of 2 days. feels really weird.

Time is not better than normal games. With time, you can just hop on one of your 50 accounts and continue inting, with normal games, eventually you're required to endure 5 "pointless" games before inting again.
Also, if riot really cared about low elo players, they'd permaban smurfing :)
Honestly this is why I hate league, I am a casual player, I only play for fun, I don't give a shit about ranked and climbing, I like the system of the game though and thats why I play normals. For some stupid reason I get games like this sometimes, where there is a diamond or whatever that is smurfing on everybody, just casually ruining the games, killing the fun and wasting the time of everybody. It is not a good way to punish people, not sure if its always people that got punished, but god damn, once I had two master players in the enemy team when I usually play against everything up to plat.
People probably think, yeah its "just a normal game" who gives a f'ck?" but they can't even seem to balance the queue of the competitive game mode that everyone will play first when they first start the game, this is not a "who gives a f'ck" kind of situation, this should be fixed, I know they are working on the ranked matchmaking, and I do hope that they contemplate working on this as well.

it's weird the same thing happenned to me, i got ranked restricted, then i log out and log back in, was actually banned from the account, i messaged riot about it and they told me i wasnt actually banned, then i logged back in and wastn banned anymore. which is just weird, almsot like the account ban system is bugged. get farted on.

All i'm gonna say is freezing in norms for a reason other than personal safety is cringe. Sure, develop your skills or whatever, but there's only so many games in norms where both teams are having fun because it's a contest of skill.

But in the end the truth is that Trundle put his faith in riot, registered an account and played this game all on his own.
